1. any ideas, I'm going to send it back anyway. Nothing has changed from last usage. Playing away, it cuts out and the yellow fault light comes on. no sound for about 5-10 seconds, light goes off, sound comes back. after one set, (we changed everything, bass, lead, transmitter) we went direct into the powered monitor which has a speaker extension socket, which we plugged into the bass cab. It all worked very well. any ideas, (so I can tell the shop what it might be) thanks for your help
2. Selling my approx 6 year old beatle bass. Bought it to hang on my wall in my lounge. It's done 2 or three gigs and is in excellent condition. I sit and play it when I'm learning songs. It's tobacco sunburst and has the German made pickups. No case, but I have the original box and hang tag. It's in almost perfect condition, a few very small marks and a little tarnishing of the hardware. comes with it's factory fitted roundwound strings Looking for £300. It's a bargain and that's shipped folks!! PM me
3. don't know how to embed, but here's some police tribute that I do http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2mlUDKszy0U http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2RudkX65ocg
4. here's a Jam tribute I helped out for a few gigs, (note heavily strapped little finger. Dislocated while playing cricket, ouch!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xl9st1CNPxU
5. I have a mid 70's P bass. Paid bugger all for it in 1990. It's done over a thousand gigs with me, I had it set up when I got it and the guitar tech found Jimmy Page's phone number in the neck pocket , he phoned it and Jimmy got the arse!! I have used all sorts over the years but keep coming back to it. However, in my police tribute band I use a 70's re-issue Jap fretless P bass , The Fender Sting bass and now a Stagg EDB. None of them expensive or complicated. I used to have a Jaydee Mark King. I couldn't get a single usable tone from it. Lovely to play and to look at, but no soul.
6. So yesterday I depped on vocals for a band featuring son of Cornford amps (James Cornford ) on guitar and they turned up with Chris Slade on drums. F**K me. I got to sing some AC/DC with a member of AC/DC. What a nice chap too!! just thought I'd share
7. you can see the buckle rash here. I think I might be able to polish it out
8. I actually tried my gear out in a fantastic shop in Italy, near where my mum lives. They sell Ampeg, Markbass, Genz Benz, Epiphani, Aguiler, Marshall, Orange, Hiwatt, Line 6, and more, what's more they had tons of stock of different heads and cabs. I actually waited on making my decision till I went to this shop. They also have good prices but it was getting home to the UK which was the problem. My PF500 + my '75 P bass = heaven
9. excellent clip. I'm becoming more of a Sting fan all the time. Must put more solo stuff in my tribute set. and WHAT a fab looking bass
10. I put my PF500 through a mark bass club 1x15 and it sounds incredible. Warm and punchy. I originally tried it through a mark bass std 4x10. The shop felt like it was going to fall down we D.I on most gigs now anyway. I've got this fantastic QSC PA system and we mic everything up
11. picking up a great '62 squier today. Same owner from new and in fine condition. A little buckle rash but unused for the past 10 years. It's light and sounds great. I've always wanted one of these and I found this one, quite literally, on my doorstep. pics to follow
12. Firstly, I couldn't find a section on the site to post this wonderful information. I've recently been playing bass for my friends Sean & Mandy. They are the parents of the young drummer lad, who was on Britains got talent a few years ago, (His name is Kieran Gaffney). ( he is unbelievably good. Great technique and he actually listens to the bass player). Now, Sean & Mandy (Mandy was totally ripped to shreds by Simon Cowell, which is a bit unfair really) are pros. That is to say, they make a living from their playing. So, they bought this PA system, made by QSC. Each cab is 1000 watts each and is full of DSP trickery, They use the K12 tops and the Ksub bass units. I was so impressed with the power and the portability that I also invest the necessary £3K to buy the same rig. So, last night I decided to do a full band mic up. DI the bass guitar and Good grief!!!! Everyone I spoke to commented on the unbelievable quality of sound. They could hear the vocals perfectly and moreover, the effects of the voices became totally crystal clear. I used this rig in my Police tribute band a couple of weeks ago and it got the same comments, especially from the people that come to see us a lot. If anyone is looking for a new sound system, you really need to check this stuff out.
13. nice, did you relic the poly finish? how did you get the checking?
14. I'd use it on more than a couple. A crew? in my dreams )
15. no idea, but probably more than I could afford at the moment. pm me if you like
16. I can't wait. But I'm gonna have to wait for it. John at Bravewood is a bigger Sting fan than me. He sounds like a really top bloke. This bass will be used by me, in my Police Tribute band. Normally I play a young Sting, 'flying suit, shades and a Fretless 70's P Bass' but this gives me the oppurtunity to play a grown up Sting too. anyone got a Van Zalinge Z bass for sale?
17. looking for £50. plus £15 shipping It seems what ever price you put, people try and knock you down,
18. I've had this from new, about 10 years now. Bought new gear and now it's time to move it on. It's been covered its whole life and is in good nick. Front grill is a bit pressed in but not too bad really. It's on fleabay and I can ship for £15 quid. Definately one speaker is done for. The rest are all ok but because they are wired in pairs, one down means the other one of its pair is also down. So, put a meter across and swapped them about and defo, only one blown. I went to my local music shop today, to see if they had a speaker (they sell a lot of hartke stuff) and they had an aluminium speaker from a bugera. It's 8 ohms and looks just about the same AND it works. I've put in and it sounds fine. I'll even leave the very heavy duty castors on it £50 plus shipping (£15) This is a USA made cab and is well built PM me if you're interested cheers Sting!!
