1. Hi Just sold Ahpook my microbass 2 , lovely chap instant payment and covered my paypal costs, great guy to deal with highly recommended- lee Top chap, smooth transaction-Sold a DHA Compressor to him, instant payment. All the best Bass brethren. Cheers
2. Hi there The scratch on th front is the worst one by far, all the other dings are very small, like all basses get when they,ve been used professionally for over 5 years ( 5 sets a day 7 days a week), the coloured oil satin finish on the LX basses is quite soft and easily dinged, and try as i might a fes small dings are inevitable. Regarding the sound, i also own a musicman sterling and a 82 squire jazz and the warwick is totally diffrent it has its own sound, but the overall bias is toward the sound of a musicman, you can split the humbucker into single coil then use it with the jazz, but it doesnt sound owt like a fender jazz, more like the traditional warwick sound( like the LX with 2 x MEC jazz pickups, the MEC musicman humbucker does have diffrent outputs when switching between series/paralell mode, not sure if thats the norm on these basses, im sure other Basschatters can verify this, i do tend to favour the paralell setting mixed with the jazz, this gives me the best of both worlds,, if your wanting crisp slap sounds, it can do that, it does have a very warm sound for a warwick , more so than the all maple bodied (the jazzman has a swamp ash body with a figured maple top)which prob has more bite for slap, it has an MEC 3 band EQ which to be honest i usually keep fairly flat, a bit of bass boost and a little mid cut, and it sounds clear well rounded and modern and ive never had trouble cutting through very large bands(well im always being told inm too loud ha ha ) To be honest im talking myself out of selling it actually. Hope this helps mate- take care- lee ps will reply to your pm as well! Hey Lee, I've pm'd you now. I thought after sending the message that the questions I've asked might be of interest to other potential buyers too, or at least you can all laugh at me for being a goober and asking dumb questions! You said there's a few dings on the bass, Is the big scrape above the pickups the worst one? I'm assuming that it wouldn't still be there if it were just a case of polishing it out, right? I know the Jazzmans (Jazzmen?) are really tonally varsatile, but I'm not much of a knob-tweaker (oof!) so how much like a Fender Jazz does it sound without much tweakery? I mean with centre notch/all one way adjustments and so on. I'm not bothered if it doesn't sound just like a Fender (what would be the point?) but something of that ilk is what I'm after, I like a nice crisp slappy sound to cut through the mix. Cheers! 3. Thanks MB1 considering trades for an EBS multicomp for either pedal, get in touch lee
 4. Microbass 2 sold, you guys know you want the WAH 1 - lee Hi everyone new house and imminent fatherhood has devastated the coffers, so up for reluctant sale are a couple of my lovely toys. first off EBS WAH 1 volume/wah- as the title says its a dual mode pedal, has a range control for diffrent wah effects and also features the fantastic tube emulation circuit, must admit it sound fantastic but ive not really got much use out of, with the gigs i do, but it always gets a stomp in jams, very solid quality piece of kit. £85 posted EBS MICROBASS 2- The swiss army knife for bassists, includes channel switching, DI , preamp in one box, great sound basically a two channel version of the HD350 preamp, great for juggling two basses, or EUB as it is the only A/B switcher with a high impedence input, so works great with piezo pickups. it has a headphone socket for silent practice, effects loop, tube simulation, the works, once again not really got the use it deserves i bought to use with my steinberger, but ive kinda bottled gigging with it( i will eventually, too lazy to practice ). few of these for sale at mo, sign of the times, id like - NOW SOLD!!!!!!!!!! thanks mark EBS UNICHORUS- bit gutted about this one, triple mode chorus/flanger/pitch modulater, amazing rich sound, especially the chorus setting, doesnt thin out the sound at all, and has a little trimpot to control the amout of dry/effect in the sound, really lovely- £80 posted Sorry about the dodgy pic, its only temporary, the BOSS BCB60 will problably be for sale as well if these go, can power up to 8 pedals and very sturdy, The EBS octabass is not for sale, i love it too much. Hope you guys recognise a bargain,,all these pedals are in great nick as have not been used much no offers please, thanks for reading - lee
9. Bahhh were all in the sh*te mate tough times, ive just put my beloved warwick 5 up for sale, today, but if youve still got it, ill be looking for a replacement in the future, not playing enough to justify my gear really, and when baby arrives in a few weeks ill be lucky if im playing a teachest and broomhandle keep rockin mate- lee I wish mate, I wish. But I'm selling rather than investing at the moment. Feel free to have a nosey at my 91 Warwick Thumb 5 NT in the basses for sale section You could include the Wah as a trade I suppose
