1. Strings sometimes do this if they have managed to get a twist in them between nut & bridge when being put on. Try taking it completely off and holding it up by one end to let any twist come out, then re-stringing it while carefully making sure no twist is re-introduced during the installation. You never know, it may work. Also, costs nothing but time. G.
2.
Right, ok, turned my attention away from that one as it sounded too confusing. But, then I found this bass with another neck issue. Neck bowed, but truss rod at max. Truss rod replacement, or just putting a new washer in at the nut?
Looking carefully at the lower picture I get the impression of an 'S' shape going on here. To me, there is almost a back bow at the first 2 or 3 frets nearest the nut, then there seems to be a fall away from approx. the 6th fret before starting back upwards at approx. the 12th-13th fret. I'd leave that one well alone as I suspect you'd never find a suitable action on it. Tightening the truss rod would amplify the 'S' and loosening would probably result in a fairly pronounced bow. G.
3. If this is already sold, please edit the title to reflect this, as posted in forum rules. G.
4. When I got my TRB it had a Delano Sonar something-or-other in it. Lovely sound/tone but very low output - less than unity. It was replaced with the original TRB pre as I wanted to keep the bass original. G.
5. ....and the fact he does a damn good job of playing 'Grey Worm' on Game of Thrones..... G.
6. If I came into a pub with a guitarist that loud, I'd leave. Sorry, but what pleasure can be taken from being deafened? G.
Dunno Geoff - the official site http://www.straus.co.kr/bass.htm calls this model the 504FM / 504QM / 504T / 504 AS depending on finish / pickups / controls Strange that they didnt name them the 404 , and named the 5 strings as 505 but they dont list any 5 strings on their site Go figure
Ta. Looks like you've got a proper bass there, Mate. G.

14. I have a smaller hand and started with a Jazz bass as I thought the narrowness might suit - it did, but the main prob is in movement up and down the neck, not so much across. I now find I use my pinky finger a lot more than most other bass players. This is how I achieve my span. I currently play 5 sting basses with around the full 19mm spacing at the bridge (TRB 5 snd BBGN 5) so working across the strings is no problem. Practice and use all fingers. G.

16. When I used valve amps, I was quite partial to the 5751 valves which gives roughly 70% of the gain of the 12AX7. Check them out. G.

18. At the moment I don't know, but a 5mm screw does't fit - maybe a 5.5mm? I'm looking, really, for a black one with no tip. Just shot an enquiery to Staytrem, who seem to do one. Bit expensive though. G.
