1. Try some Dylon hot water fabric dye. I dyed a shirt black a few years ago - the shirt faded, the buttons stayed black. Should only take a minute to take the whiteness away. A
 2.
I would assume the OC-2 mode would use the same circuit as the OC-2. I've not tried it, but someone else here did AB them.
Afraid not. The OC-2 mode is a digital model of an OC-2. The sounds are pretty close, but doesn't track the same. A
 3.
Anyone know if several generators can be earthed together?
I wouldn't recommend using multiple generators unless their outputs are fully synchronised (and if they're small enough to be moved without a truck they probably won't be.) The reason for this is that the AC signals may well be out of phase, and if your amp is plugged into one phase and your mic into another then you could end getting zapped in a big way. A
 4. You have to order one or the other. It's not possible for a cab to switch between 4 and 8 Ohms and still have all the speakers working. A
 5. You could do a lot worse than the Zoom B2 or B2.1u. Good sounds, relatively simple to program and operate, and fairly cheap. A
aaaaaaaaaaah a 'Combiner' Pedal is what I am after! Morley seem to do one and its a tad expensive for such a simple pedal... oh well atleast they exist!
I built a pedal last year for BC member mojobass that was an ABC box with volume controls. I reckon I could put together something that'll do what you want at a reasonable price (certainly cheaper than the Morley). PM me and we can discuss your needs. A
 7. My fave song from the Madchester scene, lovely bassline. A
 8. Sold Chris a speaker. Nice easy transaction, no problems. Recommended. A
 9. Still definitely coming The offer of a lift to anyone between MK and St Ives still stands. Anyone in the Bedford area maybe? A
 10.
That would probably work. Depending on what your adaptor does it might only give you the left channel. To avoid that I took an old bit of headphone cable (with an 1/8" stereo jack) and connected a mono jack plug where the headphones used to be, making sure to connect both left and right wires to the tip of the mono jack plug.
If you plan to go down this route, it's a good idea to put a small resistor (1/8 Watt, 50-100 Ohms) between each of the 'hot' wires from the headphone cable and the tip of the mono jack. That way, you won't risk shorting your left and right channel output amps together. A
 11. I'd forget the EPQ2000 and get this instead. Total bargain - even running at 4 Ohms per side that's less than 10p per Watt. I used to run the 1500 version, both as PA and as part or my bass rig, and never had a problem with them. The only downside is that they ain't light. A

 14. So, what's the score then? Just over a week to go and no confirmation that it's going ahead yet (or did I miss that bit?) A

 16. More or less anything by Cowboy Junkies Margo Timmins has the most amazing voice of any female singer, bar none. A
 17. If you're after a 12 + 6 cab, why not have a look at Greenboy's fEarful 12+6? Not too hard to build and you could finish it any way you like. A
 18. Take a look at any old Peavey stuff you see too. Older TNT & TKO combos can sometimes be picked up in tatty but working condition for less than £50. Nothing special, but they're loud enough, and more or less bulletproof. A
 19. I find it pretty easy to sing and play at the same time, athough most of my lines are pretty simple anyhow. I tend to simplify complex lines while I'm actually singing (hardly anyone's listening to the bass then anyway), and leave the tricky fills & stuff for the quiet bits between the lyrics.
I can barely speak to someone when I'm playing bass.
That's normal - playing an instrument uses parts of the language centre of the brain, so it's rare to be able to play and converse simultaneously. Singing while playing is easier for the brain to do, as it's coordinating voice and hands to work together. Remember what it was like when you first played a bass, trying to get both hands to work together? Same thing, just with a third dimension added. A

 21.
thanks Dave. - can you explain why its cool to run on one cab? it does actually mean one of the amps is running without anywhere to send its load...doesn't it?
The higher the impedance your speakers are, the less power you'll get from your amp, and the less hard the amp has to work to deliver that power (less current flowing = less heat). Running with no speakers plugged in is effectively an infinitely high impedance, so no power output and no current flow. A

 24.
This looks quite interesting, although, not just a poweramp though, and I can't see an effects loop, so I guess can't be used as one: - http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_ba500h.htm
There's an Aux input that'd probably work. They also do a 250W version of the same head, and it's silly cheap:
Oh dear.... not these muppets again.... Avoid like the plague...
+1. More trouble than they're worth
Roll your own amp, http://www.hypex.nl/ , 180W, 400W & 700W available, think these can be bridged too (don't quote me on that). A guy over on talkbass put a hypex amp into a fEarful cabinet. Hypex now do SMPS to go with these power amps, lots of power, low weight.
Hypex modules are good. I can also recommend Coldamp, especially the active speaker pack. For those who haven't seen it, a couple of years ago I put together a small power amp for a fellow Basschatter for this very purpose. Build thread can be found here.
