  1. Chaos. Have you ever tried to play bass, sing and catch PA cabs at the same time? Drunk women everywhere. Falling all over the place. Talking borax, flirting with remnants of slaver and sick on their chins and generally acting like they’d had a blow to the back of the head. One particular woman kept on falling into the PA and into the singer/guitarists pedals. She had to be picked up and steadied countless times. In the end between songs, my brother who was in the audience and fed up with having to sort her out and asking her to behave, shouted at her in full view of the audience“ “Look, if you don’t fekin sort yourself out, I’m going to fondle your bottom”. 😂😂 She looked at him hiccuped and said “ I beg your pardon?” He shouted back “You heard”. She about turned and cleared off and stood at the bar. Much to the relief of everyone else. You could see the look of relief in folks faces. My brother got a few smiles and pats on the back too 😂😂 Some folk will probably think he shouldn’t have said that but believe me, he saved her from getting punched and kicked as she’d upset a good number of folk by that time. Anyway, we’re playing there again next year but we intend to take a barricade. Seriously!
  2. I totally agree but I’ve had some outstanding instruments and equipment over the years and have still sold them in an endless futile search. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m never going to be happy so why have thousands invested in something I’m not happy with? Maybe if I was a rich bloke I might feel different though 😁
  3. A mate of mine uses one of these. We shared the same stage recently in a theatre. It literally boomed! What a sound. Paired with a Jazz, it absolutely filled the stage with a gloriously warm creamy dreamy sound. I’ve been quite smitten since. GLWTS
  4. Voted but I’d vote for both given the choice.
  5. Got it! A good scrub with a wire brush and dettol sorted it. Smells lovely now 😂 Strings surprisingly ok. A bit of a neglected bass I must say but at under £60 with a gigbag… Guide stickers on the neck (came off really easily) High action. Took it as low as it would possibly go at the bridge and still too high. Ummmm. Adjusted the truss rod as far as I felt I should. It would have gone further but I thought no, I’ll not push it. It was still a bit high for my liking so I shimmed it. Now it’s perfect for my taste. I even had to raise the bridge a bit (which I wanted really as the saddles were literally sitting on the bridge plate). The bridge plate actually looks a bit bent, which might account for the action. You might be able to see it in the pictures. The neck is definitely more chunky-ish Precision feel. I would have liked Jazz but I knew it said Precision before I bought it. It plays quite nicely though. No sharp edges The tuners will need replacing. They are shoddy. If these are an example of what they become over time, change yours if you get the chance. Some are slack one is really tight. One is wobbly. No neck dive to speak of on this one. Maybe a tad but certainly not as issue for me. Lovely and light. Can’t knock the sound either. I’ve only had it through the home studio setup but it sounded well through there. I’ll get it through my rig at rehearsals next week. If it lacks in the sound department, I’ve got a Yammy P/J pup setup that would sit nicely in there anyway. I’d definitely gig with it if needs be. It’s not the best thing since sliced bread. It’s a cheap more than capable tool and great value for money. That’s my spare sorted!
  6. I’ve just got one from the local Cash Generator for £59.99. Can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow! 😁
  7. I’m still loving the Antoria Paul! I’d trust your opinion on a bass any day. I’m a sucker for white and maple but the rack is over spilling and I need to move stuff on before even thinking about it 😂
  8. Oh it’s the borax! I’ve still got a manual and some sound cards somewhere (they have proven impossible to find for the last 10 years though). I’d love another but I’ve already got far too much stuff. GLWTS
  9. Perhaps any bands that really do want to play there, should just expose themselves.
  10. Bought Lawrie’s Pickmaster. Arrived super quick and super packaged. As described. Good comms. Can’t ask for more than that. Thanks again Lawrie .
  11. I believe there is a wait for a Staytrem bridge too? True, how long, I don’t really know.
  12. I’ve enlarged the pictures and I’m pretty sure that the horn hasn’t actually been cut off. Novices will probably never notice but to the trained eye it’s blatantly obvious. It’s actually had a damned good twaitting. 😂
  13. Boss SY-300. Absolutely superb bass synth, endless possibilities. In great working condition but does have a couple of chips to the paint that I’ve tried to show in the pics. In truth I want to keep it but there are a couple of items that I need more at this time so, I’m selling to fund those. Or, May trade. Trade - loud lightweight combo. 12” MB etc. Line6 HX Effects. Will post or collection and trial from Blackburn Lancs.
  14. If they’d removed those steps in the background they would have easily spotted their mistake 😂
  15. Great basses. Punch way above their price tag.
  16. Hi Roger, thanks for the info I’ll look into that! Cheers Dunc
  17. I’m getting one and putting a Glarry sticker on it. 😁
  18. G4M Bass. And here’s me been hunting round for what seems centuries, for a lightweight 24 fret P/J back up for a certain project. Seems my search maybe over. At £129 it’s got to be worth a shot. It will probably never be used anyway.
  19. Nice bitsa Jazz consisting of - Fender USA 1999 body and what I believe are Fender MIJ 64 pups. I don’t know country of origin of the neck. It has had a decal applied. It is not a Fender neck. I compiled the parts from BC and put them together. The body, pup’s electronics etc all came complete. The neck and tuners came complete. All I did was put the neck on the body. It’s wearing new light gauge strings 90’s from what I remember off hand. I haven’t made my mind up about them so any buyer may have a bit of action work to ‘suit’ to do. It’s a Jazz. It weighs in like a typical Jazz. A guesstimate around 9 1/2 lb. when I get a chance, I’ll get a more accurate figure. Looks like somebody was a bit overzealous fitting some tuners in the past and has managed to poke through the front of the headstock. They also must have had some odd sort of string retainer on in the past. My intention was to refinish the headstock in Oly to cover these blemishes but haven’t got round to it. However, overall the neck is pretty nice and the binding sits well with the aged Oly white body. It’s in pretty good condition. The body and electrics had laid unused in a cupboard since 2006 until a couple of months ago. I’ve used some of your pics. Hope you don’t mind Mark! Prefer collection from BB22SH but will post and buyers cost and risk. Will be well packed for its journey though.
  20. Barefaced One10. good delay. I’m having a clear out. Far too much gear. Whatever sells goes and the rest can stay. Squier VI, great condition. I’m not exactly sure if the date but from memory it’s about 5-6 years old. Lovely instrument much improved with the Staytrem bridge mod. Comes with the original bridge and whammy bar. Collection preferred but can be posted at buyers cost and risk. Will be well packed for its journey.
  21. 4 used scratch plates. 2 for access to rod at the heel. The screw holes all seem to line up. This leads me to believe they are Fender but I cannot be completely certain. £26 for the lot posted to mainland UK.
