1. An absolute beauty, your very lucky, i totally love old JV squiers as i have and its great , im really gassing for a precision at the mo and that would be very nive addition if i could afford it . all the best- lee Yeh, that's a nice early example. Easy to see why Fender soon changed the logo's around on later models!
2. AAARRRRRGGGGGG I traded my TD 650 5 months ago otherwise i wouldve took your arm off, The EBS is very special though, have a bump ,bit too skint to buy it, huge bargain!!!! cheers- lee Actually as I am gassing for an EBS TD650 would consider a trade for the 650 or the 350 plus cash my way. Thanks Steve

4. AAWWW COME ON!!!! This is such a bargain, used to have one of these and if it was,nt for the fact it was far to powerful for the gigs im doing, idstill have it, the best 4x10 ive ever used , massive bump for a fantastic cab at a really low price, very big warm and clear sound. BUY IT!!!! lee
5. +1 once you play warwicks for a while you dont notice the thick necks, i have played various warwicks for the last ten years and ive played soul, jazz, latin, pop, blues, country, funk, hard rock, classical, show tunes and ballroom (but no reggae, im sh*t at reggae) and they,ve worked in every situation ive been presented, the early versions have fantastic thin necks, warwickhunt now plays a beautiful red warwick streamer from 90 that he originally owned and i owned for nearly five years, the neck on that bass is the slimmest ive ever played. I also bought new in 98 a streamer lx4 and that had a fantastic thin neck, so if you like thin necks get an old warwick, if you dont mind a bit of meat (precisions are very chunky too!!) get a newer one, they still have a great growl and sound great ,a quality instrument and worthy of all players attention. Anyway each to thier own if you dont like warwicks fine!!! i personally use warwick, fender and musicman basses and am very lucky to have these diffrent sounds at my disposal but at the end of the day its in our hands!!!! thats were the magic is, i just need a nice fender precision and a six string yamaha trb and ill have "ALL BASSES COVERED" no pun intended. keep groovin everone- lee
6. Hi everyone bought this off a fellow basschatter recently, and really messed up, this is the aguilar obp 3 with the push/pull midrange but has five pots vol/blend/treb/mid/bass i got this to fit on my jazz bass thinking i can just get a dual concentric and fit the whole thing into the four pots on my jazz, alas ive been waiting nearly six weeks and my tech still cant source a dual 50k pot and the only place i can get one will prob make it more expensive than buying a new one so ive decided to sack it off and keep the EMG system until i can afford to buy a j retro deluxe which will fit straight in no bother so if anyone has a bass with five pots or doesnt mind drilling more holes you can have this for £60 posted, i also will still have the EMG JV jazz pickups with vol pots and chrome knobs for £40 ill do the whole lot for £95 posted. all the best- lee ps. if anyone has an aguilar obp 1 or 2 ill do a straight swap, or will swap the preamp and pickups for an audere or east preamp
7. "Forget me nots" as played on a p bass by "ready freddie washington" who now plays ken smiths just like crazykiwi cool!!!! Yes you're absolutely right, and I knew that but didn't check my typing before pressing the post button.

10. Slight price reduction only a little, i know everyones skint and cant take on projects, it,ll be a shame if these are lying around, If you own a squire modified fretless these are for you!!!- all the best- lee Hi everyone My jazz is off to the tech tomorrow for new stuff to be fitted, so as of this week the current pickups and circuit will be available, Emg jv jazz pickups are the vintage style with exposed pole pieces designed to replicate the faded sound of a vintage instrument but with no noise, they are very diffrent to the usual EMG pickups as they have alnico 5 magnets ( as opposed to ceramic) and have a lovely warm fat sound with a very prominent midrange, they would actually be a perfect replacement for fretless fender jazz, particularly MIM or the Squire modified fretless jazz as they have a certain tone regardless of instrument i.e they dont rely too much on the sound of wood. Also an EMG BTS bass/treble on seperate pots,(it is set at vol, vol, treble, bass 4 pots) does what it says on the tin, it has two dip switches inside to set the treble frequency there are four to choose from, not sure what they are but info should be available online, comes with all pots and chrome knurled knobs, this system will really pimp up your jazz or any bass with jazz style pickups as i said would be great on fretless. Im after £90 posted for the lot, the pickups are £175 new and the circuit £80 so that sounds about right to me, giz a PM if your interested or need any info. thanks for looking- lee Will get some proper pics up when they are out and i have them, this is what they look like installed, i have a four control layout with a jack on the bottom which i like, i also installed a battery compartment, a dual concentric will be easy t fit and not expensive if you want to keep the three pot arrangemant and the battery fits fine under the control plate(but it is a pain when changing batteries which isnt often with the EMG,S low power draw). hope this answers any queries people have had these are a bargain and will benefit your MIM & CIJ

