  1. My bad its 3.5". Works well though https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0B9MT2WP2?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
  2. Some additional pics of the neck taken this morning. The action at the 12th fret (from crown of the fret to underside of E string) is just under 3mm, the same as on my Precision with TI flats.
  3. * Background: I bought this on the forum earlier this year but it turned out to be way too heavy for my glass back at 10.18 pounds, despite looking fabulous and playing/sounding beautifully with TI flats on. I sold it on eBay but then had to refund the buyer as the neck went bowed with higher tension roundwound strings than the TI flats. He took the bass to a luthier who added a washer to rectify the recessed truss rod nut but declared that the truss rod is broken and needs replacing. Subsequently, the BCer who sold this to me said that his luthier had checked the bass before selling and given it a clean bill of health. I believe the BCer sold the bass to me in good faith and have no reason to doubt his version of events. Having taken the bass back I have since tested the truss rod with higher tension flats (Dunlop 45-105) and, while the neck is certainly quick to bow after swapping from TI flats, the truss rod nut does appear to tighten the neck to compensate, so that medium/low action is possible: I cannot see that this would be possible if the truss rod was completely broken. Its now back to wearing TI flats again, with the truss rod adjusted for the lower tension, and plays really nicely - as before. * So .... I am selling as is, on the assumption the neck is viable and does not need replacing (which may well be correct based on one of two luthiers and my testing). If a potential buyer is a fan of a Jazz-with-TI-flats combination I am very confident they will like this bass. However, (1) I have further reduced the price given the disputed history and (2) I would like the buyer to be fully satisfied with what they have, so will send on a trial basis with payment only in the event the buyer is happy. As before it comes in very 1990s fugly but protective hard case. Collection SW London, south of Hammersmith Bridge, or deliver within UK at cost (which I will cover until the buyer confirms he/she is happy and then add to the total price). If the buyer is unhappy and returns the bass, I will cover both courier costs and punch myself in the face. Can't say fairer than that! Edit: obviously this offer applies only to UK-based BCers with a decent amount of positive feedback! Also, the bass will come with a padded, neoprene 3.5" wide strap which I bought to help distribute the weight on my shoulder better.
  4. You would be hard pressed to find an EUB of this quality for the money. If more background info is required, here is the 32 page (!) mega thread on Azola EUBs on TalkBass https://www.talkbass.com/threads/azola-eubs-megathread.367975/
  5. Messages crossed, ha! Yep, I am now sure you have a custom ordered Persuader with Spoiler pickup arrangement. Bet it sounds lush!
  6. Think I have figured this out. The Spoiler has a Q switch and 2 control knobs, whereas your bass has 3 control knobs, like the Persuader. I reckon someone custom ordered a Persuader with Spoiler pickup arrangements.
  7. I have no doubt you are correct about about the serial number. Just seems odd as I have only ever seen Persuaders with a PJ (and rarely JJ) configuration and Spoilers with the dual AXY pickups. Here are some marketing ads from Alembic in the 1990s. Doesn't actually matter much of course as its a lovely bass!!!! Again, GLWYS
  8. Thats a Spoiler, not a Persuader. Fabulous bass! GLWYS Edit: it is in fact a Persuader! See discussion below. Apologies!
  9. Well, Jack. Who'd a thunk it? I believe was at that gig too. So have you been stalking me these past 46 years? 🤣
  10. Bump! Gibsons don't have a great rep around these (BC) parts but this is a genuinely decent bass which gives my several-times-pricier Serek Midwestern a run for its money.
  11. Found a video of someone playing a Bugbass (note: this was a version of the instrument with more rounded shoulders) to give you an idea of the sound
  12. Happy to start a new feedback thread. Arnold bought my Sansamp Programmable pedal. Clear arrangements for collection, paid as agreed. Basically all good! Thanks, Arnold
  13. Hi Marc, its solid as far as I can tell. The weight is 5.94kg or 13.1 pounds, without side rest.
  14. On hold, pending sale
  15. Thank heavens for the ignore function
  16. Bought on the forum in September 2021, very portable EUB from the highly-respected (and no longer manufacturing) Azola. Planned for use at a series of gigs in Scotland in 2021 that ended up being cancelled ... and I have not subsequently had any need for it, so testing the waters to see if any interest? Full 3/4 sized DB neck, with piezo pickup (with front facing volume control). Comes with side rest, Innovation Silver Slap strings (plus original La Bella strings) and gigbag. Side dots on neck are stickers I applied which can be removed easily. Last pic is from the previous owner to show how it looks with La Bella strings; note, I don't think I have the stand, I play using the endpin). I will sell for a bargainous £899. Pickup or meet close to SW13 (London south of Hammersmith Bridge) preferred.
  17. Please someone buy this as (a) its a great bit of kit and virtually as new and (b) to save me from eBay chancers making ridic lowball offers. I thank you
  18. So cool. I wish I had a use for this!!!! GLWYS
  19. Really nice playing 2009 SG bass in faded/worn black. Versatile rock bass which only weighs around 7.5 pounds. Amazing condition (only sign of use I can see is a small indentation on side of fretboard, pictured). Basically looks like it sat in its hard case unused for all of its life while small rodents chewed at the outside of the case (which still functions perfectly). Without the glossy nitro finish of the SG Standard bass the neck is much easier and slicker to play, in my view. I am cutting my bass collection down as my band's one and only festival gig in diary has been cancelled and there is nothing planned for the foreseeable. Hence no trades. £825 including UK post, or £800 collected from SW13 London.
  20. Another resuscitation of this thread. Just sold my AVRI Jazz to D!ck (had to use ! as BC autocorrected, sigh. Met him at nearby train station and had a good chat. He has been mainly playing with Ray Davies for last deacde or so but, as that has wound down, he is now playing in friend's band, the Cripple Creek Band, playing classic Americana/rock like CSNY etc. Super friendly guy with a lot of stories to tell!
  21. OP says "A previous owner made a rout in the back for a battery. This was filled before my ownership"
