1. Okay, no-one currently makes a P bass quite like I want one so I'm thinking of going the Warmoth route. Does anyone have any experience of buying parts from Warmoth & assembling them? I'm guessing that, other than the final set-up, it will be no harder than stripping down a guitar for a clean up & re-assemble?

3. 1. Any old tat that sold badly & was quickly discontinued is now "rare". 2. All Korean Fenders are "similar to the legendary JV range". 3. Any non-US Fender taken out off production was taken out because "it was stealing sales from the US made range because they were so good". 4. All Japanese made basses were made by Matsumoku. 5. All 70s copies were stopped by a "lawsuit". 6. Any mod adds 50% more than the cost of the mod to the guitar's value. 7. Any bass made in the last 5 years was "hand picked from over 20 in my local shop". 8. No instrument plays well, they play like "butter" 9. Any cheap plywood crap signed by Arctic Monkeys / Kassabian / the Alma Cogan Trio is worth 400% more than an unsigned instrument. 10. A bass can be mint but still have chips, dings & cracks.
4.
not eveyone will agree with this but start your price at the minimum you're prepared to except, saves tears later, reserve prices just put people off because they don't know what the reserve is.
Agree 100%, why waste money on a reserve fee when you can be up front with buyers on the minimum sale price from the off. Also proof of DELIVERY is the minimum. Ebay & Paypal require sellers to prove receipt of an item in dispute, not proof of posting. Don't time auctions to end when folks are at work, asleep, watching England get knocked out of a tournament.
5. Paul Reed Smith, eat your heart out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Unusual-Bass-Guitar-...9#ht_500wt_1156
6. If I had £1400 kicking about this bass would be sold. Sadly I'm a good couple of weeks at least from having that figure available to me & i don't want to part with my transition era Stingray (it's natural ash & near mint). The rules for the market place are here; http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=SR&f=19
7. If there's an issue with the asking price it should be taken to PM, as per the rules. Matt's set his price, if someone wants to pay it they will, if not, they won't.
8. If this is still around in a couple of weeks I fear for my wallet. Aesthetically not everyone's cuppa PG Tips but the sound is to die for.
9. Nice looking Streamer but read the guff about the broken truss rod - "It's normal with basses of this age". 10. Red, no Badass & a 4 bolt neck, wtf? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-JAZZ-Marcus-M...8#ht_500wt_1156
11. Superb Jazz. So nice I may have to buy the wife some flowers .
12. How long before someone creates an eBay account, hits BiN, doesn't pay & leaves him to sort out getting the sellers fees back? Oh & a bit of negative feedback in to the bargain.

15. From the Wiki link on page 1; "On April 1, 2008, Monster Cable sent a cease and desist letter to Blue Jeans Cable,[21] claiming infringement on certain patents[16] owned by Monster Cable. The owner of Blue Jeans Cable, Kurt Denke, previously a litigation lawyer, responded with a letter detailing flaws and shortcomings in the allegations of patent infringement, adding "Not only am I unintimidated by litigation; I sometimes rather miss it."[22] In this correspondence, Denke also observed the possibility of Monster Cable avoiding federal income taxes by using a Bermuda-based holding company."

17. Looks like sonic blue to me, sea foam is the middle colour in this piccy;
18. I'm a tit, the catalogue lists the 4000 as fibreglass.
19. Tip from my neighbour who works for TNT is, "if it looks like a box it gets kicked around, if it looks like a guitar we are a lot more careful". Hardcase, 3 layers of industrial bubble-wrap & leave the handle exposed so the courier can easily pick it up / put it down. Adopted that approach, never had an issue yet.
20.
MB1. As far as Energy is concerned theres very little to be found here! This is definately a 3000 series headless...i've previously had 2!.A Mint One Sold on here last week!
I'll disagree, I think it's a 1st run Energy, I owned 3 over the years, all headless with walnut bodies & thought they were 3000 models. The last one wnet to be refretted by Rob & he informed me it (& it's predecessors) were original Energy models. I have an old Status catalogue that lists the 3000 series as having a glass fibre body.
21. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_861wt_1141 BiN is a good £1800 below the going rate, postal orders only, private listing - all smell whiffy. The clincher is that the picture has been nicked from Andy Summer's website. At best I reckon you'll get a Hohner version for your money, more likely you'll get nothing.
22. These are excellent basses, Ed Friedland often uses one. At the price it's a real bargain.
23. I love these new classic 'rays as they address the things I hate about the current stock 'ray. Figured & lacquered necks, metal battery cover, mutes - all rays should have these. The list price on the classic is shocking though so someone needs to snap this up at this price before I weaken.
24.
Sorry, already paid for it
Ah fu.....er, I mean well done mate.
