1. Just taken delivery of a Korg Pitchblack which appears to be dead on arrival so will need to go back for a swap. Been using a Tanglewood clip on hittherto.
2. We'll be strutting our stuff at the Black Horse... Monkgate is just outside the city walls at Monk Bar.
3. I think the new one looks like a "tribute" to the Ltd Phoenix 204/1004...if you look at the cutaway and reverse headstock. Coincidence I'm sure, but the Phoenix is out of production I think
4. Missing - Everything but the girl We're doing this currently. Good tune.
5. Silly money for an Ibanez and a nice twist on a P theme too. Good score!
6. Hi If you don't get an answer here and if you do Facebook, it would be worth checking the Bass VI group there. A lot of knowledge and experienced owners. Rod
7.
Very Dave mustaine
With a hint of Rebecca Brooks
8. Beatles - Sergeant Pepper, which I haven't listened to properly for, ahem, 40 of years. Oldest daughter thinks Keef is right. But that's a whole other thread;) Sly and the Family Stone - Stand. Wonderful!
9. I recall someone in the BC community (can't remember who) saying something like "if you're going to play in a worship group, do it for spiritual reasons rather than musical ones, otherwise you'll be conflicted". Having said that, I'm with the OP on this. "Community" also means asking " would it be OK if...?" or "do you think it would work if...?". Not just turning up!
10.
this thread being bumped makes me want a t40 again
Sigh. Me too!
11.
My home patch, we 'grew' a band there, learned three songs a week betwen 7 and 9.00 then went and performed them at the Howl open mic, then played our first paid gig at the Axe once we had a full set prepared. Wonder if you were there at the same time. This week coincidentally Elijah is moving the open mic to Cloakham Lawns in Axminster, the Axe is going to just run one open mic a month on a Thurs.
We've just rolled up in Beer a few miles away (just in time for the monsoon), so we'll give Cloakham Lawns a go methinks. Pity no banjo with me though