12. Had a feeling it was you mick. ive dealt with this gentleman an absolute star, and was lucky enough to have a go of his fodera victor wooton, i assume you dont have that one anymore, loving the Richard bona. Sorry, Been grafting away from home this week so wasn't really in a position to check the listing a lot. Smith basses, beautiful things! However the sale was intended to raise dosh for another purchase so thank you for your kind comments and interest. I've decided to hang on to the Fodera
13. HA HA very true! your absolutely right im very lucky But what you h ave is priceless BUMP again for this as it's a lot of bass for the money! Good luck with the sale...
14. +1 I really want this bass, absolutely stunning, and ill bet it sounds as good as it looks, have a tyrekicking bump fom a new dad with no money. man thats soo good- lee Damn you
15. Thanks lads IM going to have another crack tomorrow, following BB,s suggestion, im reluctant to drill into it myself as it seems to be con nected to a component inside, failing that theres a guy near me ive used before, mind you wayne i wouldnt mind the no of the tech you use (and location). cheers again lads, i hope i can sort it. Lee, yes the WT550 is a brilliant amp, but the access to the pre amp valve could have been designed much better in my opinion. I have a Tech in Lancs who has serviced my 550 if you need his number just PM me. Good luck
16. I had a 78 ibanez musician which i got when i was a youngster, i stopped playing it when i got my JV squire, i later sold it out of necessity when i drank my rent ( boozy student), i also miss my 98 warwick streamer lx4 in emerald green, that bass was my main one for ages, lovely neck and a great sound, i sold it to buya 91 streamer stage 1 and i didnt like it as much, so was traded, the green one turned up on ebay a while back from a diffrent person but i recognised evry ding, i didnt have the cash for it shame, im still keeping an eye out i also let go of a yamaha nathan east 5 in aqua a while ago, which was lovely and got absolutely nothing for it!!! dont look back guys and gals - lee
17. Hi evryone, iv;e just got a new valve for my eden wt 550, now my problem is there seems to be about 14 screws holding the top/ sides on, ive managed to getall off except one by the grill ontheleft hand side at the top, now they seem to be connected to something inside, the screw head was already a bit threaded(as i got it second hand) but when i tried to shift it with an electric screwdriver it would not move, it just got worse, now i cant move it at all and cant get inside has anyone else had bother getting into thier eden heads or is there aknack or something, its built like a bloody tank and im a bit worried ill never get in it. id appreciate an tips or advice on the problem, thanks everyone -lee

19. Nice to see you back beedster, welcome- all the best- lee Thanks so much folks, great to be back
20. Ive always got great results with fastfret, use them on my EUB which has flats, worth a try for £6 Hi, I have two P basses each strung with TI Flats. One plays beautifully (I have gigged this one and the strings are older and have a real slippery feel to them), while the other much less so. Specifically the strings on the latter (which are newer and not gigged) feel slightly rough/dry and are hard to finger pick fast. It could simply be I got a duff batch but I am unwilling to shell out another £30-odd to replace them. So is there a good lubricant you would recommend to improve the feel of these strings and hence the playability of the bass?
21. Great stuff thought you,d like the sunbeams, mind you after your description i might try a set of fatbeams, do they have the smooth feel like the sunbeams I've put Sunbeams on the Stingray, and Fatbeams on the Sub4. I'm really loving the Sunbeams Maybe it's my ears but the bass sounds louder. I read DR's blurb about their string's metal content giving better output - maybe they're right? I'm getting the exact range of sound sound I want - very satisfied. The only way to describe the Fatbeams is that they're a stainless steel Sunbeam - all the warmth and lovliness but with a bit more treble.
22. Ive read lots of good things about the nordstrand nj,s, to that end ive just bought some and are currently being fitted to my jazz, ill let you know how i find them, they are a bit cheaper than the SD,S and are built like the old fender pickups with good quality materials etc, Bass direct do them. cheers- lee I've been looking at the 5 Stack and the passive single in SD's "Pickup Sourcebook", it says the stick isn't a direct retrofit but the singlecoil might be, I'll need to check their website for dims. I don't really know what else is out there as far as other brands go, that's kinda what I was hoping to find out about on here. And suggestions on where to startd brushing up?
23. Hi there Ive been using the sunbeams for about a year now, they have a lovely rich tone, and a great smooth feel ,i do think they may be more what your after as they have a smooth treble thats not too zingy, but retains the high end when they die off, the fat beams i hav,nt tried but would like too they are steel while the sunbeams are nickel, i have sunbeams on my sterling and they really balance out the sound (especially as it has a maple neck), i used the hi beams for a long time then started using d,addarios as i have a preference for nickel. Its a shame ive just moved house and gotrid of a couple of old sets, otherwise id have sent them to you to try(after a good boiling) i am thinking of trying the fatbeams on my warwick 5 as it could use a bit more bite, but im very happy with the sunbeams. Let me know what you think of the fatbeams if you get both- all the best- lee I use the Hi Beams on my 5 string Lakland and they're superb on that. I use the 5 string for different music than the Stingray which is for rock/blues, which is why I'm looking for a little less "zing" than the Hi Beams. Have you tried the Sunbeams at all?
24. AAAAWWW MAN!!! Im currently seriously gassing for a nice p bass with flats, this would be perfect for me, unfortunately im skint after having spent a load of dosh giving my jazz a makeover, bump for a great looking bass. all the best- lee
