1.
When I mounted mine, I bought a generic rack shelf like this one, but a 1U version: I sat the receiver on top of it, and used a cunning combination of cable ties and electrical tape through the vent holes to hold it in place. It's sat happily in the top of my rack for 3 years and never once thought about coming loose. It also gives you a handy place to anchor cable ties etc to keep the back of your rack tidy, or a space to stick a DI box or other gadgets that take your fancy. Mike
Cheers both. Great advice. Have bought the Sennheiser mounting kit (Amazon and had some vouchers too so cheap and cheerful) Hopefully will do the trick. Gotta stop buying gear now though or my wife will kill me !! A
2.
Hi Andy We don't do a dedicated mount for freeport as it's a 'sit on' only unit. I believe there are rack mounts available from other places such as Adam Hall, CPC, Maplins....
Thanks for the speedy response. Do you know if the mounting kits that are available fit the FreePort by any chance? I just wanna rack with my tuner and the necessary power sources and leads. Nice and neat eh? Cheers Andy
3. Help, I wanna mount my FreePort receiver. It is the EM1-M model so is like a sealed box with no pre-drilled connection points however has 4 nuts built in to the bottom. I am assuming that this is to allow me to screw through and mount from below. Problem is the required Bolts are a peculier size, can't seem to get em. I have tried Sennheiser to no avail. Anyone else done this? OR ideas for where I might get suitable bolts? (I actually live really close to a place called "Bolt and Nut Supplies" guess what? "Sorry mate, non standard sizes, can't help ya!!!!" - DOH) Andy
4. Sorry guys but this may not be sold. My fault completely, realised it was bigger than I needed after running my mouth off saying I would have it. So unless Kev has found another buyer, may still be available. Apologies all round. Andy

12. I managed to get the DVD directly from Roland. Is great, I have learned lots from it however. Is still freakin confusing around how the drums get recorded!! Back to the drawing board I guess Is a great bit of kit though. AND Roland have just sent me a free 1GB Compact Flash Card after I complained that I couldnt get one. Great service Andy

15. I use an Ampeg B100 R combo. Is absolutely fantastic. Goes in the car, relatively lightweight, sounds perfect and looks cool. Have even played live with it via DI in to PA Andy
16. I love this forum, always helpful people so thanks a lot. Observer, will be in touch. Thanks all especially Steve Soar for offer of old plate. Andy
17. Hiya, I bought a 70s Jap SG copy in need of lots of TLC as a "project". So far has sat untouched and waiting for me to start sorting it. Anyway, I bought a blank sheet of lovely Pickguard perspex to make the pickguard and backplate. Has anyone ever tried to cut and shape these? what is the best method? Any advice would be welcome. Am still confused as to why I thought I would have the expertise to do this, I sit behind a PC for a living for god's sake! Cheers A
18. Cheers, looks like a proper bargain. Sadly not what I am after. Thanks though and good luck Andy
19.
bumped and now for less of your £££££££££££'s
Stick a pic up will ya Ken? Cheers Andy
20.
So the cover arrived 9 days later. I was utterly ecstatic - the build quality is superb, but it was a couple of inches too short. I emailed Shaun and told him my problem, and he showed concern and took all the relevant information. I haven't heard from him since then - it's been nearly two weeks, and I've sent him a few emails, but he hasn't replied. I don't know whether he's in the process of making a replacement, or if he's ignoring me and hoping that I go away. UPDATE (Wed): I've had a reply. The replacement has been made, but he was waiting for me to send the old one back. FINAL UPDATE (Fri): I sent the old one back on Wednesday, and the replacement arrived this morning. No problems with it. I'm slightly annoyed that the whole thing ended up costing an extra £5.72 (for posting the incorrect one back) but I suppose this is probably a rare occurrence. S.P.
This isn't a one off unfortunately. I also ordered one, Sean was a top guy. It came, and was wrong size. He agreed to pick it up and supply another one and said in lieu of the bad service, would give me a better model. I was delighted. Pick up happened within a week or so but then took emails, phone calls and pestering from me to get the replacement. Only arrived after I asked for my money back!! guess what, was the freaking standard model I had originally ordered. Took about a month to arrive and I wouldn't use them again as their service appears to be a lottery which is a shame because I genuinely liked the guy.
21. For what it is worth, I also had one and these are freakin awesome basses. I sold mine 3 years ago for a fair bit more than this is being sold at so this is a great buy. They play like a dream and have a really wide range of sounds due to the Moog electrics. They also look cool as but are bloomin' heavy. Good luck with the sale, someone is gonna get a bargain Andy
22. Hi all, I have a horrible buzz on my Ricky. Started a few months back and buzzes when near my amps, if i move it away it reduces and increases when moved near again. Took it in to a local shop where they potted the pickups and screened the cavities - no change. Then they had a quick tinker with the jack solder joints - this appeared to slightly reduce it but not a great deal. They are now scratching their heads and I dint know what to try next. Is not the amp either, doesnt happen with any other of my guitars. Any ideas? Also, I wanna buy or make a thumb rest for it similar to P Bass. I want to screw through the existing pickguard scew holes so the rest is longer than a Fender one. Anyone know where I might get one OR even just a piee of perspex that I could make one from? Cheers Andy
23.
andy does want to! unfortunately have to part with two svt 410 he first!!
He he he, I have got 2 of them too!! which is only reason I am selling as I can get them in me car now whereas can't with the 8x10. Curse you small cars!
