  1. that's a good point ref the velcro actually I wonder if racking it would be better. (this is so I don't have to mess about plugging it in and setting it up, everytime I do a gig) anyone racked the RM500 I wonder
  2. quick question for you with the GLXD16+ does it come with a power supply for the receiver? On the shure site it says it does but no one else says anything about it (as far as I can see) I'm not putting it on my pedal board because I don't have one, I was going to velcro it to the top of my RM500 EVO II (I may rack my RM500 though, then it could go in next to it) TIA
  3. I'm doing this in U2 Tribe (U2 tribute) I have a bass in standard tuning and a bass in Eb The songs are grouped together, so I'm not constantly changing basses It works very well for me
  4. I would suggest you try some KZs. There only about 50 quid. get some comply foam tips too they really have changed my life. Without them, I would have to stop gigging
  5. I watched that sight and sound gig over and over and became quite a lizzy fan (and a Sykes fan) both gone now, such a shame
  6. yes I've done it too
  7. really? you dont get a good bass sound. What IEMs are you using? I get a fab sound thru my KZs (both sets) we mic up everything so can get a good mix in the ears
  8. I'd try the cold tea method and see what happens I'm about to do it to mine that I'm working on
  9. I'll try and remember to listen in
  10. at the moment, I used bass amp + cab and IEMs The bass always goes into the desk, so I could ditch the bass amp I can't play without ear protection now, loud is too painful. I cant stand next to acoustic drums, so always have my moulded earplugs The gig I did on saturday, the DJ was SSSOOOOOOO LOUD. My IEM mix was dreadful. They gave us 30 minutes to set up and do a line check FOH sounded great. My bass sound in my ears was dreadful, couldnt hear the keys very well etc but got through it ok what I really like with the IEM, is that I can hear my bass so well, sounding wonderful and I don't hit the strings so hard, so I play better The drummer in my Police trib was IEM but he's stopped atm, which means I can't go ampless yet
  11. doesnt he have his bass high up
  12. yes it's a roland bass synth bass thru a dynachord combo IIRC

  15. I bouight a jazz bass neck from Aliexpress it turned up, has a fender decal and usa serial number I will attached it to a body in the next few months and see how it goes it looks and feels nice I bought a similar one from ebay and have actually gigged with it. It set up well, so I'll leave it be for now
  16. here's a vid of the bass in action. Excuse the wafty playing. I've never actually learned to play this song and I was 5 or 6 pints in by now https://www.facebook.com/TheBellInnShepherdswell/videos/1713580365912285

  18. nice, thank you interesting editing. During the middle 8 in I will follow, there's a shot of The Edge with a strat still cant see the logo my question still, a jazz neck, maple with dots!!
  19. when you say jazz bass logo, what kind? The 70s TV logo? jazz with dots?
  20. I have 2 mark bass cabs 1x15 club and 2x10 club very occasionally I'll use both but stick with the 15 generally, (lighter and PA support) There's an ashdown RM 4x10 too which comes out on bigger stages
  21. lovely bass, very aggresive tone. scooped. Very loud it is I will probably change the pickup and wire it like a P bass but it needs proper strings, it's strung with weedy things the reverso is the same
  22. it is a quarter pounder yes
