1.
Each cap has 25V, so i'll be aiming for something betwen 16.6V and 18.75V. I don't realy know the voltages available in the market. Would a 16V be enough or should i look for something with 18V?
I'd look for an 18V unit. The next commonly available value below this is likely to be 15V.
I know what those are, just one doubt - is there a specific order to connect the two red wires (shown in the picture in the 1st post) or they can be connected any way - i supose the black is ground and has to be left in the middle position!
The two red wires can be connected either way round. The black is not a ground as such (although it is probably connected to ground at some point), it is the common connection between the two secondary coils. Secondaries can be connected in series or parallel, in the same way as batteries (except with AC Voltage instead of DC). In this case, they are connected in series.
Done that! It's 250mA.
250mA is the current drawn from the mains grid. If this is multiplied by the Voltage of the mains grid you will get the power required. So, 0.25A x 230V = 57.5W (strictly 57.5VA, but that starts to get a bit complicated). A transformer rated at around 50VA should be fine for an amplifier like this one.
If from what i've posted here if you can advise me a suitable transformer i'll be much apreciated. From what i've learned from you i'm looking for something like: +/-16V with 0.25A(min) or +/-18V with 0.25A(min) Do i have this right?
Close! I would say you should look for a 50VA transformer with +/-18V secondaries. If you have access to RS, then this one should work OK.
of course, 1x12 would be nicer, but I do really doubt that it exists, less than 10kg thing.. so 1x10 is ok.
http://barefacedbass.com/index.php?page=midget Made by Alex Claber from these very forums. 5. Check the voltage rating of the 2 large capacitors on the PCB. If you aim for a transformer voltage of around 2/3 to 3/4 of this value then you'll be in the right ballpark. You'll need a transformer with a dual secondary coil, which will usually be listed as +/- ##Volts or 2x##Volts. Check the maximum power requirement on the back of the amp, and make sure the power rating of the transformer is the same as that or a bit more. It's not a perfect solution, but if the transformer's blown and you can't get a schematic it's about the best you can do. HTH A

Sold a preamp to Darren. Super easy transaction, would definitely do it again. A

  11.
Fully two thirds of the tweeter frequency range is above where it offers any benefit with bass.... The primary reason why tweeters are offered instead of midrange drivers is cost.
I may have said this before, but here goes. A while back, I had a chance to play with a high end stereo crossover that I cascaded to make a single 96dB/Octave channel. Playing with the crossover frequencies I determined that there's almost nothing coming out of your bass above 8kHz (slapping, snapping and popping with brand new strings), and very little useful output above 5-6 kHz. Cabs with a top end of 22kHz is crazy, there's nothing up there but hiss. If you have a good quality mid, like Alex's Big One or one of Greenboy's fEarful cabs use, you'll have all the useable top you'll ever need. A

    Zoom B2 Guru's

It's an overdriven guitar going through a tremolo set to something close to a square wave pattern, with a more or less clean bass note behind it. You could probably get away with using OD and trem on the bass, and playing high up the neck. Don't worry too much about whether your version sounds exactly like the recording - make it your own. People will still know what it is. A
  14.
Ahh crap. Well, It's as if the amp can't handle low notes
Got it in one. If you turn the volume way down on the amp the buzzing may well go away. Generally amps like this are built with a generic speaker and no thought is given to the sounds they need to produce. If you compare your amp to a similar sized but better designed amp (a Peavey Microbass is a good starting point) you'll really hear the difference. It may be time for you to upgrade your amp.
Oh and what are the chances It's dodgy PUs? I'd doubt it highly but it's a possibility. I'm using a Warwick Rockbass Corvette, and I love it So I'd hate for it to be the problem.
Fairly unlikely. Rockbasses are pretty solid, well put together instruments on the whole. A
  15.
(It's a cheap B.B Blaster Practise amp)
There's your problem. I've yet to find any of these super cheap amps that's built properly. Most of them don't even bother putting the speaker in a seperate box to the electrical chassis. A

  19.
I think it's a confidence thing, I was always bad with this but you've just got to sing like you mean it if you'll pardon the cliche. No pedal can replicate confidence successfully IMO.
Plus the one. I started out not singing at all, then moved on to doing a bit of BVs. As my confidence grew I took lead on one song in the set. I now sing lead on all but 3 or 4 songs with my current band. The other thing about backing vocals it that they're just that - backing. It doesn't matter if your voice is a bit iffy (as long as you're not actually out of tune) as your voice is only there to thicken up the sound of the lead singer. A
  20.
OK Laurence thanks - I checked for resistance and there's nothing. That's the second blooming driver that's gone in this pair - not sure if it's the same actual one - could something be wrong with the crossover or have I just hammered them too much? The speakers are pretty much redundant to be honest so guess it'll make a nice big paperweight!! Now - what to do with the other driver? Are these speakers good for bass cabs?
Just checked it out in WinISD Col, and it seems the Kappa Pro is more suited to midbass operation. It will tune down to about 50Hz, but it'll need a mahoosive box to do it, and it won't handle much more than 100 Watts or so. No real suggestions as to what you can do with them though - maybe you could give ebay a go if they're surplus to requirements? A
  21. I usually refer to a note as sharp in an ascending scale/run, and flat if it's decending. BTW, my theory knowledge is almost non-existent. A
