1. Thank you Kumimajava, a really kind offer however, I am probably not going to pursue it. I personally have no plans to travel to Japan and have no friends likely to be be either. I will get one at some point. Really appreciate the help offer though. Andy
2. Thanks Kumimajava. I guess I will keep on looking in Europe. Andy
3. I set one up recently with Parcelforce. Was a Jack Casady, in a hardcore, in a box. The seller dropped it at the depot, I collected from my local one - cost was £10.25!!!worked perfectly
4. Domo arigato (or should I say ευχαριστώ)
5. Using my Google Translate, it looks like it says No International shipping. Any Japanese speakers confirm that?
6. I want it for the neck. Been after one for years. Andy
7. Bought Mick's Jack Casady bass. We spoke a few times. Easy, hassle free transaction. A true gentleman. Well recommended. Buy and trade with confidence. Andy Bassmonkey
8. Is there someone on here that makes pick guards to order? I seem to remember there is?
9. Just bought a groovy orange pick guard from Stu. Top fella. Andy
10. As a serial gasser - Have now got 3 working gig bags so time to let a couple go. These two are designed to hold all your bass accessories. Mono Producer in grey - all straps, fasteners, velcro, zips and catches work, in good nick. Has a couple of marks inside - like rust spots - not big but just so you know. It has 4 big external pockets, partitioned interior with dividers. Carries my spare leads, wirelesses, batteries, guitar stand and loads more - you can get tons in it. These are hard to get now and go at up to £125 if you can find them. Mine came from Italy. £80 delivered mainland UK Taylor Musicians bag - the same purpose as the Mono but different style. Again, loads of pockets, partitions, integrated straps to carry on your back or top handle. Can't get these anymore. In great condition, all straps, fasteners, velcro, zips and catches work. Mine came from USA - £50 delivered mainland UK. Any questions - please ask. Andy
11. This is my Antoria LP. Looks very similar, I kept the colour, had the gold fittings recoated, added new pickups and bridge etc - I love it.

13. I like this one. It's been for sale for ever. Tempted? Hmmmmmm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-Gibson-Les-Paul-Switch-Cavity-Cover-Plate-BLACK-For-Les-Paul-Custom-Bass-/302352020167?hash=item466595b2c7:g:VxwAAOSwDk5TwNdd
14. Saw them again last night at Leeds Arena. 90 mins of sing along. A great crowd, the band nailed it, Ian Brown CAN sing, Mani looked terrified as usual but was rocking a couple of different Jazz basses through his Mesa Boogie rig. Security was understandably tight but we only queued for around 15 mins on our way in. A fab night and they're doing it again tonight! Had i not being going to see The Dead Kennedy's, I'd be back for more.
15.
Rancid's bassist is stupidly good, and is fairly prominent in the mix. Check out their "...And Out Come The Wolves" album.
This exactly - Matt Freeman is awesome
16. Leftyhook. I was at the Brudenell gig on Friday. Was a great show. The band sound huge. Couldn't fault any of it. Especially enjoyed Blackstar. Ed and the band do a great job. Bowie fans are often proper anoraks, know every word, every nuance of every song and are hard to please but I've yet to meet one who didn't really rate UB. Another stand out moment was the guitar solo in Moorage Daydream, your man nailed it. Not lots of room for 8 of you on that stage though! See ya next time you're in Leeds. Andy
17. Same day as this. My preference by a mile. No slight on the fab 4 - just completely passed me by.
18. Epilogue........had a call from the police today. They interviewed the suspect (that being the one who sold the gear to Cash Converters) Guess what?,,,,he claimed, as expected, he bought the stuff from a Car Boot Sale. No way to prove otherwise so that's the end of their investigation. Now I completely appreciate it's not the crime of the century, I know there are way more important things for them to be spending time and resources on but despite being amazed and overjoyed having miraculously recovered most of my stolen kit, I can't help but feel a bit aggrieved that the thief got away scot free and there is clearly not a single deterrent to stop anyone doing this. Genuinely not meant as a slur on he police, I have been super impressed with them, nor an expectation that this should have gone further, simply a grim realisation that scrotes steal, cheat etc with little chance of penalty while most of us work hard and wouldn't dream of doing likewise. Still hope something dreadful happens to the thieving scum though.
19. Gear returned to me. Result. Had a short interview. Signed for it and out in 30 mins. The police explained there's little chance of charges being brought but will interview the suspect. Unless they admit the theft, it'll be closed down. It lo Is like it's been in a garage. Have cleaned everything and the amp still works. I am very happy. I have asked for a severe penalty should the scrote admit to the theft.
20. Just had a call from the cops. Going to see em tomorrow PM hopefully identify and collect my gear. I also emailed them pics of the rest of the stolen items. Keep your fingers crossed.
21.
I take it they were stolen from a vehicle?
Yes.....and I know!
22.
Sounds good. Good luck The original Police Incident report from the reporting of the theft should go a long way - otherwise it would be an amazing coincidence to have reported the gear stolen some days/weeks/months back and now finding stuff meeting the same description in a local CC shop. The OP must have reported it for the original insurance claim, even though they didn't pay out.
Exactly this. The original police report and subsequent insurance claim gave full details of the stolen items. There is no doubt these are mine.
