For quite a while it was in person but then flipped to Zoom during Covid and then continued that way. Ian is a super busy guy as you can imagine so I think online is probably the only way - you should reach out to him and see. As @Killerfridge said, he's well set up for online and has a great technique for that 👍🏻👍🏻
-
Yeah this was great - I was lucky enough to have lessons from Ian over a few years and it was an amazing experience. I miss those times ! He is just an all round great guy! thanks for posting the vid

So I've used my Moog Little Phatty several times in church, most often at the bigger events like Christmas or Easter when there are some "performance" songs. It sounds awesome (imo 😂😂). (But you do have to make sure the keys player leaves you the bandwidth...)
-
Yeah you need to persevere! I've played 5s exclusively for decades and they're ideally suited to contemporary Christian music, but don't overdo the low B, C, D ! With good IEM you should be able to hear all the low notes clearly. Never come across a song with a walking bass line in church - what was that then?

Looks and sounds good Trevor - nice one 👍🏻

Your logic is impeccable 😂😂

NOW FREE TO GOOD HOME!! NEED THE SPACE… Tatty but secure flight/road case for Moog which fits the Sub37 and the Little Phatty very snugly. Space for cables, pedal etc. Crack in pull up handle taped so functional and wheels roll nicely. Genuine Moog item which had a silly price when new. Collection only due to size.

James is a super nice bloke to deal with and he was good enough to sell me back my Spector NS5H2 which I foolishly sold in 2021 via Bass Direct !!! Thank you James - it was great meeting you. Hope it won’t be the last time.

My trick to see left from right is a little blob of tippex (remember that!!!) on the left one! My personal preference are the silicone tips….

Reading this thread I’m starting to feel rather grateful that we mostly do more recent stuff, y’know like “make room”, “holy forever”, “he lives” etc… 😇 (although I luckily get to do the old hymns when I playing the organ for the local Anglican once a month) - the best of both worlds !!

A very happy KZ user here. Had mine about 4 years with no issues apart from replacing the cable after 2 years of being twisted all over the place. I plug it into a 3m extension cable to give me more room to move around! interested in the foam v silicone debate as I’ve always much preferred silicone and couldn’t get on with fiddling with foam. Took a while to get the right size/fit though. As others have said a good snug fit transforms the sound for bass. No distortion using my 5 string basses👍🏻
