  1. Doesn't get any choppier than the EHX Super Pulsar. I love mine.
  2. I was actually thinking about this very characteristic actually. I was hoping to find a thread in the Amps/Cabs section which might explain these details to give me a better understanding but I couldn't find one. If I can source some info regarding overpowering cabs then this might help.
  3. So after a bit of research, the SA Tap Tempo button seems to be just the ticket. Is anyone else using one for the same application?
  4. I shall be taking delivery of a Source Audio Aftershock over the next few days so am seeking advice on the switching capabilities. I understand that it is possible to customise 2 different overdrive tones using the left and right channels which can then each be sent to a dedicated output. So, I am looking for possible switching options which come after the Aftershock in the effects chain which dictates which of the outputs is sent to the amp. I am hoping to stay away from the MIDI approach, instead want a hands free approach to go through levels of gain. Specifically, I am hoping to have 3 levels of tone: Clean (everything bypassed) -> low dirt (Aftershock Output 1) -> high dirt (Aftershock Output 2) with a remote switcher controlling the output channel Firstly, is this application possible and secondly, which switching devices may be considered (as inexpensive as possible ideally). As always, all input is greatly appreciated.

  6. I agree with TheGreek. I have been eyeing this up for a while myself and have been very curious. I just wish there was a way that I could have a wee go on it before committing to purchase.
  7. I think I am actually slightly more confused now than when I started the thread.
  8. This is all great insight. Many thanks to all who have offered advice. Now to find someone in Glasgow who can take care of the work.
  9. Nae bother. If by some miracle it does become availableagain then I'll take it.
  10. Darn it. Foiled again. You go offline for an hour only to find the amp you have been waiting for becomes available and gets sold in the time. Gutted.
  11. So I was just in the middle of restringing my bass when I noticed this... Just wondering if those notches where the strings sit is something to be concerned by? I must admit that lately I have noticed that the E sting (this bass is tuned E-C, so the lowest string) has lacked a certain punch and presence lately - could the zero fret have anything to do with that? Cheers in advance
  12. Would love to go for this but for the 300w power handling required to be compatible with my head.
  13. There's a guy local to me that does this exact stuff. Check him out and his previous work here... http://www.hoffnine.co.uk

  15. So I have downsized from a large 4x10 and currently in the market for a smaller, more portable cab with the future option to add to it IF needed. Top of the list is an Aguilar DB112 but lately I have been strangely drawn to the world of the Phil Jones bass cab philosophy an looking at the C4 cab. But therein lies the issue, I have never played through a PJB cab so have no idea what to expect. So with that in mind, is there anyone out there willing to give their verdict on these cabs? What can I accept tonally? What kind of volume practice/gig would it be best suited to? And for anyone who might have experience in both the DB112 and C4, how does it compare? Its also probably worth mentioning that I use a Markbass LMII which I have owned since 2006 and that is a keeper, so is there any way of getting an idea of how the LMII and C4 might work together. Ordinarily, I would head over to Youtube but there appears to be a real dearth of videos on the C4. Pretty vague question, I realise, but any input would be great. Thanks all.
  16. I keep coming back to this because frankly it's one of the best looking basses I've ever seen. If it had one more string I would have had this off you. I may yet still.

  18. Out of interest, did you go down the route of drilling holes for the unit to be attached under the board? If so, how has that worked out? I am happy to do this but the supplied screws seem rather pronounced and have quite a large raise in the head which I imagine would interfere with pedals mounted directly above.
  19. So after having a brief behind the scenes chat with @Al Krow and realising I could probably do with a couple more isolated outputs in order to future proof my board, I have decided to move on my Strymon Ojai (previously shown in this thread) and instead try out the Truetone CS6. Should arrive on Monday so will be sure to feedback here when I have had a proper play around with it.
  20. Recently bought a Darkglass pedal off Dave. Great price. Excellent communication. Speedy delivery. Well packaged item. What more could you ask for? Pleasure to deal with.
  21. Recently purchased a couple of pedals off Darren as part of his great pedal purge. Great communication and very accommodating. Pedals arrived well packaged with speedy delivery. Pleasure to deal with.
