  1. Bumping this to keep it on the radar. Please note, due to riding accident last week (resulting in cracked ribs etc), I do not currently have the physical ability to pack etc but I reckon it should be possible within a week (or at least I hope so)
  2. Tremendous playing on that video. 👏
  3. More rock than disco but has those late 70s electronic drums: Rock n Roll Fantasy - Bad Company
  4. Hmmmm, its between Black Diamond, RnR All Nite and Crazy Crazy Nights for me. However, on the wholly logical grounds I had an electric Kiss toothbrush that played it as I cleaned my pegs, its gotta be RnR All Nite
  5. Need to get yourself over to the Off Topic .... Dogs thread, Richard and introduce Olive! Link here: Meanwhile, once I have recovered sufficiently to swap strings, play around with truss rod etc, there is an interested BCer who wants to see if this AVRI 62J holds up with lower tension rounds. On a sort of 'soft hold' for him as I just am not up to it physically right now.
  6. On hold, pending me recovering sufficiently from horse bucking injury to be able to post
  7. Nope, Pablo and Woody the sausage dogs! (Weird mid-blink shot of Pablo)
  8. Definitely cannot use the dual strap as went on a supposed "beginner's" horse ride yesterday, was bucked off and have cracked ribs and damaged right shoulder. Cannot play a bass at all in fact as also lacerated left index finger on rein while being thrown. Woop
  9. Reckon you will enjoy the Mustang, Loz. With La Bella Mustang flats, my old one sounded sufficiently close to a Precision in my country punk band that I doubt anyone in the audience would have noticed the difference sound-wise. Example: VID-20191214-WA0002.mp4
  10. Actually, call it £75 posted. Who's arguing a fiver between friends? Save 25% for just a couple of hour's use
  11. Seconded. The only time I had to adjust the bridge slots (or nut) was when I swapped to massive gauge guts. Any steel string should work on your bridge. FWIW, I had great success with Spiro Solos 3/4 tuned to EADG (aka orchestral) when I had Spiros as the tension was very easy on my hands and they still had that characteristic growl. I believe Miroslav Vitous uses the same and he has a wonderful tone. See here
  12. I bought this to see if I could handle the weight of my >10 pound Jazz bass. Unfortunately, I just don't like a strap on each shoulder, feels wrong to me after 40 odd years of playing with the bass resting on my left shoulder. Take advantage of my experimentation. Cost me close to £100 from Gear4Music (most retailers are out of stock, G4M just put its price up today to £98 plus post). Yours for £75 including post within UK. Received Saturday, for sale Monday and a couple of hour's home use only.
  13. So the Gruv Gear Duostrap just feels odd to me: 40-odd years with a strap slung over one shoulder is just too ingrained in me. The bass is back up for sale
  14. This should help
  15. Fair do's. Horses for courses and all that. I would rather have a Hipshot bridge, handmade woodworking and modern neck fretting technology etc ... but its all academic given the price. $3,700 plus $200 shipping plus c.20% VAT/import duty equates to just over £3,800 at today's dollar/£ exchange rate.
  16. Not cheap ($3,700) but very cool IMHO
  17. Not me. But, given my shameful record, a reasonable guess!
  18. Sanity check: you are Old Horse Murphy. Nah!
  19. I put in a dummy UK address and it comes to £37 delivered via ParcelForce 48 (or £80 with UPS, eeeek)
  20. I spent an hour this afternoon playing the bass and its fabulous in all respects bar the weight .... actually nicer than my old Precision ... hence my last chance saloon attempt to see if I can cope with >10 lb. We will see
  21. I am going to put this on Hold for a day or so as I have just ordered a Gruv Gear Duostrap to see if I can cope with a 10.2 pound bass if I have straps on both shoulders. If this experiment doesn't work out I will restore this to full sale (and probably end up selling the Gruv Gear strap at my usual BC loss!) So, for those interested in the bass, please give me a day or two's grace!
  22. The original documents that come with this bass. Please note: I might be able to post, although it could well work out at £30+ given the dimensions
  23. Saw Lizzo at O2 this evening. Did not expect her to start one song with the opening of Yes' Heart of the Sunrise. See here (not my video) from an earlier gig on the tour
