1. I was after a BB1025X but now I'm thinking I'll keep my BB415 and perhaps get the 5 string version of this TRB instead! Didn't realise these were a new range.
2. Closed cell foam from ebay, cut with a stanley knife and holes made by hand with a large drillbit:
3. Perhaps at the factory? The MIJ PB70 basses have the late 70s logo like that.
4. Oh, and if you get it right make sure you post your own YouTube video! That girl's video was spotted by Jamiroquai and they flew her out to meet the band and play with them live on stage during their tour. Also Stuart Zender recently gave her one of his Warwick signature basses for free!
5. I decided to tackle the same song while back, took me a few days to nail it! I searched all over the web site the best way to play bouncing disco octaves but in the end came up with my own way. Easiest method at first was the low note with the thumb, followed by middle, index. If we number the fingers starting with the thumb at 0, it goes: 0 2-1, 0 2-1... However you don't get a good attack from the thumb stroke. It looks like that girl plays it with two fingers only, which involves a lot off string skipping. Either: 1 1-2, 1 1-2... Or: 1 2-1, 1 2-1... I play it this way, which is apparently uncommon yet feels most natural to me since all the fingers roll off each other: 1 3-2, 1 3-2 And the variation: 1 3-2, 1 3, 1 3-2, 1 3...
6. The VT usually suffers from the exact opposite problem, sound like something is up.
7. I can attest to the T40 sounding incredible through this amp!
8. Doh! Just sent you a pm! Will have to get myself to Bass Direct to try one out.
9. You can make the expression control the pitch, see page 49 here for the options: http://www.zoom.co.jp/download/E_B3.pdf
10.
11. When you say the pots were too hot, do you mean bright? I think these have 500k pots as standard, contributing to these sounding a bit brighter than your average Fender with 250k pots.
12. Stonking basses, I've been thinking of picking up the black/rosewood version myself!
13. For the price I don't think you can go far wrong. It's only a lump of metal after all! 17mm spacing on that particular cheap one though - yours is probably 18/19mm stock.
14. If the force was the same on each string and the neck thinner on one side than the other, then it should twist slightly unless the neck was strengthened especially to compensate for it (e.g. by moving the truss rod slightly towards the thinner end, or using a dual truss rod). But perhaps it's just by such a small amount it's inperceptible to the naked eye.
15. I can't help thinking that the neck would twist slightly under string tension with an asymmetric design?
16. Was about to ask if you'd be interested in splitting I'd like to try the phaser - but it's not on there!
17. Yamaha BB2025X. Still.
18. I've seen a few chancers list T40s for really high prices recently but doubt any of them sold for such high amounts. Around £350 seems to be the going rate.
19.
Looks nice be interested in how it plays. Shame it's not 5 string.
There is a 5-string Squier VM Jag though!
20. I've tried a few including a Fender Original 62 and Duncan SPB-1 in my US Standard P and ended up back with the stock one! Sounds a bit brighter and louder than the others did.
21. Very similar to the Phat Phuk (dirty germanium boost), but with a gain and tone control is the Cream Pie I happen to be looking to offload...
22. New option out recently also: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/TC_Flashback_x4.html
23. Now in stock at Bass Direct! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Mark_Bass_Multiamp.html
24. I cut one of mine, used a Stanley blade to lop it off right at the root, no band aid necessary.
