    Had both. Had a 2 eq for 16 years - sold it. Perfectly acceptable sound. Now have a 3eq - don't really touch the mid much. Sounds just as good as the 2eq to my ears.

    I started to suffer quite badly from the middle of this year - as it's in just the one ear I think it was infection related but who knows. I can live with the tinnitus but the 'crosstalk' really p1sses me off. BB - Elacin ER20's can be had for less than a tenner, you hardly notice them and it cuts post gig ringing down to negligable - YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE!

    I had a Corvette standard active a couple of years back (ash) and TBH it had plenty of growl in passive mode. I rarely used it active as the sound got a bit too harsh - I mainly used it for a bit of vol gain on some songs in the set

Mine was satin finished but after about 10 years wear it was pretty glossy. The finish was very similar to the headstock lacquer on the current basses.

    I would've thought that US instruments would be on the 'up' again now that the £/$ is in the toilet? Glad I hung on to my Ray instead of letting it go for a daft price.........would still like a Modulus tho

My MIA P (2004) feels pretty much the same as my 2005 Ray - 1.625". The 'old P's were 1.75" (Fenderheads will give you more exact info) My 1990 Ray (now departed) felt slightly chunkier but that was lacquered as opposed to oil finished. Not sure about the age of yours - 80's? (My 1990 didn't have the skunk stripe - i.e. like the current neck).

    Rich, I'm another one for not worrying about thru body. My G&L and Std US - I've had strung both ways and really can't tell any difference. To be honest, the only reason I go thru on the G&L de rigour is to put less stress on the bridge screws. And FWIW the MM Ray has a thicker sound than either if dialled in PS....if I had the cash I'd go Sad. The only reason I don't have one is because I'd have to sell all mine to buy one.

    I've been so impressed with me L2500 that I'd really like to try one of these. But I'd have to sell the Ray or P bass - damn 3 bass rule....

Must admit tho, the attention to detail on the US made is awesome. Quarter sawn offset cut necks, best neck-body join I've ever seen and blemish free finish. I'd put it a notch above MM and Lakky Skyline (and 2 above US Fender) in this regard - can't understand why they aren't more popular.

I love the US 2500 I just got from a fellow BC'er; I had a good go on a US and a Tribby recently and 'eyes closed' couldn't tell the difference.
