  1. I’d certainly opt for choice 2. One band I play in have the oddest way of sound checking I’ve ever come across. Everything goes through the PA regardless the size of the venue. Firstly, the drummer stands out front and gets the levels of the guitars right and then the vocals. Then he gets on his kit and the singer/guitarist goes out front and does the level of guitar/vox with the kit. This is all done using the volume sliders not by adjusting any of the gains at all? Gain does not seem to be important, as it’s messing about? Then, everything starts feeding back and they won’t listen to anything I have to say about everything being all ass about tit. Then they start using the volume controls on the active cabs to control the feedback by turning everything down 😂 Apparently it has to be done that way as we have no time to mess about as it’s unprofessional ? This is virtually every gig we do when we have to use our own PA. As we all use in ears ,I would have thought that feedback wouldn’t be an issue. Maybe that being really loud onstage is though 🤣
  2. As above in good condition. Gigged (not extensively) so not pristine. An easy one man lift. Has built in wheels too for ease of movement. 1200w @4ohm so powerful enough for any situation. I'm using in ears mostly now and so don’t need such a powerful cab but would px with cash my way for an original BF Midget or Compact 15 possobly a Super 3rd. I’ve found some photos of the cab from around Christmas time and put them up. The cab is in the rehearsal room and I don’t have access until next week to take some recent pics but it looks more or less just like it does in the pics below. Collection from BB22SH, meet depending on distance. Postage possible at buyers cost and risk. Will be well packed though.
  3. Mike bought a desk from me. Instant payment and great comms. Nice fella to deal with all round. He even took the Parcelforce Express AM special delivery service that took 3 days to arrive in good spirits 😁 Would have no problem dealing with Mike again. A positive experience all round. Thanks again. Cheers Dunc
  4. Greg Bennet by Samick Royale 3. MM Seymour Duncan Designed Humbucker plus a Seymour Duncan Designed preamp. Volume, Blend,Treble and Bass. It has an Gotoh battery box installed replacing the screw on cover. Also has upgraded Wilkinson machine heads. I guess it’s under 9lb as it doesn’t feel a heavy bass. 40mm at the nut. Nice bass that sounds and plays much better than its price tag suggests. I ended up using it as a first for a while as it excels with vintage chorus type effects. Selling as I’ve acquired far too many Precisions and I still have GAS for Fender shaped things 😞 No case with this. Collection preferred from BB22SH. If the buyer wants it posting at their cost and risk, then I’d have to source suitable packaging. It will be securely packaged.
  5. Bought some rack ears from Rosie. Everything went as it should 😁 Top BC’er. Thanks again! Cheers Dunc
  6. Bought a bridge from David. It arrived safely and in no time at all. Exactly as described too 😁 Thanks again David. Cheers Dunc
  7. Bought a loom from John for a 66 P Bass build. Great work indeed. Fast safe delivery too. Thanks again John.
  8. I still use my Midiverb lll. The best delay I’ve ever heard on a bass!
  9. Did a trade with Pete for his lovely BF Compact. It arrived super fast in bulletproof packaging and exactly as described. You can’t ask for more than that. But there is more! Great comms and a thoroughly nice chap to deal with to! Thanks again Pete, enjoy the One10 😁 Cheers Dunc
  10. Yes it works as a standalone mixer with FX as well. Postage would depend on the level of service but I should imagine that, next day delivery, fully insured would be no more than ££25. Obviously, a lesser service would cost less.
  11. Did a trade with Graham. All was good and couldn’t have been been better 😁 Thanks again Graham. Cheers Dunc
  12. It’s a great cab, the quality is second to none. As for the initial value, I can only go off what I was told when I got it from a long standing BC member. The MK2 112 equivalent to buy now is about €1200 with a cover and so, by the time shipping and import fees were paid, £1400 sounded about right to me.
  13. Virtually every band I’ve seen in a decent sized venue for well over a decade have had a ‘generic’ horrible woolly bass sound. Rigs tend to be sub bass heavy (sub isn’t needed for most genres imho). Engineers seem to think that ‘sub bass’ is what it’s all about now. Totally baffles me. Can’t they tell that the bass is just a blur and it’s not actually enhancing the overall sound at all? Was their tutor off that week? I still like to think that bands of a certain ‘level’ have their own sound engineers but I think I’m kidding myself there. Maybe JJ’s sound is much more authentic onstage? I like JJ so I’m blaming the PA guys 😂
  14. I bought a Squier Sonic as a spare thinking that I’d mod it a bit, pups, bridge etc. Lowered the action. It’s low, real low. No neck adjustment, just the saddles. Rattle canned it Oly white, stuck a cheeky logo on it and it’s replaced my main Precision (which is actually a nice bass). It plays and sounds great. It doesn’t need any mods. The first gig I used it at, I had a number of really good compliments about it. One from a band who’s bassist was using a Shuker P. I didn’t have the heart to tell them…. The Squier Sonics and the Harley Benton’s are great basses for the money. Plus they are new with a warranty. You can always send them back too.
  15. Another classic head that maketh me green with envy! 🤣 It might be better in the amps for sale section though?
  16. Sod’s law! The price drop will more than cover the postage though 😁
  17. And an Eden Metro combo to play it through! Bliss 😁
  18. As above in used condition. Drum frame and TD3 brain/module, PD-105 snare . 2 cymbals, KD-8 bass drum pad and Pearl kick pedal. 4 PD-08 drum pads, 3 toms and 1 for the hat. Will post pics and pad models later. Everything works but I may not have enough leads to connect all the pads to the drum module. These are just ordinary jack to jack though. The hi hat pedal is an Alesis. No stool included. Will be difficult to post but if buyer is willing to arrange their own courier, I’ll do my very best to make sure it’s safe for transit. Collection form BB22SH preferred. Stock photo but actual pics to follow
  19. As above in Pearl. Circa 1984 I believe. Nice and light, probably less than 8.5lb but haven’t actually checked it. Skinny Jazz type neck. Has some chips but in decent nick for a well played bass of 40+ years. Plays fine and sounds great. Truss rod works and adjusts both ways. I’ll change the straplocks back to the originals too. Has hard case. Old style but fully functional and in good condition for its age. Soft lined. Compartments etc. May trade. Try me Postage available or collection and trial from Blackburn Lancs.
  20. Bought a lead from Rob. It arrived exactly as described, well packaged and super fast. A great BC’er to deal with. thanks again Rob. Cheers Dunc
  21. For sale or trade trade, my short scale 1972 Antoria EB3. It’s had lots of mods but all are reversible and I believe I have all the original parts. There’s a thread on here about it. I got it from Paul S of this very parish a number of years back when I was switching to short scale but all my work seems to be mostly on Precisions nowadays and it just hangs on the wall. The bass is well played and is a players bass, certainly not a collectors. Bumps and bruises but plays nicely and works exactly as it should. Link to history of the mods etc - Cash or bank transfer is good but may trade. Try me with anything. Basses, BF 110 etc Collection from BB22SH or will post at buyers cost and risk.

  22. Lovely P basses these. They play superbly. I usually preferably Jazz neck on a Precision but these are great as they are. They just seem to sit perfectly in the mix too. I used mine with an Eden Metro combo and the combination was brilliant. Sold mine in another moment of madness ( I’ve had a few of them 😂). I’d love to buy this but I’ve got more pressing buys at the moment unfortunately. Good price. Someone will be happy. GLWTS
