1.
Lee, I know what you mean and that's what I'm trying to avoid doing. I notice Mark at Bassdirect sells Radial gear, so I'm hoping to pop over this week sometime. How does the HD350 sound with the Accugrooves ?.
Yeah Mark is doing them for about £75 i think, i was very close close to buying a new one, so got lucky this time!!, im being a bit premature with the signature as i wont get the HD350 Till wednesday, i used to run a td650 through them and they complimented each other very nicely, as the EBS is quite a lively sounding head, and the accugrooves have a very smooth treble response (no sizzle with these babies, but a very musical high end which is actually great for slapping, with the right head!!!) ive tried an hd350 before and found the basic sound to be quite similar although the 650 had a warmer low end due the valve preamp. Im hoping to get a bit nearer to my original sound, really didnt get on with the eden wt550 ive been using, so very excited to get another EBS if all goes well!!. Good luck on the A/B hunt, shame your not local or i,d be more than happy to let you borrow the radial, ill take some pics and post them if you like, the website ones are a bit 1 dimensional - lee
 2.
If you've seen my other threads then you now I'm after an A/B switching device to switch between BG and EUB. I want it to be true bypass, quiet and uncloured. http://www.redonionsolutions.co.uk/Gallery.htm These seem to do everything I want, and the price is great but they look a bit like a school science project. Anyone have any experience of their products ?. Are they good and reliable and everything else that I've stipulated ?.
Know what you mean Kevin- i was going to buy one of these, but was able to get get a second hand radial bigshot i/o and the build quality is fantastic, the old saying applies "you buy cheap, you buy twice" i think the radial is what your looking for, as i said i ran a similar thread about two months ago and the red onion was one of the suggestions -lee
 3. Any idea if an EBS hd 350 will fit in this? ive a feeling it wont!! Just done some research and its too small, shame!!!!
 4.
They look great to me, and the price looks excellent I was prepared to pay a lot more than that. http://www.redonionsolutions.co.uk/AB/Selector.htm
Thats exactly what i thought, i was set to order one (in a nice red colour with two volumes) then the radial came my way at a great price, so had to o for it, the red onion looks like your solution though!!- have a great easter kevin - lee
 5.
Keep them both. As CK suggests, use rounds on the TF to get the best out of the JPUP and keep some flats on the '71. That way you'vetwo completely different sounding basses. Otherwise whatever you sell you'll, wish you hadn't. Chris
Totally +1 CK & Beedster are so right, both beautiful basses (and sound great in your hands) but the extra bite of the ebony board and jazz pickup just beg for some roundwounds(or half's ive used them on fretless they sound great) while the lovely woodyness of the 71's rosewood board gives you that uprighty (is that a proper word) tone, id keep both and have a couple of diffrent flavours, i must thank you WOT as you,ve now put the TF fretless on my GAS radar, iwanted a jazz but i think the PJ setup has a bit more oomph especially with flats. Cheers mate your a lucky man to be in such a dilema all the best - lee
 6.
Thanks Lee, that's now on my short list of possibles, that and the Lehle little. These look rather nice too - http://www.loop-master.com/product_info.ph...ib9uvcesrcg6a74 Kevin
Hi Kevin I was askin about these a few months ago before i sold my NS and a fellow basschetter put me on to a company called "RED ONION" that make A/B pedals at about half the price of the radial, they custom make them too, so you can have tuner outs but two volumes if you want in any type of case, they seem really good, and true bypass too. they were about £40 i think, seemed really good but didnt look as sturdy as the radial ( but with pc pics you cant really tell), google red onion and have a look, try and find my old wanted thread, the guy (really sorry cant remember who it was) was kind enough to leave a link to thier website, good hunting mate - lee
 7. Hi Kev Ive just bought one of those radial bigshots, not tried it yet though as ive no amp at the mo!!! its built really well and has a tuner out and mute facility, and a volume control on one channel ( to bring the louder instrument down) and a three position bright switch, its passive, too and quite small, mind you when i had my NS wav4 i used an EBS microbass2 which worked fantastically, a bit more cash though, and maybe more bells and whistles than you need!!! the radial seems great though ill update you soon, they are about £80 i was lucky and got one off old horse murphy , top fella- all the best mate - lee
