Watch that noise limiter and the bottom G......... Have a good one :-)

That looks fun - i might buy one for our guitarist - me and drummer boy can just stay at the bar and watch at our gigs then :-)

That looks really nice..

Ah, could be..... Dont worry no rush, i found it eventually by scrolling through the thread for 20 minutes and i have it linked in my profile now. I was just a bit concerned no one could find me as i'm looking to buy something at the moment

Pardon my stupidity but whats the difference between a sticky note and a message?

Thank you, will do. Is there a way to make it the default option when i open a page?

Its not a bug but....... I dont like only having 4 topics per page on the new or unread pages - i seem to be endlessly scrolling down and its too wide also. Being able to see about 20 in a more condensed style is more preferable to me. On the plus side, i managed to get the garage cleared out over the weekend instead of being sat in front of the laptop. So thats good....

Re the cutting out at volume with my Stingray - it never happened with my GK MBFusion or Genz Shuttle class D amps and its never happened with my current non class D amps either using the same bass. Its a regular gig we do and has no power supply issues either. The bass control wasn't cranked (maybe about 60/75%). And tbh it wasn't even at a huge volume - it was just a medium sized pub gig. Maybe i had a duff amp - one of the detent positions didn't have the soft click feel about it on the amp 1 knob either. You simply couldn't feel the bass in your back - it just sounded flat compared with my other amps.

The 2 pickup model will do exactly what the 1 pickup will do but adds in more versatility - don't be scared off by it. It may be even easier to move on at minimal loss as well because they are a bit rarer than a 'normal' Stingray. I think you've made the right call re the Dargie and the 25th Anni as well. I would go with the Ray if it was me (i've had USA Subs, USA Sterlings and 3eq Stingrays as well as my current 2 eq one)

Sorry, i don't know - i didn't buy the footswitch. The amp lasted 1 gig and i sent it back - amongst other things i couldn't actually see the black knobs onstage, it kept cutting out at volume and it lacked any of the 'heft' i was used to from my regular amps. It was fun at home but in reality for live use it was too fiddly. I used my Gallien and Stingray on the next gig and it was like coming home.......

cheers Ped, thats great

According to the blurb, i should be able to see how long i have left on my subscription - can't see anything though? Is it on the things to do list or should it be live now? Ta
I can recommend the Gator G-PG bags - I have both this one and the dual. If you're interested in them then it's worth keeping an eye on Amazon's prices. The dual bag seems to come down to about £135 when Amazon have it in stock themselves, and I bought the single one linked above a bit earlier in the year for £102, though I've not kept an eye on the price since.
I've got this one and can absolutely recommend it. Its a bit under the radar compared to the usual Mono and Fusion ones but incredibly well made with great protection. (And i picked it up for £50 from Amazon as a warehouse clearance item - i should have had a stripey t shirt and a mask on........)

Ive just had exactly the same experience with a couple of cheap Chord branded speakons - i started a thread on here a week or so ago. Failed to work with cabs unless you rotate them back 5mm from the lock position and find a sweet spot. I think theres a bunch of dodgy speakon plugs coming out of China at the moment. The shop i got them from via Amazon was good initially and just sent out a second pair which they had tested instore but they dont work on my cabs. My genuine neutral ones work perfectly on everything. I requested a refund and wanted to send everything back but the shop has just blanked me now.....
Cheers - that makes it very clear thank you! So almost no one has had a bad experience of Ashdowns (from the responses, so far, other than the MiBass)? Well that's very positive, in itself, and helpfully knocks on the head my own preconceptions!
Theres a load of people who've had bad experiences with Ashdowns if you hunt around the forums and it seems mainly based around the baked in woolly low end that people have experienced with various earlier ABM and Mag models - myself included. I had an ABM500 evo3 for a few months and just couldn't get on with it. Paired with a Barefaced Big one and a Spector Euro i couldn't get away from the pillowy low end and lack of cut at the top frequencies. i came to the conclusion that they worked better with "older school" passive basses than they do with more modern clangy active ones. Gave up on it after about 6 gigs and sold it. However, i tried a Rootmaster 800 (along with a couple of TC heads) in PMT a few years ago when i was looking for a backup to my GK 700RB and kind of liked it - the assistant said i should try the new ABM600 whilst i had everything plugged in. I'm glad i did because i found it had a load more heft about it and it didn't have that muffled sound that my old ABM had. You could dial it in if you like that sort of thing but it was easy to get rid of it - which i couldn't do with the old one. According to the guys in the shop it's due to the newer power amp in it. I bought it on the spot as it was noticeably more up my street than the Rootmaster (its a class D issue with me....) To get a big clangy sound with a load of depth and punch you need to set the eq pretty flat without the shape switched on, cut a bit of the bass dial and also drop some 180hz from the slider - use the volume to add slam. Switch the valve in to about 10 o'clock if you want harmonic fruit, switch it off if you want a more sterile sound. I dont like the compressor so that stays off and the subharmonic thing seems like a gimmick so its never used. Roger Baer also mentioned on a rival forum about using the shape switched on, cutting the bass dial right back (9 o'clock) and goose the high mids and treble - seems a bit mad and counterintuitive but it sounds huge. I uses a Stingray, Precision and Sandberg PM with it and they all sound great - its fine with active or passive it seems. The Stingray sounds fabulous. And there are no worries with volume - we're a loud band and it never gets over half way on the master volume even at bigger gigs.
I agree. It's possible but not easy and requires forward planning. For mucking about at home, or having it for 'always on' effects it's great.
Its not too difficult in reality. You just set up alternate bypass/effect patches in the A,B,C,D etc mode then just punch through them as you need them. For example i have A - bypass, B - chorus, C - bypass, D - compressor, E - bypass, F - Ampeg sim. You always have the next effect in the sequence as a bypass as a safety net then and you can whack through any of the effects within a second or two. It works really well live - dead easy.

Clingfilm anything near the front of the stage on the floor that people are likely to tip beer into. Pedalboards, LED lights, monitors etc...... Also gaffa tape mic stands to the floor - this tactic saved our geetard/singerist from having a lump taken out of his rather expensive Les Paul a few months ago when someone knocked it into him.
