1. The drummer needs to remix the vocal track in sync with the drums and send you that. He needs to have the timeline in cubase (blue line at the top) set to the full song and not just the vocal track when he renders each track.
2. There should be no other costs/duties to pay, but you could always hop over for it on easyjet. Those Peterbuilt basses look very nice
3. Thanks, my CVJ and VMJ were/are about 9.5 lbs - a bit on the heavy side but probably average, I guess this is about the same. I like hot pickups, all my Jazz basses (including Fenders) have sounded quiet compared to my '63 Fender. I know I can just turn the amp up, but it's not the same as a loud source signal imho.
4. Thanks for the excellent review - I think I'm going to have to buy one now, (I've only got 4 Jazzes at the moment) Just one question, what is the weight?
5. Another good thing about soundcloud is that you can upload wavs, instead of compressed mp3s.

7.
i've both vmj and cvj and i have fallen out of love with the classic vibe....lovely thing but i prefer the sound of the vmj...seems a bit more...i dont know a bit less smooth and more bite than the cvj...the cvj seems duller for no apparent reason....the cvj does cone with a fatter cap could be why or the pup spacing maybe?
I had the same experience - the CV is a great bass with a fantastic vintage style neck, but the sound lacked oomph for want of a better word and I sold it. I've kept my fretless VMJ, which has a better sound for me, but none of my Jazz basses come close in tone or volume to my '63 Fender. The closest I've found is a Farida JB-6 which is a fantastic bass for the money, made in China in the same factory that produces the Squier CVs and possibly the J&Ds? Pick up spacing doesn't bother me because I only use the neck pick up with the tone rolled off, for a deep dub tone. I must agree the surf green is a very pretty instrument
8. I thank you - I'm interested in how it compares to Squier VM and CVs, in terms of sound, build and weight. Meantime, I need to decide which colour to go for...
9. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question because I've never had a new bass with a maple board, but I don't see why it shouldn't be easy to clean. But....... I am also thinking of buying one of these basses because they look cool and they are amazingly cheap! Please let us know how you get along with it
10. How many times should a composer be paid for his work? Every time someone buys a recording, the composer is paid which seems fair to me. But I don't see why he should be paid again and again every time someone plays that song to an audience for the next 70 years. It is an invention by publishers, primarily to make money for publishers.

13. Small and lightweight with a massive low end, no need for any upper mid or treble - I only play reggae. Sensitivity is not as important as deep, clean bass. Could you copy the Acme Low B-112 "Flat Wound" System and produce it for less than the £600 it would cost to import from the US? 14. I remember being very surprised when I found out that the radio and TV paid me royalties every time they played my music. I had been thinking airplay would help advertise my recordings, therefore generating sales and promoting gigs. I would have gladly paid to get my songs on the radio, now I realise the airplay itself is the main income from my recordings. I gladly receive my PRS royalties, but I still consider them unfair and undeserved. I suppose if performing rights didn't exist, the immediate result would be a reduction in the TV license and less adverts required on commercial TV and radio, since that is where the money comes from.
15. I agree with Dad (and John Lennon) - performing rights are a false right and they should not exist. But I really appreciate my PRS payments
16. I would love to go if I could make it, which I can't unfortunately. Hope to catch you at a festival this summer
17. Great to see the youth still being musical and sounding better than ever. Have a great gig
18. Here he is in 2007 playing a PRS in the studio, also acting as producer for Horace Andy's vocals later in the clip:
19. I tried both the Vintage and the Squier side by side and I liked the Squier best by a long way, so I bought one. The Vintage felt cheap in comparison and I hated the false relic job. The Duncan designed pick ups have a deeper tone and the ebonol fingerboard is excellent. Which just goes to show, we all have different tastes

21. Robbie started on Aston Barrett's Hofner violin bass before moving on to a Fender Jazz. He played a Steinberger and then PRS for a few years, before coming back to the Jazz bass. Both he and Familyman prefer the Fender Jazz over all other basses and they've both tried a few. It's all about the lickin' space
22. Robbie favours a Jazz these days, like Fams - sometimes a stack knob. This is an older gig, worth a look if you haven't seen it:
23. They do make the Squire CVs, Farida is their own name and the quality is higher than the Squiers ime - more on a par with US Fenders.
24. Thanks, I'll give it some thought. Is the Joiners Arms still a venue in Chorley? I remember playing there back in the 70s.
25. Thanks for the clarification, I would be interested to know the actual weight of the standard FJB 20 if possible. I use cheap digital luggage scales from Morrisons
