1. Still here, now with free hard case.
2. I like it but the pickups look a bit dodgy.
3. Give up the day job . That's amazing, I really want one.
4.
Looks more like an Eclipse to me (no centre block, unlike an S1).
Thanks for the insight, i'm learning every day. Status basses often look very similar but there's so many slightly varying models.
5. It's an S1 like mine for sale here. Except mine has a wooden thru neck and figured top. I'm guessing yours is slightly newer. I think we need to call in the local status experts for more details... calling OutToPlayJazz and MB1.
6. I might be interested if I can sell my fretless Status.
7. Don't know if you heard but Prince's purple lower horn is bigger than yours.
8. Just wondering, are there any full-time session players on the forum? If so I just have few Q's: -Is it well payed? -How hard is it to find work? -Roughly what do you earn a year? -What qualifications do you have? -Do you play upright too? -And what is your main bass? Just a few things i'd like to know as i'm 16 and considering a career in music, possibly session playing.
9. What happened to the back of the bass?
10.
You'd better not! My bongo deal pretty much fell through and therefore I can't have a bongo anymore. That means if you get a bongo you'll be able to gloat at me and I hate it when it is that way round. You want a P bass? BUY MINE...
You gloated for ages about your sparkle ray (not really, I was just jealous), but now it's my time, with my wonderous jazz and possible bongo. Not joking about buying it either. If I manage to sell my status, and that macko guy a couple of posts above doesn't buy the bongo then I almost certainly will.
11. Please try and sell me a guitar strap... or better yet a lead.
12. Sir, you have the best job in the world.
13.
is there a story behing this photo? or did you just decide to take your bass diving with you?
He was fishing for bass.
14.
Would you be interested in trade + cash? Peavey Cirrus 5 string (Vietnam I think, not US. £318 new at GAK now) about 5 years old. No worries if not.
Sorry, generally the only fivers I like are Stingray5s and Marcus Miller sig 5s and possibly status five strings. I'm mostly a four string guy.
15.
I believe it was to help players who were making the transition from upright double basses to electric basses. They would attach the strap to the end pin and then onto the headstock instead of the pin on the top horn. The bass could then be played in an upright position. It obviously didn't catch on. Has anyone ever seen a picture of a player with an old Fender in an upright position?
Funnily enough I tried that out the other day without knowing that's what it's meant for. I can tell you now it was thoroughly uncomfortable, and nothing like playing an upright.
16. Looked into it a bit more and found this thread. So i've half answered my own question.
17. I never thought i'd say these words, but I like the 6 string single-cut. Nice pair.
18. I recently stumbled across this little beauty, 1980 fender precision finished in 'taupe'. I've looked into it a bit an have seen the colour also referred to as 'Sahara Taupe' and 'Desert Taupe'. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me: -what years was this finish in production? -how rare are they? -and roughly how much is this one worth? I realise a lot of people will see brown as ugly but personally I think it's a beautiful bass (and may look even better with a black pickguard).
19. Just out of interest, where abouts in suffolk are you?
20. I need three control plate/pickguard screws for project bass. Any knocking about? EDIT: In fact if there's any pickup screws and springs around too that would be very helpful. I can pay postage and maybe a couple of quid for the screws if required. Cheers, Mat
21. Thats stunning!
22. I think I could just about put my P bass GAS on hold to buy that bongo. Somebody has to buy my fretless status first though.
23. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-Strings-Neck-Body-...1QQcmdZViewItem Here's one to make you laugh. This seller actually has some alright stuff. There was an acoustic bass much more tastefully inlaid which didn't sell at 67p no reserve. I only didn't buy it because of the high shipping cost.
24. Out of interest, what's the bass on the far right in the bottom pic. The figuring on the neck is amazing.
25. Squier Classic Vibe series?
