  1. Sad to hear this one of my favourite bands. Rest in peace Ray.
  2. If it's of any help and you could get a Basschat relay going I would be happy to do a leg from Lichfield'ish (so close to the M42, M6 and A38) to the Holmes Chapel area around the 14th April.
  3. My short scale flats are around 18 months old and replaced 50 - 110 nickel roundwounds with a smooth winding so slightly higher tension than standard without requiring any mod to the neck relief. I did fit some medium scale 77's which were higher tension and came in the older cardboard packaging but actual age unknown but could have been 5+ years. I echo the comments regarding musicality and balance.
  4. Rotosound 77's are pretty stiff flats but the gauge can/will depend on the scale length.
  5. Fantastic looking bass there, ACG's are great basses.
  6. You may want to post this in the Wanted section of the classifieds.
  7. I am not suprised the results were poor if your 'drummer' kept hitting the pots and pans with one of those (the tape recorder)😁
  8. Good point Chienmortbb, and I bet doubling the price of a can of soup more than doubles the profit made.
  9. I made a similar comment to my wife about the price of Heinz soup then went into the next isle and did the same when I saw the price of their tomato ketchup. Fortunately I am happy eating supermarket own brands which were half the price and we are talking Waitrose here. Is it just the major brands which are imposing such high price hikes (value brands do not to seem to have gone up quite so much)?
  10. Is'nt that the gap where the smiley face pops through😊
  11. Not strictly a band but 4 of us recorded two tracks in the keyboard players front room. Cardboard drums, piano, and bass on a 6 string acoustic with the added use of a childs 3 wheel cycle. I think the tape recorder was a stereo model by ITT and as it was in the days of bands like Faust, Can and Gong the tracks were aptly named Squeeky Trike Parts 1 & 2.
  12. Glad your finding alternatives for the back situation Loz you will benefit from it no end.
  13. Really excellent acidbass well done to you and the band.
  14. Old Horse Murphy has a pair of AKG K72's for sale in the 'Accessories' section of the classifieds.
  15. I would have expected free delivery for the price they are asking🤭
  16. Yep agree, in front of the cab for me.
  17. Interesting project for little money👍
  18. I find my AKG52's more than adequate for practice and peple do use them for mixing and recording. Not an expensive option either.
  19. I use the short scale version and would agrre that they have around the same tension as 45-105/50-110.
  20. Apologies, double posted🙃
  21. I use the same type of strap and find it really comfortable. Mine is a custom version as I wanted a shorter length.
  22. Surely that's not allowed anymore with all these tele adverts insisting you 'keep away from children', which I do rigorously🤭
  23. As her fingers are a little small it's probably a way of damping the E and A strings.
  24. That looks super luxurious binky-bass. Our studios charge the following: Rehearsal - £15.50 per hour Full day recording - £350 Half day recording - £200 Per hour recording - £40 The recording price includes an engineer for 10hrs and 5 hrs respectively. I hop this helps.
