1. Have a bump for a nice Beatles vinyl collection!!!!😜😜. GLWTS
2. Ha ha! Think it's just the time of year mate and lack of cash. I've got a bass up for sale too but not much happening! I must say your GB Rumour is a lovely bit of kit! GLWTS 👍
3. Very kind of you thanks! I'm very much in two minds on the Shuker, whilst with the Maruszczyk it's the string spacing 😀 I do love a nice natural wood finish as you can tell! Have a great weekend.
4. Very eagle-eyed of you! Bridge positioning was "normal" on the original strings but I like the smooth feel of Elixir nanowebs so put a new set on, and yes, the A string needed to be where it is - intonation spot on although I'll double check it. Perhaps I was just "unlucky" with that set of strings! Although I love nanowebs they aren't always the greatest for consistency imo 😜
5. PM's replied to - lots of interest, but still available. If you were thinking of a new Maruszczyk, you should consider this one! It is beautifully made, fit and finish are excellent, and the twin Delano's with 3 way switching give huge variety. £500 less than list price and in new condition with all the documentation,M gig bag etc. Cash only though, no trades please. Thanks for looking. Sensible offers considered.
6. Thanks - it's even better in real life - the colour is much "warmer" than the photos show 😀
7. Ha ha Wilco, thanks. "I promise no more GAS - make me an offer" sort of bump.
8. Thanks guys - it is indeed a beauty. Sell the cabs!!!
9. Special offer, as I've been tempted by a Warwick elsewhere 😜 £1,200 . That's £400 less than new price and it is in new, unmarked condition. Come on all you Maruszczyk fans! PM if interest. Delivery can be arranged.
10. I had one of these in black oil finish as my main "go-to" instrument - swamp ash, but not the lightest of basses - however, I agree the wood is rather soft and prone to buckle rash on the rear. They are however, tone monsters! Absolutely fantastic range of tones and the typical Warwick "punch" that can knock out windows! Also first rate build quality and silent electronics. I was sad to see mine go - this one is a bargain in my opinion, so someone is going to be very happy indeed. You won't regret it 👍
11. I think you're all being a bit hard on fellow bass-chatter Miguel (Kusku) - he seems to have good feedback over several years 👍 A lovely bass, just missing a string for me 😜 So, is it actually sold?
12. Here's another picture of this wonderful instrument - new Shuker arriving in 3 or 4 weeks !
13. Yes, a beauty indeed, but 19mm spacing not working for me sadly. Now with the correct spelling of Maruszczyk (sorry Adrian!) And here's a picture again. It is in new condition but much much cheaper than new !
14. NOW £1,200 (ONO)..Up for grabs is a mint condition Maruszczyk Elwood 5a that has only been gigged on a handful of occasions in a church environment. I'm finding the 19mm string spacing doesn't suit my small hands! List price was £1,700 and bought from Bass Direct March 17 for £1,600. So I'm going to take a hit, and you'll get a discount and avoid a wait of several months! Here are the specs: - Alder body with gorgeous maple burl top - Fantastic birds-eye maple neck - Delano SBC pick ups with lovely range of tones - Delano 3 band EQ - 3 way switching on each pickup (series/single coil/parallel) - Hip shot B bridge and lightweight Hipshot tuners - 19mm string spacing at the bridge - Very light weight c3.7kg Photos should appear below. Comes with Maruszczyk gig bag and all original paperwork, certificates etc. Oh and new Elixir strings were fitted last month. Please PM me if interested of if you would like any more information. I'd rather not try and despatch (but might consider it) and am based in Essex, but travel to London daily. Dave (now with correct spelling - silly me!)
15. Lovely, and nice tight string spacing too !! GLWTS
16. Nearly sold it but buyer had to withdraw 😥 Part of me was quite pleased, but there are a couple of things I have my eye on and the new Shuker should be finished soon. So drop me a note via PM if you're interested. Sensible offers always considered! Cheers Dave
17. I like your playing so much I've subscribed to your YouTube channel! I don't think I missed it in your listing but what is string spacing at bridge? Cheers Dave
18. Thanks Rolf - shipping to Germany not a problem and no VAT or Duties to worry about. Regret no sound samples though...it is very versatile and the three band EQ plus the pull/up on the volume gives a "slap" tone...Dave
19. Ha, ha, thanks - That's a useful measuring tip (why didn't I think of that?!) I happen to have it with me at work today for a session with the legendary Ian King at the Savoy Theatre this evening - just measured it very carefully and total distance is 69.5mm which equals spacing of 17.35mm ! Thanks, and I'll amend the main post too Dave PS - forgot to mention it comes with a Shuker Hard Case made by Hiscox in tip top condition
20. Hi there, no I've not adusted it - that's how it came. (Not easy to measure and tell difference between 17/17.5/18mm to be honest). If you click on the last picture in the earlier post of the bridge and "zoom in" you can see that each bridge piece is held in place in a slotted opening by an Allen-Key head. So you just loosen, slide, and re-tighten! personally I think these Schaller bridges are a work of art, so I've specified the same bridge on my new bass. Hope that helps. Cheers Dave
21. Last bump (probably!) Go on, you know it makes sense!! 😜
22. I've been asked about string spacing as Jon's website says 17mm. The bridge is a fantastic piece of engineering and is adjustable so it's set at [s]18[/s]mm but I believe can go from 17-19mm but I think 19mm might be too tight to the neck edge. I'll try and add a photo! (NB - see later - the string spacing is actually set at 17.35mm (or maybe 17.5mm)
