2. Having had the coincidence of a gig around the corner from Nick, I popped round to acquire an NS WAV bass from him. He was extremely helpful thorough the process, and very accommodating about my changing arrival times. He also talked me through the bass thoroughly before I walked out the door. Unfortunately, he allowed me to have a bash on his wonderful Rob Allen Mouse bass and this has sparked a whole new bout of very expensive GAS. Top chap, classic Basschat purchase, wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.
3. Shaun bought my EHX freeze having posted an ad in the wanted section. No hassle sale, prompt payment, quick comms. Would happily deal with him again.
4.
What program do I need to run the demo file? I'm using Windows 7 and it doesn't recognize the file type.
You probably need to change the file extension to .mp3. Then it'll play in your media player. 👍
5. I'm sure I won't be the only one to say Yamaha BB bass. Best P/J in available. Perfect for your needs.
6. I hadn't realised until I scrolled through this thread that this is the second time I've bought a pedal from Carlos. This time an EHX Superego. As before the entire process has been smoother than a well greased Barry White on a bowling alley. Seriously though, great comms, quick delivery and item as described. Thanks again - I look forward to out next transaction.
7.
Made by a chap called Clive Cherry...who made a short run for Ashbory/Bass Centre and then got an offer he couldn't refuse for his premises and closed up shop. I was after one of these for a long time!
Clive is the guy that gave me the pre amps. Top chap; a wealth of knowledge and experience.
8. I remember picking up the flyer (pictured at the bottom above) from the Bass Centre in the 90's. If memory serves it has Doug Wimbish wealding the Ashbory on the other side. I later met one of the builders of the Mk2 Ashborys, who gave me a few spare preamps and all of his spare silicon strings he had lying about in his workshop. I was into building pedals at the time and planned to put the pre amps into pedal boxes. The strings were unfortunately totally perished and so were consigned to the bin.
9. Wow, you don't see many of those up for sale. GLWTS
10. I really like mine, as you say the neck is great. I would have a good go with it first though as it sounds a little different to your usual passive PJ. Not in a bad way, just different. Price seems fair to me too.
11.
Pm'd
Replied
12. Well compared to some of you lot I have a pretty streamlined selection: Markbass F1 GK MB200 Line 6 Studio 110 Ampeg B100r x2 Ampeg V4B '76 And a pair of Bergantino 12" cabs Thats it, although I do have many pre's and effects boxes that'll act as pre's if need be Oh, and I have a couple of power amps too: SWR SM800 and an Ashdown ABM APM 1000. Gosh, that's more than I thought
13.
Looks like it is the older version of the BTS system...thanks for the site..awesome
My pleasure. I just happened to be looking up EMG wiring diagrams the day I spotted your post.
14.
I predict that housing prices will get lower later this year so I'll say forget about it first and spend the money on a gold bass. :-D
Ha! I'm really trying hard to resist.
15. Still no pics, I shall address this #uslesssalespitch
16. Price Drop and title rename, if you need a rear J pickup for a project, let me know I'm sure we can work something out.
17. Insane price drop on an already crazy cheap cab. will entertain trades for pedals - try me.
18. Quick price drop, I will leave these up until the end of the week and then off to the Bay. feel free to send offers.
19. I was just thinking about this bass the other day, like Si, if I wasn't about to move I would be buying this.
20. Have a look on here: http://www.sonic.net/~emgman/wiringbook.html
21. Got mine on Priority yesterday - Very much looking forward to seeing Joe Dart and the band in the flesh.
22.
What are the Overdrives and distortin like on these?
I think they're very good, saying that, I'm not using tonnes of distortion, more just warming up with slight OD. I do have a Big Muff patch which seems really good.
What abut tracking on the octave stuff?
Very good, the bass octave model (based on the EBS octabass) is spot on, and I'm a bit of an octave snob, so I dont say that lightly.
Decent envelope filter?
In an ideal world I'd like more control of the parameters here, but with EQ and compressor tweaking it's possible to get decent filters.
What's the 4 cable method? Effects send and return?
See here: http://www.dawsons.c...-guide-benefits