10. Hi everyone Up for trade is my Warwick streamer jazzman 5 in burgundy red, swamp ash body with a AA grade flamed maple top MEC musicman and jazz pickups with three way coil switching on MM pickup (a la musicman sterling) absolutley fantastic sound had nothing but compliments in the tone, incredibly versatile i have used this bass in most musical situations and it always fitted, warm sound with a modern edge ,more importantly it slaps great and sounds funky. Ive played this bass all over the world and it has collected a few dings, and one quite large dent in the front (courtesty of a drummers music stand during a force 10gale ) id only had it a month,(bought new £1300 from sound control in newcastle) this in no way affects the playability or tone of this instrument as im sure you all know. It has very recently been fret dressed and set up , it has also has an upgraded nut which is a big improvement. If anyone is near bolton lancs and fancies trying it out they are more than welcome. Would consider a Trade with similar value 5 string bass Especiall y a good jazz, fender marcus miller anyone!!! ot maple necked 70,s style. (NOW GONE!!!!!) all the best A few newer pics, see if any fancies it,

 13. The credit crunch continues Looking to get about £300 quid and a decent small amp for his, WHY, bumping my fantastic head!! lee Hi everyone Really not sure about this, am seeing whats out there!!! Looking at the possibility of trading down my amazing EBS TD650, for something smaller and lighter, and need a little cash due to impending house move. Dont need to waffle on too much about this head anyone who wants one knows what it can do solid state/valve preamp valve can be switched in when required for extra warmth/overdrive, and one of the best built in compressors ever, recently revalved with a groove tubes 12ax7 and housed in a warwick rockbag. Any info can be found on the EBS website, ill be happy to answer any questions via PM, I love this head but its really powerful and im only playing tiny pitt gigs (actually not even doing that till later in the year) and the odd jam with me mates, a bit of a waste i think, it needs to be used properly this head can do it all. Let me know what you all have! Trades considered- Markbass LMK , Littlemark2, F1, EA I amp 600, Warwick Tubepath 5.1, EBS HD 350(favourite trade) or SWR 550x and a bit o cash my way. (needing a bit cash or an Epifani UL502, as a swap would be great) Due to the weight and being really busy moving house and just about to have a baby, pickup from bolton would be preferred. let me know what you have- cheers- lee
14. am open for any trade offers, bump!!, what have you!!!-lee Cheers Pete Give me a PM if you fancy adding a Wah 1 or another Unichorus to your arsnal- lee Obviously, if they're selling, they're probably just after the cash, but it might be worth you hunting them out. Oh, and I have a TD650 too. Absobloodylutely fantastic amp. So have a free bump on me, and good luck finding what you're after.
15. Hi Clarky You are right the older p;s have a darker colour due to sweat and oils andprobably loads of rubbish in the air i,e smokey clubs, just a thought is yours rosewood or pau ferro, as pau ferro is a lot lighter in colour, i would do what a lot of people have suggested and regularly clean the board with lemon oil, oh and play and play and play and keep playing again for another ten years, get all those finger oils in there, i have a Jv squire jazz from 1982 ive had it 15 years myself and the rosewood board is a lovely deep reddy brown colour love it, but the lemon oil works wonders. take care mate- lee Hi, just modded a US Fender P to my specs (see Gear Porn). The only thing that rankles slightly is that the rosewood board is relatively light coloured, both compared to my 1990s-built Fender CIJ P-bass and to any vintage P bass I see on this Forum or elsewhere (presumably years of 'funk' causes this to happen naturally). Given that I am trying to recreate a vintage feel (with the aged DiMarzio creme pickups and celluloid scratchplate etc) I would prefer it to be darker - cosmetic I know but thats what I want. So is there a neck cleaning oil (lemon oil maybe?) or similar which also darkens the wood and artificially accelerates the natural process? Cheers Clarky
19. +1 it works for marcus miller gorgeous bass, would love that bass, have a bump-lee How about running your bass through a Sadowsky outboard preamp? That might give you what you're looking for.
20. HA HA well he did have a dodgy hand ooohh sorry uncalled for, good luck with the sale mate. get yourself a td 650 to go with the cab you wont regret it!! all the best mate-lee Lee tony sold that head a while ago. Found himself a girl and hardly plays the bass these days. Yes the man is MAD
21. Hi everyone!! Definately work in boomy hollow rooms, have found it tightens th sound and any loss of bottom can be EQ'd but at least you have that option, love mine and use it for all gigs, but you.d probably not tell the diffrence in a good room. Bass directs price is fantastic i paid £70 (with postage)for mine about 3 years ago, well worth a try for the cash, in fact i fancy the big one all the best-lee The feedback I have had from my customers is very impressive, although probably not necessary for all gigs I think these are the answer for those hollow stages and boomy rooms that crop up. Mark
22. Hi OJ ha ha so you liked the EBS great cabs eh, huge bump for a fantastic cab from a lovely bloke , let tony know know i may be considering trades on my TD 650 soon-lee
 23. Nickel is great, with a little garlic and some red wine , boiling is great have done it for years, have a special old pan, never dried them in the oven though, great idea, always used a clean!!! towel, if your going to boil a lot, its best to get strings which dont have silk windings, such as d,addarios, or DR'S, as silk gets a bit funky after a few boils. keep boiling guys- lee What happens if you lightly saute them with a little butter and shallots?
25. I once saw a photo of flea playing a musicman with a badass bridge a while ago, i suppose he couldnt get an EBMM one either if you need a bridge and it fits i,d say go for it, they are fantastic bridges, although the musicman ones are nice and sturdy too. i look forward to hearing about the results. -lee
