Buzz Feiten Tuning system - anyone tried it?
Thunderbird replied to Naetharu's topic in Bass Guitars
I had this on a Washburn bass I once owned and to be honest I did not notice anything different on the bass that had the buzz system and one that did not -
I have been using this very amp for 18 months now with no problems and it is tons better than the TC amp I had before it if you crank it up gosh it is loud I like the fact that it plays really nicely with my active basses too as IMO many amps do not like actives. This is a top notch bit of kit for the price but the downside is that it weighs about as much as a small planet lol. If I was gigging I would want some thing lighter, and as mentioned in Marks great review about the noisy fan this is something I am not getting with mine Smashing review Mark
These threads always seem to get very polarised for some reason. I don't understand why people seem to get slightly irritated about the fact that other people really like Fender basses... and some don't. It's just one of those brands that seems to press that button. Like Barefaced... I don't understand the sometimes very vociferous opposition to those who prefer Alex's cabs. Oh well, stay tuned - I'm working on a very fine Behringer NAD thread at the moment, so that'll really bring the haters out of the woodwork!
I agree it is all down to personal taste I am in no way a Fender hater as you know but I do think IMO that there are much superior basses around for much less. Maybe I should of called the thread "some Fenders are rubbish" because as we all know you get 2 chances with a Fender you either get a good one or a dog. The best Fender I had was a MIM P by the way
I'll bear that in mind thanks. Loom aside, the cavity would have to be routed and I have nowhere near the skill set to even make a decent attempt. Would it be easier to go to a guitar shop?
Yes but would cost a bit if routing for the pup

After reading through it seems that Fenders are more favored as they are a kind of set and forget bass and I can understand why they are used a lot for gigging as they are simple and there is not much to go wrong on them I guess but I think WOT has a really good point about those Jake basses they look great and I have not heard any bad things about them regarding quality and reliability The same goes for Sandbergs great basses and really well priced compared to a Fender I think I am not going to go out of my way to get another Fender as I do still believe that my other basses just blow them away but never say never lol but I must say I would not buy another Fender blind as the quality is shocking for the price they are , I think that every instrument they make should be great quality but it is about 50/50 now I would guess. At the end of the day I suppose its horses for courses

So I had always used Fender P or J basses in the past I have had a couple of Mexicans and a couple of USA ones and used them for quite a long time but then I started trying out other makes of Bass such as Traben, Jackson,ESP etc etc and IMO they blew the Fenders out of the water in every respect and I have not owned a Fender for a while now as I felt that they were crap compared to the other basses about and they are very overpriced IMO.....But I still have a Fender hankering even though I would never really use it as my other basses are better so I wonder why I would want another Fender could it just be that a Fender is the bass everyone should have in there arsenal? who knows anyone else had this thought?

I love music but never really get to listen to it in fact we do not even have a stereo system in the house I think having young kids put a stop to me having much music on and when I did listen to music I used to do it in the car but as I am unable to drive anymore (due to medical reasons) I really do not get the chance to listen to much and if I do it is on the laptop with rubbish speakers

Wayne just bought some strings from me and it was a nice easy deal instant payment and great communication 10/10

That is over double what they are worth they normally go for around the 350 mark for a good example

If it was me I would spend some money upgrading the bass you have ie pup and hardware as it would still be better than most MIM basses in your price range the only thing with the V4 is they are pretty heavy so a MIM will be lighter but may be worth saving a bit more and picking up a used USA P bass

OK have listened to this a few more times and have decided that I am not to keen on it there is a couple of good tracks but that's it IMO I just don't think Maiden gel as a band anymore despite having some of the best musical talent in the metal genre now. I much prefer the older stuff it seems that the newer records are just made for the sake of it but that is just my opinion

I need to listen to it a couple more times before I make judgement not blown away right now but like I said need to digest it more the playing is bloody great though
