  1. Worth getting a cheap set of digital luggage scales (less than a tenner on Amazon). Suspect the 5kg weight is exaggerated (I have never played a medium scale Alembic that weighed that much). Besides, a luggage scale is useful for those tricky airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet!!!!
  2. If this thread needs closure, after 13 years my rig now includes two DI-enabled preamps: a Tech21 Bass Fly Rig V2; and an EBS Valvedrive DI. 😀

  5. Sold some La Bella strings to Tony and all was fab! Enjoy 🙂
  6. In your feedback thread, an ACG sale comes up for May 2014. Unfortunately its to a BCer called @cana.danwho hasn't been on the site since 2017. Still worth PM'ing in case it pings through to his email
  7. Vin bought my 62 AVRI Jazz. The bass had a slightly controversial history but, after some string experimentation, Vin took a chance and trusted me even though I had offered try-before-buy. A gent eith friendly, funny comms and I look forward to his plans for the bass. Cheers!
  8. For anyone following this, I have a potential buyer but the bass needs delivery to friends of his when they return to London in a month. SO this will be 'On Hold' for some time!
  9. Might interest folks on here. Lots of competition now https://www.guitarworld.com/news/solidgoldfx-beta-v-bass-preamp

  19. Thank you! Going to take some time (cracked ribs take 3-6 weeks according to my friend Google) Meanwhile, I would take a near offer ... even though I think its underpriced as it is!!!!
  20. Wow, amazingly light and nice score! Calling @Lozz196
  21. Bought a lovely retro Kay reissue bass off Kris. Very friendly comms, bass packed to withstand nuclear assault, all excellent! Many thanks
  22. Went on a supposed "beginner's" horse ride last week, was bucked off and have cracked ribs and damaged right shoulder. Cannot play a bass at all as also lacerated left index finger on rein while being thrown. Am sure I will recover but it may take some time. I know the BC Basses For Sale forum relies on me, so I have that as an incentive to get better
  23. Nothing specific @Beedster Was just browsing a bunch of basses and one had an ebony board, so it was more for future reference and curiosity. Besides, after last week's horse riding accident, I couldn't pick up a ukelele let alone a bass
  24. Hopefully someone will be along to answer this: If one were to import a bass from the US, would it require CITES documentation if it had an ebony fingerboard? Thx
