I watched the youtube isolated bass track of "Wont Get Fooled Again" on Wednesday and was once again gobsmacked. Legend.

Playing was beautiful, and she did write it, so two out of three ain't bad. Oops, sorry, that was somebody else. And I heard Elkie Brooks on the same Ken Bruce slot last week, and I didn't think she was any better.

Earlier this year (where does the time go?) there was talk of Andertons putting in a concerted effort to increase their bass prescence. Anybody visited recently and noticed any improvement? Worth a visit??

Im sure I looked at the 500 in Andertons earlier this year, and despite the F hole, thought it was heavier than I expected it to be. I do worry about the finish on the brown basses, looks like ot would wear away with little provocation. Perhaps I'm wrong.

He hasn't said it is a Fender Bass, made in California in 1997 or 1998. Suitably vague misleading wording. Lets send Bass Guardian round to give him a slap!

Perhaps the seller has bid on his own (Encore) bass to encourage other bids?

He (cleverly) hasn't actually claimed it to be anything other than a Precision bass.

We had a wonderful lead guitarist. Lovely bloke. Never answered emails, never answered his phone or texts. Wound the "leader of the band" up to the point HE was going to quit, so in the end we agreed he had to go. Listening back to the recordings we made at the time, he is a sad loss to our sound, but the band would have disintegrated had it continued as it was. A lose/lose situation but what can you do? Weve continued without him, in a different direction that doesn't need spirited fills and solos, but secretly I miss those days!

Idly looking at the pic, could it be a left hand bridge? Might possibly be the reason.

I bought one of the last in circulation in Feb this year, had to settle for an ex demo one. I think that particular boat has sailed by now. I'm so glad I got it though, after a couple of years of being a Fender Anti, I am won over. The fit and finish, the sound, the action, the way the fretboard edges are rounded..... I could go on! No idea how the successors are though.

Strikes me this has happened quicker than things are usually phased out. Hate the plastic fivers, but I guess I will just have to put up with them. Its either them or holey pound coins I suppose!

Must admit I'm tempted. She's been flogging it to death on Facebook. I can think of worse things to spend a tenner on, but I would appreciate a review. And I love her new look!!!

It's the choice of songs that makes Gravelands so special. Love the band as well. Elvis impersonators are two a penny, but to hear "Elvis" singing songs he just couldn't have I find hilarious. First time I heard it, it was palying at a stall in Camden Market. I was listening to it as my Mrs was browsing, thinking, could it really be?? Asked the stall owner what it was and he explained. Managed to buy the CD from the record shop near the canal bridge on our way back to the car.

The US Standard is no longer in production as a model so is bound to be old stock. Depends on what you paid of course but the current alternatives are 1500-1600 earth pounds.

I bought a Black with maple board P in February Ex demo old stock. I seem to remember the blurb on the website said it was 2012. I'm over the moon with it, it's beautiful.

We've been through six in three years now. They're all mad!! I think it's time to recruit a drum machine.......
