At last another LP fan (I know Neipheed digs em too). Got 4 now but not the Goldtop. On the list though.....

They played Baba O'Riley this time. That plus 5.15 were the highlights. I'm nipping next door to borrow a cup of sugar from Pete Townsend a local Leeds lad ha ha

Saw The Who last night at the Leeds Arena. They were amazing. Great band, great stage show with montage footage running behind them throughout. Pino was on bass and bossed it then they did a really clever bit where there was a bass solo and the footage cut to Entwistle playing. The show went quiet with The Ox blasting it out. Really clever and made the night. That having been said, the block we were sat in was like a blooming library. Was the most soul less audience I've ever been a part of. Still an ace night though.

I am pulling together a Fender Musicmaster bass. Have a 78 body and have managed to acquire 2 pickguards. The first one I got is the bottom one and lines up with all screw holes wings come slightly up around the neck pocket. The second one I got is a different. Seems to be missing a screw hole on the middle top edge and fits straight across the neck pocket. I have been looking back at for sale models and seems there are a mixture of both styles? Anyone know if they changed at a certain point or were randomly fitted. Keen to retain authenticity as near as I can but the second one is in slightly better condition so would prefer that. Am still after a neck though if anyone has, or knows of one. Thanks Andy

I use a mono double case too. It is exceptionally sturdy and really protects my guitars. As BRX says, not especially comfy to use on your back but I really only carry it to and from the car. I also have a single Harvest case. Now that IS comfy to carry.

None at all. Was worried I might so placed them firstly to test and is fine.

I decided to bling up my rack. It's only 30cm wide and sits between my SP212 and Orange Terror Bass head. Currently houses an effects unit, tuner and remote transceiver. So a £13 set of ebay blue LEDs and I think it looks ace. Replaced the patch leads too then cable tied everything snugly in the back. I feel very accomplished. Let's hope it makes me play better! (Yeah I know I'm a tart) Andy

[/quote] My band play covers. Honestly, you wouldn't believe how many people come to see us time after time. I wouldn't! We do tend to get the the audience engaged and always end up with a dance floor full. Personally, I think it's about the material (we tend to do the biggest anthems by the bands we cover) as opposed to us all being virtuoso musicians But people do have a good night so come back for more. It's ace!

Agree Blue. We now have a following and it amazes me that they come see us time after time, week after week. Like you though, it's been created through effort. We have got to know them, often dedicate songs by name, sing happy birthday, accepted their FB friend requests, keep the website updated and thank them at gigs over the mic for coming. This has lead to us playing their parties, weddings etc too. I always also make a point of mentioning how many regulars are there at our gigs so the bar owners recognise we are bringing a crowd which is of course healthy all around. I have even offered regulars lifts home after the show. It's an effort well worth making. Amazes me too how when speaking to these new friends, they know when and where we are playing often more accurately than me ha ha

Mid 80s playing in a boozer in Halifax - we came to a percussion break in the song and I enthusiastically let go my bass and clapped above my head trying to get an audience participation thing going. Cue the strap coming off and an almighty BOOOIIIIIIIINNNGGGGG as my bass hit the floor. (remember, this was the 80s. The bass was up around my chin). Audience pee'd themselves laughing. I kinda tried to laugh along while edging off to escape the embarrassment. Not good

I use the Taylor Musicians bag. Is ace. Loads of pockets, compartments. Was a bit pricey but is exactly what I need and like. Keeps everything organised and is configurable to create spaces to suit your needs.

If you walk past the Ramones Museum (think its on Oranienburgerstrasse) There is massive bombed facade building on the left (past the synagogue on the right) behind there is a bar and art galleries which has live music on. Really funky place. Worth a visit (has sand on the floor like an inner city beach) and old cold war military hardware made in to seats and art. I liked it

I was also at that gig Izzy. There again on Friday night for 9 Below Zero. Yee har
