  1. Proper bargain, l've played through my mates cabs and they sound great...glwts!
  2. My R400 sounds great at really low practice/front room volume and achieves a lovely valve overdriven sound at any level. Perhaps the amp in question has been roughly throw about in transit from Poland...it wouldn't surprise me in the least. When l played with all valve amps in the 70's ( showing my age now) l always seem to have fairly frequent problems with them caused by people throwing them about in our Tranny! (Am l allowed to say that word these days haha)... There are other people who have ordered this amp who are on this forum...let's have their thoughts. Will be interested to find out.
  3. My R400 stage animal sounds sublime at low volume too! What an amp!... bought it off here and it instantly made my other two amps redundant. I use it constantly now...no mid control..no worries, just turn the bass and treble down a nats!
  4. Its probably what l should have done with my old American made SVT3 Pro. As it got older l used to have a few issues with it. Eventually sold it on (fully working of course) after getting fed up of taking it to a well known amp tech in Stockport. Can't remember his name now though lol.
  5. Weight and price please? It looks absolutely the dogs.....
  6. Just had my first P bass wiring loom built by John and I must say it's top notch, a real master class in soldering skills and neatness. Great comms/advice from John and fast delivery. Very pleased, thank you.
  7. These really are great little amps especially the MK2 version, I love mine. Great price too, glwts!
  8. How on earth do these beauties survive an absolute mauling and the inevitable buckle rash....just amazing. GLWTS bud!
  9. I have a 71 Jazz that I bought from Si off here and its Collector Grade 10/10....looks like its just come out of the factory. I play it at most giggs and its an absolute joy to play.....like I said they were built to be played.
  10. It really is incredible that some instruments such as this are in pristine condition after 51 years. Leo made these to be played and gigged regularly, not stuck in its case and pushed under the bed....
  11. Absolute farce and total embarrassment that a band headlining a gig doesn't have their own gear....... When we headline we always allow the support to use our gear if needed not the other way around.
  12. Playing on the pavement? Really! I would have told them where to shove it, loaded my gear back in the car (in truth l wouldn't have got it out having seen the set up) and then l would have waved goodbye, phoned my good lady Mrs Woody to ask her which takeaway curry she wanted and to get netflix ready for my return...cosy night in! Sorry but would never put up with that sh@t
  13. The contour control cuts the mids when you it up.
  14. I cant emphasise how awesome these amplifiers are, I've got the R400! Played last Friday and Saturday and drew praise from random people in the audience about my tone\sound. I love these amps, so easy to work with.
  15. I feel very happy and fortunate in my very mature age to be with a band who all get on really well, are really accomplished musicians with a top singer, play great soul/Motown music, have our own small but powerful PA which our sax player owns and likes to set up himself and we go out regularly twice a month, 3 times at a push. I have a rig which is light weight and a lovely collection of basses I can choose from. We play gigs that are a maximum of an hour from home and I'm usually back in for 1.00am nursing a beer or a single malt. Life is good but I have to admit, the only downside is I'm walking about like Tin Man for a couple of hours next morning.....small price to pay though.
