7. Must admit I am not really in to the looks of the bass, but I do not like any basses from any maker in the coffee table style so really I guess I am not being fair about how it looks as it is obviously down to personal taste I can tell it has been done to a high standard I like the black hardware and I am quite amazed with the electronics part of the bass some thought and skill went in to getting that wired and running looking forward to sound samples enjoy the bass mate
 8. This should of sold by now Traben basses are so under rated
 9.
ok, i got some new strings. fairly budget but the most i could afford to throw in at this particular moment. i got a set of picato stainless flats as i liked the look of them. if nothing else comes from this, i think i will be sticking with flats from now on, absolutely love the feel and sound of them. still having some issues with her though. i have been messing with the set up a little and using two songs as a reference. on the CD player i have been using pink floyd's money and on youtube i have been using jamiroquai's too young to die. those songs just because they are what i have been on lately. it doesnt sound out on the CD player so perhaps it is that video that is sped up/slowed down that caused the problem there. it has thrown a couple of new issues into the mix though (inevitably there all along but at least now the strings are not the issue). i tuned up on the tuner to 440Hz (checked against the guitars to be sure of it) open strings and found something odd. it tunes up fine on the open strings but fretted at the 12th fret E+A read a little higher and D+G read a little lower. i did the various adjustments, action, intonation and neck relief, and i am happy with how it plays but i worry that this indicates a twisted neck. i'm not sure how worthwhile it would be going to a luthier to be honest. the bass is cheap so the build quality wont be that good, would probably be better putting the money towards a better quality one.
Sounds like the nut is at fault here as Mr Manton Customs said earlier on in the thread if the strings are good and the basic set up is good (or very close) cant be much else other than the nut or a buggered neck, out of interest if it has a bolt on neck are the screws nice and tight?
 10. Hohners are great basses but so under rated this looks like a mighty fine example GLWTS
 11. Hi is there any trades on this or just a cash sale? thanks

Thanks in advance
 17.
Good point! Although this one comes with the original white SP in addition to the black one which I prefer! Maybe I should put the white one back on and take some more photos...
I agree also I think the EMG pups will put a lot of Jazz bass purists off, personally I love active basses so many more options than a passive GLWTS mate
 18. I always used to use Direct Courier Solutions (they supposedly specialize in shipping guitars and the like but in reality you get interlink express turn up to collect your parcel and they ram it in the van any old how) but they smashed up a bass I was sending and then refused to pay out insurance and got really sh*tty via email when I complained I think UPS seems to get the best reviews but IMO I think they all try and worm the way out of paying out claims.
 19. LOL that was class but back on topic GLWTS of the amp

 23.
Here's the Fender guide for setting bass action ... http://www2.fender.c...ar-setup-guide/ The harder you dig in the higher action you'll require to give the string space to vibrate.
Yep agreed start with the guide and tweak to how you like, IMO there is no right or wrong way, it is up to the player how they like there bass
 24. Try these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Olympia-Flat-Wound-Electric-Bass-Guitar-Strings-45-100-/331630926569?hash=item4d36be5ae9:g:XcEAAOxy0NtTFHoh I am not a lover of flats of any brand but I tried these out and they felt and sounded just as good as anything else I tried
