Shonky indeed, a lot of his auctions have been discussed recently. And you're right - he has to accept Paypal as a payment option, usually I'd suspect the seller wanted to avoid the fees but in this case it may be that he wants to negate any protection for the buyer.

DAVID EDEN WTX260 300w BASS AMP **SOLD**

Sold- pending the usuals. Thank you for all the interest & kind comments. I've offered this one a couple of times previously but then changed my mind, it's just not getting used though & the cash would be useful. Sorry, not after any trades. I bought it on here for £725 & have since added some upgrades; Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups CTS Pots, Switchcraft jack, orange drop cap & cloth/wax wiring Chrome covers Tug bar Calendar girl water slide decal It's a lovely bass, looks & feels like a well worn Jazz. Weight is 8.6 lbs, it's strung with Chrome flats & a nice low action and it sounds like a great Jazz should. No issues other than a previous owner removed the Made in Mexico transfer & serial number from the back of the headstock - presumably for authenticity purposes but the body is stamped & all the correct Fender markings are present on the neck heel & neck pocket. Oh, it also comes with a hard case that has seen more action than a prozzy in Saigon circa 1970. Prices I hear you say? £625 with the original pickups £730 with the Seymours I can post but will sort out prices if there is any interest, alternatively Teesside is lovely in Spring! If you report it to eBay they will remove the other auction. A few years ago a bloke stole my Guitarport advert, word for word, even down to my bloody mobile number!

MusicMan Stingray Classic for half price!
Macko1968 replied to Clarky72's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Only £92 cheaper than this example though; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ernie-Ball-Music-Man...#ht_5234wt_1141 By the time you add shipping, VAT & duty you'll barely save £150 over Uk street price. -
I sold Lee a Musicman Stingray & asked he give me first dibs if he ever decided to move it on. Good as his word he did just that, let me have it for the same price & sent it back well packed & exactly as it was when it left me. A true gentleman.
Seriously paypal can take money directly from your bank account in the event someone wants a refund? I use a bank account that only has around 100 pound in at any one time, unless I'm buying something specific, and I don't have an agreed overdrat. So if they took a refund of say 1500 pound for a bass, when the money was not in the account I'd have to pay huge bank charges aswell I imagine. It's lucky I don't sell anything on ebay but I'm still shocked...
Almost, Paypal will debit the money from your Paypal account, leaving you with a negative balance which they then ask you to restore by transferring funds into your Paypal account. If you don't restore it they will attempt to draw the money from the account / card linked to your account but obviously you will have been savvy enough to cancel the card & inform your bank to reject any request for money from Paypal. Once Paypal have exhausted that route they send their debt collectors after you. By that point you should have got the FSA ombudsman involved which tends to make Paypal sh*t bricks & back down sharpish. Oh & on the subject of hilarious packing - Once received a Wal Custom in an oversized case & just a label slapped on the outside - it didn't even require a signature!
