1. I have managed to find a local body painter and have opted to let them both strip and paint the body. Its a Geddy signature that has been modded so has all black hardware and a black bound neck with black inlays and a red torty pick guard. I want the body to be green but can't decide on the shade. Which would yo choose? Undecided Andy
2.
How do you feel about Cowboy Boots ?
There are a few cowboy stores in Nashville. Worth a visit and, in that location, they actually look OK. DO NOT BE TEMPTED - not in the UK! hahaha
3. I went to Nashville and Memphis in May. Ace. Nashville has the strip which is full of bars and Honky Tonks. Almost every bar has one or more bands on at any time. Different floors, same bar, different bands. Just enjoy the ambience. It's amazing. TAKE ID they ask everywhere irrespective of age. Im 53! Memphis and Beale St are as you'd expect, same tons of bars and bands in each. We saw an amazing Jerry Lee Lewis tribute in place and the standard of musicianship is off the scale. Many bars serve in plastic glasses then punters can walk up and down as people tend to hang on the street (which is pedestrianised) and stop outside any bar. BB Kings club was great too BUT def worth checking Graceland, Sun Records, Stax Museum and the Gibson Factory tours. It is scruffy and a bit seedy but felt safe enough. The food was awesome too. Barbecue everywhere! You will not be disappointed. Enjoy.
4. Sold a Peterson Stroboclip to Lawrence. Easy peasy transaction, comms were good. Couldn't have gone better, trade with confidence.
5. 4 July, Victor Wooten is playing at Leeds best venue Brudenell Social Club. Any other members planning to be there? Andy

8. Thank you Mantons. Very helpful. Andy
9. I have a Geddy Lee Jazz which I bought from a fellow BC member some time ago. It had been painted white. A decent enough job however, the paint reacted with the foam on my guitar stand and it's gone a bit manky. Seriously thinking might get it repainted. So my questions are, is it something worth tackling myself? I'm not completely cack handed OR would you only get a pro to do it? Clearly I've never done one before so don't wanna waste time and money. Finally, any recommended painters preferably in Yorkshire and what should I expect to pay if I give it as it is unstripped. Any advice welcome. Thx. Andy
10. Selling my Strobo Clip. A couple of years old. Only ever used at home and kept in it's tin so in excellent condition. Here's what they say: "The Peterson StroboClip™ (SC-1) has the same tenth-of-a-cent accuracy as its big brother models. This versatile tuner comes complete with a bright high-definition screen, 28 Sweetened™ tunings, alternate temperaments for a vast array of string and wind instruments, a stainless steel chassis to withstand life on the road, a carbon-fiber hinge/stem/clip construction to ensure you a worry-free performance, a metal carrying case for safekeeping, and soft rubber-lined jaws to protect your instrument's finish while offering a firm grip for maximum signal tracking. Also, our exclusive “Sustain Mode” feature allows longer note-on-screen viewing time when tuning short-voiced instruments. The note is captured and displayed on screen until the next time a note is sounded—perfect for instruments like banjo and other similar instruments that have percussive, brief, and transient sound signatures!" 11.
Also at the Brudenell - Nicholas Allbrook, next Tuesday. Just trying to work out why Tav Falco is on at the same time?!
Three rooms. I've thought the same in the past. Great venue though
12. Ultimate Bowie tribute tomorrow night at Brudenell Social Club. Should be good.
13. Really enjoyed that. Sounded and looked great. I actually loved the guitar sound ob Fashion. As good as the original IMO. Am going to see Ultimate Bowie at Leeds Brudenell Club tomorrow night - that should be good then rehearsing my own new Bowie tribute, The Bewlay Brothers for the first time on Tuesday. Excited. Keep up the good work buddy
14.
As you guys know for gigging cover bands in the US it's a 4 hour proposition. $500.00 is the top of the scale. We won't do business unless every member walks out with at least $100.00 in their wallet. We able to off set that scale with the higher paying festival and fair gigs in the Sumner, Some of you in the UK will say how can you play for 4 hours. My response, " it's easy, it's fun." Blue
In response to OP - Leeds - £300. Blue - just got back from Nashville and Memphis. Watched bands do 4 sets. All had the bucket at the front for tips. I suspect many were earning next to nothing except the kudos of playing such iconic places. Some bars had 2 and 3 bands at the same time on different floors. Have to say the levels go musicianship, especially in Memphis was AMAZING! You guise earn your money!
15. Subscribed to a fellow Leeds Fans thread. Lovely wood. Waiting in interest buddy
16. Just be on guard to stave off people coming over the front line, they trip on the monitors, reach out and often pull the mic stands over on their way down. Often end up stopping people coming over with a firm hand to their back. You'll have a ball. It's what it's all about!
17. Yeah - the Leeds one - always draws me in to find next to no basses. Lots of tat and at least a fiver entry. Good to see the gnarly old rockers that turn up though
18. My 1976 Gibson Les Paul Triumph in white. I searched for years until I found it. I play it more than any of my other basses and will never sell it.
19. Cheers chaps. I've gone way back and it seems to have gone. Probably for the best. You know when you don't need something but you want it? Well that. Lovely white sexiness. Cheers. Andy
20. I saw a pair of white TKS cabs for sale I think on a FB site (like BassPlayers Market or Buy/Sell/Swap) BUT the ad seems to have disappeared. Was only last week. Anyone see it and remember where it was? I can't get my news feed to go back to last week and searching all the sites brings up nothing IT'S NOT THE ONES FOR SALE ON THIS FORUM - these ones are white Ringing any bells? Thanks Andy
