  1. It’s the insurance difficulty thats killing most of the festivals.
  2. Seals and Crofts wrote and performed the original, I always thought it was an Isley Brothers original, the Isleys is definitely my favourite, but I do like the original, very CSNY.
  3. Two songs in our current set. Rosalie - Thin Lizzy Turn the Page - Metallica Both originally written and performed by Bob Seger.
  4. He is one of my bass heroes, fantastic player, lots of space. I played in a Free tribute band for a few years, one of the highlights of my bass playing career. I purchased an EB3 especially for this band, pretty much hated playing the thing, neck dive and awful to play compared to my MM Stingray.
  5. Same as the other thread for me. Anything by Level 42. I can’t play slap to save my ars*
  6. This is a metaphor, they are often used in song writing. Another couple of examples that are used in the English language. I would give my right arm for that. I would rather stick red hot pokers in my eyes.

  8. After the instrumental middle bit, drum fill back into verse.
  9. Latest vegan strap from Right - On.
  10. We consider ourselves to be an indoor venue band, we don’t particularly enjoy playing outdoors, so the future for gigging looks pretty grim. On a positive note, we resumed rehearsing three weeks ago and it’s great to be playing with the guys again.
  11. BBC 1 now on Gary Barlow - I’m with the band. Really enjoying this, a similar set up to Darryl's House, good players and guest artists, you can see a lot of emotion that musicians are getting a chance to play together and seriously enjoying it. The bass player is Dayna Fisher.
  12. Classic early Rod Stewart vocals on this track. A lot of people tend to forget the stuff RS did with bands in his earlier years, just listen to Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, proper good time rock bands.
  13. Sort of agree with your wife. If it ain’t going to get used, sell it.
  14. Had our first one last Wednesday, great to play at gigging volume, cracked out the first set, only revisited two songs due to drummer missing a couple of fills. Just getting ready for the second rehearsal tonight, looking to crack all the way through the second set plus one brand new song.
  15. Currently watching the Bob Dylan 30th anniversary celebration concert, loads of artists doing Dylan songs.
  16. Walk away, if the vocalist can’t hold a note, the whole band is wasting their time.
  17. Followed by Santana and then Steve Miller Band, a great night tonight on Sky Arts. 👍
  18. Tomorrow (Sunday) Sky Arts 9pm Doobie Brothers live from the Beacon Theatre.
  19. No colour for me - clear.
