Peavey Millenium AC BXP (reduced price)

The SUB pickup is as good quality as the SR pickup (not compromised despite being a cheaper bass) and I don't think you should replace either. If you are going to install the Kent Armstrong I think you should use it to make your SUB an HH. Any mods to a Stingray is likely to bring it down in value but the SUB's value might actually increase with a second pup installed.
I had one just like that, stunning bass
I remember yours was for sale on the forum a while back. It had a much nicer neck than mine though.

*Keeping it* Musicman Bongo HS 5 String (gold) For trade/sale
mathewsanchez replied to Jobiebass's topic in Basses For Sale
Bumpo, although I am starting to get used to the pickup and wondering if I should get rid of it now at all. Ill keep it up here for a little while longer but im either keeping it or selling it in about a month.
Keep it. Your killing me by having it up for sale. It actually made me consider trading my ray, but I can never let it go. -

I'm gonna take up busking with a couple of mates and I need an acoustic bass. I've come across a few 'potentials' but i'm still unsure. The ones i'm currently looking at are the Ibanez EWB20WNE-NT, the Fender BG31 or the Epiphone El Capitan. Does anyone have experience with any of these basses or any others they would recommend? Cheers, Mat

Thats my favourite look for a precision. Just slap a tort on that jazz and you've got my favourite looking fenders.

'Old Red'. My beautiful 2EQ Stingray completed on 5th December 1989. The finish is trans red and i've put a clear pickguard on it so you can see the figuring of the wood. It's an amazing bass with lots of punch and the aggressive that 2 band Stingrays are known for. ...and with a black pickguard.
WAL basses - either my MK I 1985, my MK II fiver 1987, or my customized fretless hybrid-WAL with the 1979 neck. Sometimes, for some rough tunes, I use my customized 1997 Stingray. Incredible tonal spectrum.
Any pictures of the Stingray?

EB Musicman Stingray 4 - Black with Maple neck - SOLD
mathewsanchez replied to basspyro's topic in Basses For Sale
For sale is my EB Musicman 4 stringer, it's in good condition, a couple of tiny dings and even smaller scratches. It comes with an official EB Musicman case, which has one crack a corner that no way effects its integrity. I'm looking for £750 or Jazz or Precision (plus cash, depending on the bass) Pics to follow ASAP Phil
It doesn't actually say anywhere whether it's a Stingray or Sterling. I'd guess its a Ray because they're more common but I think this ad needs more description or pictures. -
Upon your death... who gets your bass(es)?

Has anyone actually been buried with their bass? If so where? How deep? And where can i buy a good shovel? -
Well i usually use Stainless steel 90-30 roundwounds.
Yeah, most stainless steel strings should be alright, DR Lo-Riders or Fat Beams are my favourites on the Cort from experience (a bit heavier guage than what you play with, probably 100-40). I used to use EB super slinkys but they tend to go dead quite quickly.
Based on the fact that the guy on here is trying to get £400 for his i think you got a pretty good deal.
Yeah thats me. Cort's RRP is like £900 so i'd say £150 is an amazing deal. It doesn't sound quite like my musicman but the slap and wah switches, two pickups and 3EQ offer a wide range of tones/sounds. It's a very comfortable bass when setup properly and is fast and easy to play. Just one thing, the sound of the bass is largely dependant on what strings you've got on it, so you might have to experiment with different strings for a bit.

Sadly he's not trading the Shark anymore as he's got a new bass, so it's for sale only. I've just bought a stingray so i'm skint at the moment an can't afford it. If only someone would buy my cort.

What Bass ? Punchy Sound + Precision Neck + Pickgaurd
mathewsanchez replied to BassBomber414's topic in Bass Guitars
Have you ever tried a Stingray? I think that might suit your needs nicely, and with the used market as it is, you should be able to get one within budget.
+1 Definately a StingRay. I got mine around £600-ish and I love it. Similar neck size to a precision and is punchy as you like. I'd suggest, although I have the 2EQ model (and love it to bits), if you're looking to boost the mids, go for 3EQ ray.
