1. If you search back through the for sale threads you can see and remember that it used to be normal to see standard stingrays going for £850. I think there was a real bad patch during late summer where on ebay people were selling stingrays for £500 or sometimes even less.
2. I'll take the neck. EDIT: In fact, i'll take both. What's the cost of postage?
3.
That would be me then. So, so happy with it, really beautiful instrument. We share the same year of birth too.
Bugger, just PMd john asking to buy it from him and now I see this. If you ever decide to part with it please let me know straight away.
4. The reason for the sterling is beacause on my ray I love the tone of old heavy guage strings for fingerstyle playing, but I play alot of slap so i'd use thin strings on the sterling and change them regularly for a bright slap sound. Otherwise if I bought a Precision I would use that prodominantly for fingerstyle and restring my ray for slap. However I am leaning towards the jazz at the moment as they are very versitile. (and i've dealt with john (the seller) before) Oh what to do?!?!
5. Basically I spend alot of time looking around, scouting out my next bass. Usually I can't find the right money or the right bass at the right time. But now I have the money and four potential basses have come up and I don't know which direction to turn. So the candidates are: -Fender CIJ Precision 62 reissue -Squier JV series Precision (with EMGs) -Musicman Sterling 2001 in medallion gold -Fender Jazz (Japanese) 1984-87 Just looking for the advice and experience of others to help me decide. Didn't want to make it a poll because I wan't to choose it myself but with extra information.
6. I've emailed the seller so i'll PM you when he replies. Thanks.
7. That would be great if you could, as long as it's not too much trouble. If it's legit and doesn't sell it will no doubt be relisted so there should be some time. The guy seems genuine through his description but that zero feedback really scares me.
8. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=270323716229 I've fallen in love with this bass, it's exactly what i've been looking for but the seller has no feedback. I wan't the bass but can't afford to risk a possible scam. Anyone know the seller?
9. That's exactly what a fender P should look like. You simply can't beat olympic white with tort.
10. Stunning result, wish I could do that. Looking forward to the mkII, any chance of a musicman build too?
11. I checked the video for 'unholy' and it does seem to be the same or a similar bass used. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nwMpLHaDAq4 Seen best around 1:07-1:14.
12. Ok lads, up for sale at last i think. Offers no less than £450 and i'd prefer to do a deal where buyer picks up or organises their own courier to pick up.
13. Does it come with a hard case it can be shipped in?
14. This is dangerously tempting. Hmm... i'll see how things go.
15.
MB1. Youd be better off selling this outright while youve got cash interest! Either that or list it on the Statii Forum, people generally buy a fretless as an additional bass, not many folks are gonna think,O a fretless status I'll trade me Status fretted for it? ......But they might wish to give you Filthy Cold Hard cash For it!
I know, thanks for the advice but I really don't want to be without a backup bass while i'm waiting with my cash for the right bass to come along. Especially as i've started gigging with my new band. I might buy a squier as a backup so I can sell the status and start looking.
16. Another BUMP. It's still sitting in it's case. To be honest I expected a bit more interest. For conformation I can potentially add about £400-500 with the bass bringing the trade to a possible value of almost £1000. However the actual trade does not have to be that much, it can be anything as cheap as squiers (£200?) or as expensive as a grand so offers on absolutely anything fretted will be considered. And i'd also like to note i'm not picky about condition, even though the S1 is pretty mint.
17. DON'T SELL IT!!!
18. Anyone wanna part-ex a musicman sterling, squier classic vibe jazz or status S2? (obviously with appropriate cash adjustments) Anything else considered.
19.
My fretted Status is still available
I'm still unsure about that one. I'm gonna keep waiting for a bit and hope something comes up.
20. BUMP I'm still unsure about selling but it's not getting played at all. I'd love to keep it but I really need something more useful to me (i.e. a fretted bass). Are there really no trades/part-exchanges out there? Musicman Status Fender G&L ...anything else fretted!
21. I played one the other day and I hated it. The body was uncomfortable, the action was pretty bad, it had an awful case of neck dive and tonally it was nothing special. Hate to sound like a grumpy rump but I really couldn't get on with it.
22.
a clear pickguard would give meaning and a sense of purpose to the lives of those screws nice gear by the way
