I used a HA3500 for 10 years, with an original USA made transporter 4x10 (aluminium speakers) and it was great. I finally worked out about leaving the EQ flat when I had my Musicman bass. My original amp developed a fault after about 7 years, so I bought another new one. Now I'm using an ampeg pf500 (in my Police tribute) but the bass player in my pub rock band (which I play guitar) in still using the hartke (it's my wife on the bass in this band) but I still have a lot of love for the hartke

bins are 30 kgs each but have excellent casters and very well placed handles , which makes lifting them easy. top cabs are (I think) 14kg each. We're at the george on the 14th July come and have a listen

hello Boris, my old bass!! If I had the money I'd buy it back. It was my first 'proper' bass. I'm sure I bought it in '83. It originally had a different bridge (it's got a badass on it now I think). A great bass

Hello Tim, The guy in The English Rogues had a manson as a back up to his old rick. I sold the bass to a bloke that claimed to work for Hugh Manson, that was back in '96. The girl that joined Girlschool (Tracy Lamb used to be in Rock Goddess) she had one, (I think it was the one reviewed in a a magazine). I saw Tracy at a gig in Deal, watching Anvil, should have asked her really. I haven't seen or heard of the Tiger one since. How's tricks Tim?

shouldn't do. you'll hear if the bass drum is distorting anything. PA speakers are full range but use your ears

I use an EUB on Police tribute gigs but I'll be buggered if I'm getting a spare for that!! My P bass let go on me once. Pickup went open circuit, since then I carry a spare bass.

I'll be honest, I don't think that would be good enough, not for outdoors. Ok to practise through. Having said that, when I first started gigging properly (25 years ago) our singer had the obligatory HH 100 watt PA and a pair of speakers and it was good enough. But we all had proper amps, 100 watt valve marshalls and 150 watt Trace with 4x12 marshall cab and acoustic drums. so the PA only had to tackle vocals. We did some outdoors stuff like fetes and it was good enough to play to the small crowds that gathered. My current bands rehearse in my studio (it's a giant shed!!) with a 400 watt Peavey powered mixer , electric drums and everything goes through the PA, (guitars use line 6 Pods). It's great for rehersal but lacks all sorts of oomph. There's a lot of good gear available at reasonable money.

you can learn to be a frontman. You've learned to play bass and you've learned the songs, so now learn to be at the front. Personally I am a quiet and fairly shy person, (people often call me aloof because I shy away from people and don't talk to them between sets or whatever) but give me an audience and a gig, (albeit as a singer, guitarist, bassist or any combination) and I change personality. Of course it's easier if the gig is going well but when you're playing to one man and his dog at the frog and bucket and it's only the dog that's interested in you that can make it a little tougher!!
