Saw Simple Minds plus Stranglers on Friday night. Both really good. JJs bass sound was epic. Then The Jack Tars last night at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds (ace venue). They're a collaboration with Mike Peters of The Alarm, Slim Jim Phantom from Straycats, Chris Cheney of The Living End plus Captain Sensible on bass. Was a great night. They covered songs by all their bands and new songs too. Was proper rock n roll and they looked to be having a great time. If you get chance, go see em. Andy

Played at The Black Bull in Horsforth (Leeds) on Sat night. It was rotten weather and, coupled with the atrocity of Friday, an empty pub at 9.30 seemed sort of expected. HOWEVER, in the next 15 mins, it filled up and ended up being a fab night. We are always amazed that people come back time and time again. Thank goodness for that or it would have been a horror. Great bar staff and door staff and an easy pack in and out. Was a good night. Topped off with a drunken woman falling over the front line as we were packing down and jumping up to accuse the drummer of pulling her over. He was a good 4 feet away at the time. Ha ha doofus

Two rack tuners, a Stomp one, two Korg plug ins and a Peterson Strobe Clip. Too many!

I'm going to the Leeds gig. Heard a collaboration of the two bands on Grip the other day. Sounds great.

I use to have the Ampeg rig. Was the best bass sound I ever had - trouser flappingly loud and acres of headroom. Loved it even though was only doing the pub circuit. BUT - was huge. Wouldn't fit in my car so had to always keep it in storage then in band van. I could barely move it myself. Eventually, after it had lived in my dining room for a few weeks, my missis insisted I shift it. Now on Orange Bass Terror and SP212 - sound ace, tiny, lives in the boot of my car. Happy wife! I agreed to dep for some pals tonight as my band have a night off. Jeez. 33 songs learned. Bloody hard work. Some I'd never even heard hefore. They're great guys and we have jammed lots of times but this is a daunting one. Will be glad when it's over! Wish me luck kids! Andy

Yep I'm the main singer. Three of us can sing. One guitarist sings lead on about a third of the set, I do the rest. Can manage most songs. Struggled with a couple and so those never made the set. This charming man caused me problems playing and singing together. Can do both separately. Soz Moz
