Very solid bass. Was born on 6 April 2001 and was originally sold to Guitar Center in Rockville, MD. The Sister i got in today, Its in a lovely dark trans Purple, Born on 20 February 2001 and originally sold to Guitar Center in Carle Place, NY. Has the potential to become the best out of the bunch, I am really loving the slim neck! Lighter then the other 2. This is the Brother, SR4 with Piezo pickup finished off in a lovely Black sparkle finish and matching headstock, Probably the nicest player out of the 3, The piezo is awesome to play around with! Born on June 30 2000, and was shipped to Strings & Things Ltd. Anyway, On to a plea. to keep the family of three together, I need to sell either my warlock or squier, both 5 strings in the next 2 weeks. Otherwise one will have to be sold on Otherwise the bill for the TV license will kill me! So help a brother out, If your looking for a nice 5 string then hit me up with a pm! Cheers! rob.
anyone seen these? they any good?? supposed to be 'thebest in the country', we have them playing at our bar next wednesday, havnt sold too many tickets as of yet, just wondering what to expect
Hells bells are just one big revolving door of musicians. The Leader of the band is unbearable and very unlikeable. He has the ego the size of a skyscraper and shows. A friend of mine is the bass player and he just cant stand it and would leave if it wasent for the money. Rob.

Hey guys. Considering my Warlock appears to not be selling, and i really want to keep my musicmans. I need to get rid of this bass. Its a gorgeous Sparkle green finish. Wide string spacing. Comes with Seymour duncan SJB5 pups. Kill switch. Good player for the money! Comes with a gigbag. Has a Fender decal. Made in Indonesia. I seriously want to keep this bass as my backup 5 string, But it is more likely more to sell then my warlock. Has had an extensive setup and intonating since i took possession of it. £120 Shipped. Or 100 Picked up from bristol. FIRM. Rob.
he did in the 80's, on his Wal's, but now he uses 45-105.
Ok, my bad. It sounds like he uses Light gauge strings on the jazz. I am guessing they are changed after every gig to get such a snappy tone.
Just out of interest, why light guages? I've only used medium snd heavy (yep, in my entire bass playing career, two sets of strings). What does it give you? I'd have thought it'd be easier to bend the strings by accident.
I find it gives a much growlier tone, I can get over the fretboard far faster. Its easier on the fingers, and slap seems far far easier. I find it useful for more technical styles, and for someone who does not downtune. As a term of reference, Geddy Lee Uses Roto's 30-90 on his Jazz, And he can really pull those strings! They are pretty terrible for dub though!

Hey guys. As many of you know, I am a huge pansy when it comes to string gauges, and go for the lightest possible My gauge of choice for the past few years has been. 110-90-70-50-30. Stainless Steel, Either overwater or rotos. Well i found some string sets in reverb yesterday which may be taking top spot! RS 66LA So. 30-45-65-85 Awesome! My poor hands have less to worry about. I slapped some on my new to me stingray yesterday and the bass sings! The A string might be a tad too skinny for slapping, but i will work it a bit and i am sure it wont be that bad. Very bright sound. Will cut through quite a bit i imagine. Its a bit better string balance then a 30-90 set especially on a stingray with the quiet G syndrome. Just thought i would share! Rob.

Gaf Dropped off his lovely Stingray to Bristol just today, Hands down the best bass i have ever owned. Top bloke and wish i had more time to speak to him! (We were both in a rush!) Cheers! Rob.

Good: I use equipment suited to the music played. Pick up material really quickly with no notation. Can jam pretty well I usually play decent equipment. Bass taste getting better! Great showmanship. Bad: I dont play suitable basslines to restrained bass styled music. Not very solid without a drummer. Cant write music. No decent slap technique. I dont practice. Never have a correctly working amp. Come to gigs and practices with completely different basses. Have owned over 30 basses in a 4-5 year period. Stubburn as a mule. Picky but not picky at genres of music. Cant stand other peoples egos as i have a huge one of my own. Get bored really easily. Have only ever been not chucked out of a band once. Impatient for gigs to get started. Far too tall and Gangly to be on a high stage. Bad reputation in Bristol for overplaying. Dont know any theory.

Thanks for all the info! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=021 Heres the bass in question, is this the newer or older bridge? I would still like more information on useful tones. What sort of magnetic pickup/bass does it sound like most? For all the effort you have to put into the bass would you say it was rewarding enough, or would you recommend a more traditional magnetic pup bass? Such as a Gary willis Ibanez? Cheers.

Hey guys. I am currently looking at a 5 string lightwave fretless on the bay. Has anyone owned a lightwave equipped bass? I find the concept amazing, But how does it sound? Is the quality of the actual basses any good? I want everything from a double bass sound to jazo esq nasality. Will these basses do justice? Cheers in advance! Rob.
Rob, I hope you don't get a shock. The 2004 Sterling I bought to replace my 1990 Ray weighed about 1/2 lb more Having said that it did sound pretty good.
Maybe your Stingray was a particularly light example? Anyways i am used to 5 string basses which are usually heavier anyway.. Heres hoping

And The need for a funky 4 string. Any more ladies musicman bass pictures and opinions will be appreciated! Rob. PS. Pickguard idea, Transparant
