1. Could be a Charvel? Or maybe not
2. If you go to Bjork's old website there's a full album of Army of Me covers! Here
3. I'd see if you can get a decent try of either (even if it's for a rehearsal) & see what you prefer. Other option is to buy one & if you don't like it, sell it on here & get the other (the LMII might be the best route to choose first if you do, as you can easily sell for what you'd pay). I like the LMII a lot, but I've never used or tried any TCE stuff.
4. I've just watched that video! I bet the 2 blokes standing playing bits of wood & gabbering gibberish would love to deny the existence of this clip! Sime17, your country is not alone. Us up here have a made up language for winding up tourists (& English types). I believe Ireland, Yorkshire & Cornwall have similar gobildygook too (although I'm led to believe Yorkies & Cornettos try to speak it to one another too). Back on topic, that is a pretty good bassline.
5. Most of Medulla is just human voice. I like Triumph of the Heart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvgVsxaqYgA&feature=related
6. I saw her in Vegas about 3-4 years ago & was outstanding. I've been trying to find out what the round light up table was with the accoutriments was that they used for Desired Constellation. Any ideas?
7. I've got the app for it on my iPhone & can download tracks, but haven't as yet. I might just do that tonight.
8. Is it an Aria? or maybe a Westone???
9. I'll get a listen to this version after work. She does have one of those voices you either love or hate. Post is a brilliant album (which this is from). My fave bassline to play on it is Army Of Me. It's a bit of a workout (not hard, just tough on my hand position). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3biZkA-TNvs The notes are Bb, C, Bb, Ab, G, Bb, C.
10. Brilliant bit of programmed beats, especially the breaks in the last 40 or so seconds! The vocals are ok, but could be better (sounds a bit like Lo Fidelity Allstars with them).
11. Is it a Cort?
12. I'm finding the easiest (though not the cheapest) way to achieve that is with a low pass filter. I can either have it so the expression pedal controls the cutoff, or I can take a lead from the follower into either the cutoff (so the harder I dig the more it opens), into the resonance (adds more "squeak") or into the amount (if I'm wanting a funky wah when I slap or dig in).
13. We should have more of this sort of stuff on here. Wait a minute, there's a section I rarely seem to go into (& I've no idea why)... Here
14. I'm only here because I'm working!
15. Bad back? Drill a 1/4" hole in the lower horn (towards the middle a bit) on your bass & get a monopod for a camera & attach it to your bass (or a tripod if you want to go for a walk without your bass). Now say goodbye to that hideous strap & remove those ugly knobbly buttons.
16. Very nice. Good review (or should I say bad review as I now want one!).
17. Great topic! I love playing bass, especially get DnB or Dubstep sounds. Got flatwounds on my bass & can roll off all the top with the Moog LPF & bring it in as a swell on longish notes. Immense at volume
18. My moog MF-101 used to whine like a shortwave radio. I got some sticky backed copper paper & put it on the wood sides & made sure that connected with the chassis & put it on it's own PSU. Noise free now I don't know if you could copper shield the BEF? Hopefully Will has your answers.
19. You need to extend your tour up this waay!
20. Semi para 4 band? LMII maybe? Wait a min, didn't the ABM replace that? If you're after a valve sound why not get a clean amp (like the LMII or whatever else) & add a pedal such as the DHA VT1 or a Sansamp?
21.
I think I know where you're coming from, but to avoid assumptions, why?
If you're asking me about the Gramma Pad, then it's because it reduces the vibrations that can be enhanced by hollow stages/wooden floors. if you're asking JTUK, then I haven't a scooby
22. I can't advise on the cab, but have you tried just dropping either the 180hz or 340hz slider to see if that helps? The other thing that might help is a Gramma Pad (if your cab is on a stage/wooden floor).
23. I'm sure there's a mod you can do to store the stations.
24. Another double bass??? What about this...
25. You could probably get a 2nd hand Little Phatty for less than £750. I'm tempted!
