That's pretty low and cowardly + if you have been working together so long, he should have been approaching you, face to face, to say that he was not happy and what could be done to resolve quite some time ago/ What a cowardly pr*ck. If you are going to fire someone, face to face and tell them straight. I say, keep your head up as he is clearly a prima donna. **I have had to fire people from high paid jobs before now, which is far more traumatic......!

Bought from a dealer for £750 - commision sale. Plays nice, needs new strings, few bumps and a huge scratch on the front; nice birdseye maple neck; really lovely figuring. I will photograph it later. Awaiting GHS bass boomers and first rehearsal!

My cabs, Peavey TX 210 with the horns and crossovers removed and fitted with Eminence Beta drivers, have effectively become monitors. We use a high power, high quality PA system (Crown and Mackie based) with 4 x subs. In small venues I don't bother with the DI as my Gallien 1001rb ii is loud enough through the 2 x 210 cabs. If I need a bit more I have an extra 115 and extra 210 cab that I can also run for more projection - I have a few different length speaker cables to place the cabs where I need them. If the place is big or a wedding; I Use 2 x 210's as stage monitors and DI the amp to the PA and let the subs take care of the bass. I can also use my spare cabs as side fill or monitoring for the drummer. We use Mackie monitors through the system - so, I can always hear myself, but I also backing sing......to the annoyance of the audience! **Our lead guitar player is very rich indeed! He owns the lot!

That's that one done then.....anyone fancy a pint?

Hi All, Big clearout: **SOLD**Warwick Fortress Masterman bass. : £450 The bass has an MEC twin jazz dual coil pickup with 2 active preamps. Each preamp drives 1 side of the dual coil and delivers treble and bass control on stacked pots. The volume is a stacked pot and can contrast between the front and rear coil; the result is a surprising amount of tonal control. You can make this bass replicate a stingray and then add more growl! Both preamps use 1x9v battery. The hardware is all gold finished, the usual warwick tuners and body anchored bridge. The body is Birdseye maple in a French violet finish, but is not very violet at all! The neck is wenge in 3 pieces with an ABM adjustable nut with brass frets. The full details of the manufacture can be emailed with the serial number. This is a 2005 bass that was made from leftover parts. I think that the original production run finished in the late 90's. however, Hans at warwick sent me an email confirming that it was a production bass - I can forward the email from warwick. The bass sounds great, has a super low action and great balance. Brand new rotosound strings fitted; 105/45 set. Will include the leather strap and strap locks. Comes in a warwick rock bag soft case. The bass has a small mark by the pickup, pictured and there is some buckle rash on the back, it is not through the finish, but you can feel the undulations on the surface if the bass. From warwick after serial number query; thanks for your request and interest into your Warwick Bass and for giving me the requested information. **SOLD**Project Amps: Ashdown LG1000 and Superfly 500
aende posted a topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Hi All, I have 2 amps for sale, both as spares or repair; Ashdown LG 1000; Little Giant ; It has a blown capacitor, fairly obvious which one! I have a complete set of brand new Panasonic capacitors to fit of the correct value and type - sadly, I am not going to get time to repair the amp; However, for someone with average hobby electronics knowledge, it is an easy job. Ashdown Superfly 500w amp. I have no idea whats wrong with this, it was working and in use as my spare amp. However, it has decided to stop working. So, the fix may be just a loose wire! I have the carry bag, rack kit and box for this amp. Happy for local collection in West London - I am on Metropolitan and Piccadilly line. Or can post; Postage will be about £10. PM me if interested. -
When Mark E Smith from The Fall throws a bottle at Mumford and Sons because he believes them to be retarded Irish folk singers; you know that they are gonna be sh*te. http://www.nme.com/news/the-fall--2/53488

Yet another 'meh' performance from the stones. I have seen comparable cover bands.... Anyway, more importantly, I want a hat like the one that Daryl Jones was wearing; seriously! Get googling people!!

Hopefully my gear is still on the house insurance! Anyone got any deals or good policy advice? My cabs were cheap and are easily replaceable. Peavey tx with eminence beta drivers and the horns and crossovers removed - very low cost to replace or repair. Gk 1001rb ii head would be a bit painful to fix or replace.... I have a cheap USA sterling sub bass that I am not too attached to. However, I am in the market for a Stingray, which may only come out for nice places!

Thanks all - Is colour a huge cost difference on 'rays?

http://www.livemusicshop.co.uk/cms/index.php/bass-guitars/music-man-stingray-3eq-bass-detail A bit knocked about and a fecking great scratch down it? This is the kinda bass I was looking for.....but, £900 seems steep given the condition? Thoughts? I am tempted by this, I like the colour and I like rosewood necks; http://www.wembleyguitarcentre.com/Catalogue/Guitar-Centre/Bass-Guitars/Music-Man/Musicman-Stingray-3EQ-RW---Candy-Red-wBlk-Pickguard-110212001 I dunno......I am being colour picky! But I am not sure on what to pay for a secondhand or ex demo Stingray....

Used the cable splitter last night at rehearsal - GK1001RB ii and 2 x 4ohm 210 cabs. Works a treat!
So I thought I would start a thread to see what cars you all use to lug your gear around? I am getting a new car hopefully later this year as our Fiat Punto is not really big enough for lugging my bass gear around or going camping which we also do fairly regularly. I was wondering if you have any recommendations? My wife doesn't want a people carrier and doesn't like the look of most estate cars. So my options are somewhat limited! I have been looking at 09 reg Mazda 6 Sports hatchback or Skoda Octavia VRS which seem to have plenty of room but also been looking at BMW 3, Audi A4 and Alfa 159 Estates. Any hints, tips or good advice? Does anyone use saloon cars? - can any of them fit a bass guitar and 15" cone 100W kickback amp combo in the boot?
My Skoda Octavia hatchback - borrowed at the moment, is surprisingly big in the boot and massive with the seats down. It is not a keeper for us though - we are buying either a VW surf bus or a Mercedes Vito surf bus.....so, space won't be an issue with a semi van! Best I have had: Volvo estate, huge amount can be loaded very easily Mercedes E class estate, huge power and easily loaded, massive space Worst: Alfa 156 Sportwagon - very small and tricky to load Mercedes ML - Tricky to load, unless seats are folded.

Retrobassman1947 This guy Won an amp on an auction of my old gear. I then get an email from his 'friend' stating that the guy who owns the account was in a car crash and now cannot purchase the item. I think eBay would be the last thing on his mind.... Reported to eBay as a non paying bidder and potentially fraudulent account. I don't think banks and PayPal take to kindly to friends having access to your funds.

Makes my 2 x 4 ohm cabs look like 1 x 8 ohm cab to my amp! Nice if your amp won't handle a 2 ohm load! A big thank you to OBBM; exceptional quality, works well and he is a nice bloke to deal with - Cheers Dave.
