  2. I owned one of these once before and I loved if but for the hard click switch. Does this have the same or soft click?

  4. Assuming this is still available, is there any chance of some additional pictures? Perhaps with natural sunlight. I'm very interested in this but I'd like a better understanding of the ash grain on the body. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hey all. So I recently relocated to Canterbury and desperate to get involved with the local music scene. I've got over 20 years experience playing in bands, recording and touring. Willing to consider must music types so please let me know if anyone needs a bass player.

  7. Interesting thread, this. I too am considering a 2 band drop-in active preamp (i.e. East) in my Fender Jazz, however, I am curious to know if an outboard/floor-based preamp pedal, like the Sadowsky SPB-2 Bass Preamp, would do the same thing? Or is that a totally kettle of fish?

  10. I'm very interested in this but my question is how easy would it be to string this up tuned E-C?
  11. I keep coming back to this in the hope its gone. Its a beaut and I have been hankering for a fretless for a while.
  12. This is gorgeous and if I was in a stronger financial position I would seriously consider this. I must say though that I find it kind of strange that Serek don't provide a hard case at this price point and I imagine that given their scale/length it might be difficult obtaining an after market one.
  13. I currently own the excellent Strymon DIG but recent pedal purchases mean that I no longer have space for it on my gigging board. As much as I would love to keep it that means I need to sell it to fund a replacement (keep an eye on the sales page soon). So right now I need your suggestions on a suitable dual digital delay pedal in a standard Boss size unit. Regarding functionality, ideally any recommendations can match the DIG. Personal experience with said pedal is preferable. Your input is fearfully received.

  15. Oh my... I have been on the look out for one of these for months. It you ever change your mind on it, consider it sold
  16. So I have decided to go for a silent home playing option. I recently picked up a rather excellent EBS Microbass II and the plan is to run that direct to some headphones. Now the question is - which headphones. I have earmarked the Audio Technica ath-m50x as a likely option but since I often play with lower octave pedals engaged I just want to be sure that the headphones will be suitable. I am not expecting the full sub/low frequency effect but I want to make sure I get a pair that will capture most of it whilst being hard wearing. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Would anyone recommend these particular headphones or others for this application? Any other advice?
  17. Over the years I have tried a bewildering range of overdrive/distortion pedals and never got on with any of them. The best option by far for me was to run both channels of the (very uncelebrated but awesome) Electro Harmonix LPB-2ube in a Boss LS-2 loop so as to keep a totally unaffected signal layered with the drive of the EHX. That way I had total control of the volumes for each channel. It was awesome and I would have totally kept to it if not for the flipping daft power supply required for the EHX. I often check to see if they have updated the pedal with a more secure powering option. Sadly not yet.

  19. On balance (sound, size and $$$), I would have to go for the Markbass.

  21. With reference to the OP, and to anyone else you might be interested in a achieving a similar setup, the TC Electronic Brainwaves is a very decent, cheap and compact alternative to adding multiple variable voicings to the original note (e.g. 5th above and octave below). The onboard pedal options are really quite expansive (inlcuding Whammy approximations) and the added Toneprint compatibility really makes it staggeringly versatile.
