I have a Mosfet Veyron. It's bloody brilliant. Absolute steal for £200ish new. Aux in, headphones out, great fat warm sound, decent EQ, lightweight...

Disappointing new bass day...I would appreciate some opinions.

That's totally unacceptable at even a £300 level and looks like it's been made by the Saturday lad. You need to send it back for a refund and reconsider your options unless they offer it to you at a silly cheap price. You'll never be able to love it because it'll leave a bad taste. Name the builder and keep the thread updated with progress. If the builder responds positively and you reach a happy outcome it's not the end of the world for them but if it goes wrong people should be aware. -
Choice between Warwick Pro Fet 3.1 and Ashdown RM 800 Evo - Help Needed

Does the amp use an Icepower module or is it a proprietary design?

I used a pair of Big Baby cabs for about 10 years gigging almost every weekend. Never thought I would find anything better/more suited to me and they would be forever cabs. They're bloody good. But I retired from regular gigging last year. Sold them both with the intention of downsizing everything. Bought a GR212 but it wasn't the right cab for me sonically. Ended up with a Monaco and although I've only done a couple of rehearsals and a festival gig with it I think it's better than the BF cabs. It's more controlled at home levels and definitely fills a bigger room better. It's almost like the volume is more consistent wherever you stand whereas the BF cabs threw a long way but if you were stuck right in front of them (just using a single cab) then you could get a bit lost. They were still better than most regular cabs but I think the LFSys improves on it significantly. And they feel a bit tougher too.

They're still easily available for £230

I picked one up a few months back and it's bloody brilliant. I just wanted something for noodling around at home with an aux in and headphones out and a less neutral sound than the GR Bass 800 that i had at the time. Seriously impressed with it at home levels - can't get a bad sound out of it.

It'll be Herts/Essex

2025 SE Bass Basheroonie! Sunday 9/11/25 *CONFIRMED*

Reckon I'll mosey on down..... I'll bring my Spector Pulse 2 with the LHZ preamp, a Warwick Proline custom, an LFSys Monaco cab and a couple of amps (a choice between a Bugera Veyron, Quilter BB800, Mesa Big Block or an Orange 4 Stroke - if anyone would like to have a bash on something let me know your preference) -
If he tried pulling a couple of girls over the barrier and snogging them nowadays imagine the fuss!!! That Spanish football official who kissed the lady captain a couple of years back was pretty much beheaded for it. I bet there's a few lawyers trying to find out where they are now 😂

I guess she doesn't have a spare bass to bring 🙂
-
They look pretty bloody good to me!

Reckon he's still there????

Bad trousers and mullet here 🙂

Never mind, could be worse. I was too old apparently. My 50 gigs a year experience, transport, flexibility and pro gear all counted for nothing when I told them I was 60. First time in my life I've been discriminated against despite being half deaf, half Welsh and a bass player! 😂

There was a band called Navarro looking local to you a few weeks back...
-
80 years old, recovering from the flu, stupidly hot weather and allegedly spent £300,000 of his own money to bring the full band over from Vegas for this one gig. He's earned his time for me so I'll cut him a bit of slack...

I can confirm that a Monaco fits nicely in the frunk of a Porsche 986 Boxster if you pop the spare wheel out first 🙂
-
Oh and if you ever change your MX5 in for a Boxster I can confirm it will fit in the frunk with a bit of room to spare.....🙂

I have a Monaco. Used it for the first time in anger at an outdoor festival last Sunday and I've done a few rehearsals with it. Bloody brilliant. Dispersion is fabulous and the cab didn't break a sweat with a 5 string Spector. The build quality feels better than my Barefaced BB2 cabs I used for 10 years - they never failed on me but the cabinets always felt a bit fragile. I've used various Bergs as well and sold them all after a couple of gigs - they didn't have enough booty for what I was looking for at the time. The thing I haven't seen anyone mention so far is that the Monaco is really good at lower volumes too. The BB2 was always a bit full on for home use - it just sounded huge all the time which isn't necessarily great for in the living room. Wholeheartedly recommended

I have an LFSys Monaco and it's fine with a 5 string Spector.
