1.
Small town in Northern Scotland visited by Dean Martin? That's a Moray
EEL never sell it..........I'll get my coat....
2.
We always just tell them, "We'll do it at the end". It keeps them there all night and we then just apologise and say the Landlord says we have to finish.
I like that one. Shall use it from now on in
3. We also got asked for Warpigs by Sabbath by an old boy at a gig. Please grandad !
4. My band play typical indie/punk/guitar anthemic band covers. 2 guitars, bass and drums. At gigs we often get people asking if we can play X, Y or Z usually similar genres. At last nights gig however, a girl comes up and asks....could you play Never too much by Luther Vandross!!! Now that's a great song but given Luther had one of the best ever soul voices, and the arrangement etc, that was never happening. What the weirdest request you've had?
5. Similar to Spike. 39 this year so far. Have had to almost close the diary. Still got a few regular gigs to book in and wanna stay below 50. Have probably booked too many weddings and parties to be honest. Need to keep space for the pub gigs. I always pass gigs on though if we can't do em so my other muso mates pick em up.
6. Love these threads. The quality of build is amazing. Bravo sir. I really like this one despite my preference for traditional shapes. This really appeals. Keep the good work Andy.
7. Me. I know. Shorts AND Elvis specs. To be honest. I had just got back from Graceland and it was meant to be a joke. Honest guys.

9. I bought one of these from this forum a while ago. Loved it but then some scrote stole it. Luckily I have a second OTB and now want another case. Anyone know a U.K. Based company that supplies em? Thanks. Andy
10.
Who did the paint job & ballpark price? Pearl plate for my preference
Hiya - a pal of my local Leeds based Luthier (Ben) called Chris. He stripped the old finish, prepped the body and painted for a princely £170. Took him ages though - 3 months, however, he apparently had loads of issues with the state of the body under the original paint (which was an old refinish anyway) and I was in no hurry. He even put it all back together and set it up for me before returning the painted body. I think that's great value. Andy
11.
I've got a spare mirror and white tort GL scratchplates if you're interested...
Thx Cosmo but already have some spares. Likely gonna stick with the Torty although White looks lovely
12. Now I like it but the luthier was suggesting a black or white one.....will see Thanks though
13. It's taken a while but finally got my Fender Geddy Lee Jazz back after painting. I bought this a few years ago from a fellow Basschatter. It had a refin in white however, the paint reacted with my guitar stand and went many so I decided to have it repainted. After much deliberation (with some help from this forum) I opted for a dark green. This is how it looks. I am very, very pleased. Just what I need as a pick me up after having loads of gear stolen last week. Waddy a think?
14. Top guy and bassist - bought me a pint after an Alarm gig earlier this year
15. Thx all. Probs got numbers. Gonna drive round the Crack Converters tomorrow for a look. Been on their website to no avail
16.
I've just tweeted this thread as Basschat. I'll also Facebook it now. Good luck, hope you recover it all.
Thx bluejay - appreciate it
17. Thx guys - have added a pic of the amp too now.

19. I have a Harvest single one and it is pretty heavy (although fantastic) A double must weigh a ton, especially when loaded. I have a Mono Double too which is the dogs doc dahs. Think that would be my preference.
20. I'm with Neepheid. Love em. Started out with an RD Artist which I regret selling. Then bought an old Antoria LP copy - loved the look and sounds and plays great. Then 3 more LPs, plus my fave, an LP Triumph in white. Also had a TBird which I really didn't get on with (just too blooming long, I am a short ass) so swapped for an old EB3. The Rivoli is lovely too. Also have several other basses but none as cool as the Triumph in my opinion. Each to his own and all that....
21. My first ever EVER gig was supporting Dr Feelgood in Leeds. About 600 people there. All a bit downhill since then but in my current band, we typically do pub gigs and parties with the odd corporate up to a couple of hundred with the notable exception of a local festival we headline which attracts well over a thousand across the day. Happy days. BUT still remember playing in Pontefract where the crowd dwindled to just two people. They left and we played the remainder of that song to no one. I asked the bar man if he wanted us to carry on, he said nah - push off if you like on full pay!! Yee har
