1. Hey guys. Shes a lovely example and a damn fine looker. Very light for a MM Fantastic neck and its near mint. With OHSC. Possible trades i might be looking for are fretless basses, 5 strings, Musicmans with Rosewood boards. P's or J's. The best i could ask for is a 5 string Musicman pickup equipped bass, Such as a Sandberg P5, or Fender Deluxe P5. Part ex's considered would be Sting or 51' reissue P bass (sunburst only), G+L L1000 including some money. I really am not sure if i want to let go of this bass as its a lovely player. If something comes along that i would die for i will do a deal Anyway. Let me know! Pms please:) I would prefer not to send this bass via post as i prefer face to face deals. Postage may be arranged as a very last resort. If any trades are performed it will be face to face deals. Possible cash offers entertained. Rob.
2. Hubba hubba! I think i know what i might go for my next high end! Whats the average 2nd hand price on these things?
3.
Do they do it by signing up to forums pretending to be a happy punter and then bigging up their own products? Pluck
Thats the first thing that came to my mind, Just bigging up a product for no real reason. Westleys are just like any other instruments coming out of china, mass produced and depending on who is the buyer Will put on the custom logo needed.
4. bah if only you would trade my USA ironbird for this In Bristol too!
5. Unfortunately i have an agreement where i have to give 6 months notice. Then again we are one of the biggest bands on the admittedly small goth scene. There would have to press releases and time to get the right image with the new bass player. Not to mention clothing and interviews.
6. ahh from the original post i assumed it had sold. Pmed.

12.
Do you remember all the hassle you had shifting it? You wouldn't like it now anyway, it has black tape-wounds on
Heresy! Dont matter, Optima dont make gold strings light enough for me!
13.
Isn't this the old 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' story really and I think we've all done it at some time or other? Good to be able to get some perspective though and realise what you had and are capable of... Does this mean more gear changes in the pipeline then Rob??
Well, Yes, I need to sell my BCR's Get me a Good Old P or maybe a P with a MM pup in the P position. I think i'll have to ebay them as i dont see them selling on BC! I dont think i'll get rid of any of my MM's I love them just a tad too much! Rob.
14. Hey guys. Going over some old recordings of my first band. I came across this live recording. Using a Modern Tokai P bass. All stock.Fingers, Maple board. Through a Cheap ashdown half stack. Live recording through the desk. Wow what a tone! I was complaining a hell of alot at that gig, Couldnt hear myself. Also my ears were very untrained and felt the bass needed to be more up in the mix (Now looking back i was so so wrong!) Seriously this is probably the best bass tone i have had on a recording. http://freedownloads.last.fm/download/4314...nion%2BJack.mp3 Since when has my playing gotten so unoriginal? When those tracks we're recorded i had been playing for about a year. I felt my playing although back then quite scrappy, I felt it was reasonably original. Now 3 years later I would never be able to come with lines like i did back then. I know the bugger who now has this bass and i want it back! Finn ;-) Hopefully my musicmans will now be able to do me justice recording wise. However it could be because back then i used the heaviest set of strings going. Now i use the lightest going. Maybe thats why my tone has suffered so much. I dont know. So has anyone else felt that over the years their playing has toned down or sound has gotten worse? Is the sound in the recording what would be considered a good P bass tone or am i talking out of my rear end? Cheers! Rob.

My Band

Hmm, I reckon the vocals need to be far more pronounced in the mix, They are really buried and considering he has a real high voice very early Dream theater/Rush like, I would want to hear it! The Guitar solo sounds too empty and scrappy. Needs some drums or bass or something. One of the lead guitars is far too high in the mix. Otherwise its great.
16. Oh, You big bully you! Dont suppose you want a BCR warlock 5 ? I'll come to you!
17. The first MIK Fender came across was one of those fotoflame rear access jazzers with the burst finishes. I guess The USA, Mexican and jap workers dont know how to do Laminated topped basses!
18. Heya! Huge hands came by to buy my Squier 5 String, Very nice guy, Decent player. Knows his 5 strings and loved my Musicman collection. Great guy, Money changed hands and happy with the transaction. Cheers! Rob.
19. Ahh i love Wilhelm Scream. Fantastic album. I have 3 musicmans and cant get anywhere near that tone!
20.
lol you should try one with a rosewood board. anyway really nice all 3 of them
Hey when i bought the last two i realised no rosewood and was a tad miffed. I really wouldnt mind a rosewood one!
21.
Nice set up there, I'll be thinking along the lines of a 5er at some point, or even a Bongo 6.
I wouldnt mind trying out a Bongo 6, however my constant flakeness over 6 string and whether i can play them effectively has put me off buying one sight unseen. I played the SR5 and the Sterling 4 last night. the SR5 Performed great, I reckon i need to raise the sterlings action a tad and run in the strings a bit more as they were really zingy! However it played really well and my band love the purple colour! Far easier on the back as well! Rob.
