1.
Pretty much what Dad said. A bit too 'wet' with reverb for my own personal taste which I think robs the low end of a little authority, but others may like that.
+1
2. I have never had a Wal or even played one I dont really like the looks of them but that is just a personal thing but everyone is entitled to there own opinion whether they like Wals or any other bass
3. Never been to the Gallery myself but I have heard nothing but praise for them
4. Lovely Jubbly thanks Dannybuoy much appreciated
5.
You'll want a DPDT on-on-on switch for that - I have a diagram somewhere, I'll post it up later!
Lovely that would be great I had a feeling I wanted an on on on switch but just got on off on as the nordy diagram had one of those. Anyway a diagram would be lovely thanks
6. Put it on an oven tray then put another weighted tray on top place in a VERY low oven keep checking it job sorted
7. Hi Guys I am experimenting with my Traben bass what I am trying to do is put a parallel/single/series switch in the pickup installed in my bass is a Rockfield and it has Red black green and white wires coming from it plus the ground sleeve wrap I have tried wiring it from a Nordstrand wiring diagram this one http://nordstrandpickups.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/MM-Pickup-Diagram.pdf as I cannot find any Rockfield diagrams on line I have tried both ways on the linked diagram and am not getting any joy I am using a DPDT on/off/on switch what I would like to know is does anyone know how I should wire this up? as I am a bit stuck without a proper wiring diagram. Many thanks in advance
8. Bump these traben basses are so under rated glwts
9. Yes the old blue one was bloody heavy and that put me off buying one which is a great shame as I really wanted one at the time
10.
I always used Fender P's but tried a Warwick Corvette $$ and loved the sound and feel, I sold my Shuker P Bass and a Fender Deluxe P to get two German Warwick Corvette $$'s and I'm well happy with them and cant see me changing. The Fender Deluxe was fine just preferred the Warwick sound. One thing though about Fenders is that I read so much about finding a good one, surely they should all be good at the price they sell for, no exceptions.
This is a very good post
11. I much prefer the old blue one IMO I think the West Ham logo on the front of the new one looks really cheap and tacky but might be OK for a football fan? I wonder if the new logo will get punters mouthing off at the player of this bass? because we all know football talk and beer=trouble lol
12.
Where there's money to be made you'll always get chancers. There's quite a few 'traders' on BC who wouldn't know one end of a bass guitar or amp from another. They just buy and sell stuff to make a few quid.
spot on traders should be banned from using the market place as they are not supposed to use it any way this is one of the reasons why I only buy from membes I know but prefer selling on eBay as there is to many time wasting pricks on BC now which is a shame
13. Really like this but no funds ATM
14. Not my cup of tea I am afraid but looks like a ton of time and effort has gone in to it
15. I find Warwick red labels really bright and zingy and they are good value too IMO
16. I think the second one is the Jake it sounds just a touch more defined and modern but I am more guessing than knowing for sure they both sound nice IMO
17. Hi Paul my mate just got back to me and it is not for him so just letting you know in case you have a sale with anyone else lined up GLWTS and thanks

20.
If you can ship it, I'll have it Cheers Mike (Pestie)
LOL your a bass buying machine
21. Not long after he passed there was someone on ebay selling a ton of his amps and stuff
22. I think the basschat column is a great idea and I take my hat off to Sylvia for doing it but unfortunately for me it still don't feel the urge to by it just to read the BC column . it used to be a good read but I gave up reading it ages ago as it was just pretty much the same old stuff in it month in month out and so I gave up spending my hard earned cash on it (by the way how much is it nowadays?) really sorry if my comment seems negative as I know a lot of hard work goes in to the mag.
23. have tried to love flats but I just do not seem to get on with them and I am not really sure why I have tried a few different brands but just go back to rounds I think I like the "twang" of rounds more for the music I play but also do love the sound of flats just so mellow maybe I will try some more in the future
24. I bought a bass from Paul and it was just as described and I am very happy with it Paul's communication was most excellent and he packed the bass very well and sent me all the tracking details I would deal with Paul anytime Thanks for a nice easy hassle free deal mate
