I bought this in the end; it will come in handy in the very near future…:brow:

never had this sort of problem. Did you have it tuned higher than E for some reason?

When I had cheap gear (amps) I didn’t really care or mind about sharing it (and I actually liked to help people out) cos the worst someone was going to do is cause £100 worth of damage. Now I've got expensive stuff there's no chance anyone is going to get their greasy mitts on it. I was in a situation about 4 months ago where I was playing a gig with my old band and the bass player in one of the other bands was thrashing the sh*t out of hit bass and broke the E. At the end of the song he asked through the mic if he could borrow mine, I just stood there and laughed hysterically shaking my head and said “are you having a laugh? No chance mate”, then went to the bar. A few people there laughed as well, but there was no chance he was getting his hands on my mint SS1. He was a prick anyway.

Bought some electrical gubbins from Paul for the innards of a Jazz bass project I will shortly be embarking on. Great service and fast delivery, nice guy and general top bloke. Cheers Paul

I think these types of cabs are becoming more common - Shcroeder 21012 or 210212 for example, and some of the new Dr.Bass cabs have 3 way systems (the 2460 for example). 3 way systems for tops, mid, and bass reproduce the original sound most faithfully compared to single driver size cabs (I think that's the theory behind it anyway), but really it's all just down to what suits you or what sounds best for your situation.
Im afraid I dont think they are, firewire is a mac thing, and I dont think pc will support the drivers
I think it will be a drivers issue if it's not compatible, because I use a few firewire devices with my PC... EDIT: I mean that there might be compatibility issues with the Apogee drivers if it turns out it’s not compatible with PC, not general firewire drivers, if you get what I mean (just in case I didn’t make myself clear)…
Best time to announce leaving a band...
...a couple of hours before a gig? (that happened to us (an old band I was in), we dedicated every song of the set to that cock sucking c***)
G&L Tribute L-2000 natural finish. Small amount of tarnish on bridge and pickups. Picked up off here in September G&L Tribute L-2000. I've removed the marker pen and adjusted the action since then.
How come this has had 3 different owners in such close succession? I can’t work it out cos it looks like a great bass!
Doing the right thing professionally is often the same as ‘good enough’. But ‘good enough’ and excellence are not nearly the same thing and, frankly, ‘good enough’ is not what gets me excited. What happened to ‘the best it can be’? What happened to interesting, to innovative, to intriguing or provocative? What happened to exciting, challenging, emotional, scary, flying by the seat of your pants?
I think commercial success is a significant factor for a lot of people, or to put it another way, selling out pays the bills…

Is your bass collection worth more than your car?
Dubs replied to birdy's topic in General Discussion
1500? Surely that's a bit low, did you mean 15,000?
i don't own a car, but even I probably do more than 1500 a year... -
