1. Forgive me for maybe being a bit dense, but what's the point in putting one driver behind the other? and are there no controls on the actual amp?
2. I wouldn't trust thomann prices! As you said, the pound is really weak and all of thomann's prices are hugely inflated
3.
GOOD NEWS:Armchairs and fidge full of Magners is in!!!
That's all you really need isn't it??!!
4. That sounds cool, i always wondered how those Tsais played/sounded
5. I owned this bass, and it really is a beaut and it sounds HUGE! Think P-bass on steroids, and MUCH more versatile, good luck with the sale matey
6.
That does seem to be the jist of the original post For my Drop C tuning, I use high tension strings, so I can have an action comparable to standard tuning, reduced buzzing etc etc Si
sounds like he's tuned it to something other than drop C, but anyway, here are some good ones i like to play 36 crazyfists : at the end of august absent are the saints bloodwork slit wrist theory bullet for my valentine: 10 years today all these things i hate room 409 killswitch engage: the end of heartache That's just a few from browsing through my library of guitar pro files... There's also testament - into the pit, scream aim fire by bullet and silverwing by arch enemy in D standard and most lamb of god songs (11th hour and for your malice are good), a lot of early trivium, and some pantera (i'm broken) in drop D. That's just some stuff i like playing anyway.
We normally tune down a step, Eb Ab Db Gb
Just thought i'd point out that's half a step, AKA a semitone.
7. Good luck with the sale mate, you might have got it cheap, but at the end of the day, if it's not the bass for you, then who can blame you for selling it for a reasonable price? Even if it is a bit more than you've paid for it, we've all done it before i'm sure I know i have!
8. that looks pretty cool, i'd like a pointy bass of some sort one day...
9.
Do these actually sound that different to a Stingray or pretty much the same? Great looking bass.
I tried a few stingrays, and apart from the mid knob on the 3 band, yeah it does sound pretty much identical.
10. If you want the grain to stand out, i hear some people use a black stain under the main colour to bring it out more.
11. Fantastic basses these, i'd reccommend one to anybody who wants a stingray sound but can't afford one! Good price too, with the case. Hope the sale goes well!
12.
Having just picked up my Shuker, I'm pretty GAS free at the moment - although I am beginning to miss the Corvette $$, which i sold to Budget Bassist last month!
Funny you should say that, because i'm currently GAS free, having bought your corvette!
13. That's pretty nice (the ATK), shame it doesn't have a matching headstock
14. That's a nice sterling, gorgeous grain!! Also, i have to say, that's my faourite colour/fretboard combination on a sterling, hit me up if you're ever selling
15. He's clever, i'll give him that!
16. fair enough I see your point there actually In that case (and i'm by no means picking holes in your design!!), for me, i'd have had the pickups slightly more central maybe, for the way i like to play, i get fairly lazy with my right hand
17.
There was a guy on the italian bass forum who actually did Parallel Universe with his fingers
I used to be able to, i haven't practiced it in a while though, it takes a lot of stamina.
18. Haha nice, unless you use a pick, parallel universe can be an absolute beast! If i recall, flea actually used a pick for that'un
19.
*pokes head round door* Yorkshire bass bash will be better! *runs away*
My arse will it
20.
Hey guys, would it be OK if I brought my 16 year old bass playing nephew along to the bash. or is there an age restriction, being in a pub and all that?
Aye that's fine, i went last year when i was 17
21. That's looking pretty cool, though i can't help thinking it would look nicer if the edges were a bit more contoured... Also i've just realised why that bridge is so big, looks rather cool
22. Niiiice! That should go fast, these are the ones that always go for silly prices on ebay!
23.
The strap button isn't going to support the neck very well. Make sure it's not top heavy.
He could always put it on the back of the neck joint, if possible.
24. Ooh sweet, i'm really looking forward to seeing this, i love the les paul shape on a bass if it's done properly, and blue stain over figured top? Gorgeous! Can't wait to see the end result!
