1.
Well, it is classed as a bump. Ashborygirl - I don't have to convince you cause you know already better - just looking at the picture and you know straight away how the body resonates and sounds Please, do not bother yourself to mess in my thread anymore, go and preach your undisputable wisdom somewhere else bump for great sounding bass!
The bass is a nice enough bitsa, but no amount of magic beans or snake oil is going to make it more than that & if you're looking to blame someone for messing in your thread, I'd start a bit closer to home.
2.
BTW it's a Chinese knock off and to be fair he never says it's an MM
Which will be his defence if he gets rumbled. Low life who knows he's got a fake & is hoping to cash in on someone's ignorance.
3. Just bought Andy's Overwater, an excellent deal & a great seller.
4. £450 delivered or it's off to the 'bay at the weekend.
5. Great instruments these, super fretless tone for stuff all money.
6. Probably the finest amp in the world, ever.
7. Lush bass & brilliant playing as ever.
8. I like the neck, TRBboy. It's 1.6 inches at the nut, medium depth with a D profile & a modern, flat radius. It fills the hand nicely without being too clubby. As for reviews there's a short one from an owner on TB, other than that though it seems to be Harmony Central (where every piece of equipment ever made is 10/10) http://www.talkbass.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1611/title/cort-rb4-a-k-a26quot-3belrick-26quot-3b-4-string/cat/13
9. Oh, not looking for a row, just genuinely interested to hear that couriers are trying to rip people off. To be fair, the £19.50 was to Northern Ireland with delivery by 10:00am. Bike boxes are indeed a god send, having a local Halfords I can just walk in & help myself now. Parecl tape does occasionally disappear from the works stationary cupboard too .
10. 'tis a funny old world. I have sourced a box for this now so shipping is no problem.
11. I checked it on Parcels 2 Go & Interparcel, its the same price regardless. I commented on this because it's never happened to me in over 10 years. I sold a bass last week & the buyer arranged the courier, it cost him £19.50 via DHL. I've just priced the same service assuming I was sending the parcel instead, result? The same price. So, whilst it may have happened to you twice that doesn't make it a universal truth. I'd be interested to know the names of the couriers involved, no-one should be charging twice to ship an item once.
12.
Couriers: When a seller says "you can arrange your own courier" they don't seem to realise that you have to pay twice to do it that way. Once for the trip to collect it and once for the delivery so twice the cost to the buyer. This is just being lazy imo, all you need to do is fill a form in on Interparcel's site, pay with a card and prices with UPS start at £6.99 + vat!! Very cheap.
This is not true, It doesn't matter who arranges the courier there's a pick up & drop off involved. I've yet to find a courier that charges extra to pick up. The advantage of "arrange your own courier" is that the buyer gets to chose which company they want, to pay what they want & to have recourse with the courier in the event of a problem. There's no crafty mark ups to be made by sellers either, the buyer pays the exact cost. With regards to packing, my neighbour works for TNT & told me something of interest. He reckons guitars in hard cases can be double bubble wrapped with industrial bubble wrap, leaving the handle exposed. He says it offers way more impact protection than cardboard & the drivers treat it like a guitar, not a cardboard box. I've gone this route a couple of times with no problems at all but a bike box seems to offer me more reassurance.
13. I'm guessing where it says active EQ that it's active.
14. "Lots of interest on Ebay, but I'd rather BC'er got it" type bump.
15. Thanks for the extra info Chris. The Kubicki is now on hold.
16. Now Sold, thanks for all the interest and info. OK guys, not much movement on my Cort & I need to raise some cash so I'm offering up my Kubicki factor. This is a 1990 model from the Fender Custom Shop era. I know a few people get tooty about the Pre-Custom Shop instruments being better but I can;t see or hear it & Phil himself says he was still making the basses during the Custom Shop period. I think it's all bullhonky, I've played a few & could never tell what was & wasn't CS made. That said, it's a queer do when people are downplaying something because it was made at the CS. Anyway, the bass is in unbelievable condition, no scratches, cracks, chips or dings - it could pass for NOS. The only thing you will find on the bass is a square on the top horn where you can see the original price sticker was on it in the shop! You won't find a cleaner 21 year old instrument anywhere. It plays & sounds superb & the drop D lever is surely the best system for sub E tuning invented. Bass comes with a well worn tweed case. Happy to ship if you can arrange a courier. Price is £825 firm & I'm not after any trades. If you've fancied a Kubicki you won't find better. Any Qs - best PM me as I'm busy at the moment.
17. Bump for a price drop to £250 & some more pics. It's off to Fleabay tonight so don;t be shy!
